Today's Rare Finds...

I received a few boxes the past few days from Yahoo Japan, and here's what came in...

A Finder's Service commission below. Lovely cute needle felt animal by Japanese artist.
...and this amazing vintage tin tea tray!
I am just in love with it. Lovely vintage graphics of a girl doll perhaps, having lunch with her bear, bunny, and bird friends.
The girl reminds me of those posedolls that are more child-like then lady-like, with her cute chubby cheeks and legs.
Definitely a keeper. Made in Japan. I'm sure there was a matching tea set!

I was able to win these cute pink deer couple with chain. Just adorable. I paid to have the ceramics double wrapped, and when I opened this set, I'm surprised they didn't crack, since there was only a single piece of bubble wrap protecting them from hitting each other in the box?!
Very disappointed, since I paid extra... ugh.
But, I am very happy they didn't get damaged. These two are very cute and remind me a lot of the reindeer couple I painted in white with red dots.
I love his crossed eyes, just make them all the more cute! These cuties will be added to my shop!

I won this lot of two Rune Naito Ceramic cat figurines. I thought they were coin banks, but sadly they aren't. Still they look so cute together, don't they?!
Both in lovely condition, and they still have their original Rune Naito sticker stamp.
I believe they are from around the 70s or so. I will be adding them to my shop as well.

Last, are these amazing pink reproduction canisters. I read a blog that said they were released back in 2009. Sadly, they are sold out, and I've been on the look out for them for about a year. So, you can imagine my surprise to find them up for auction. Yippee and to win them, double yippee!
I recently saw my fellow collector friend Miss Nostalgia sell her set. I found out a few days late that she had them up for purchase. Oh well, when a few days later, this set showed up. I made sure to put my bid in. These will be added to my collection of course, and I've listed my Merryco canister set in my shop if anyone is interested? These are similar to the 1960s plastic canisters by Lustroware or Rubbermaid. Reproductions of course from China, and with lovely Meyercord decals of a bunny, cat, dog, and deer. Now, to find a spot to display them...hmm.

Please be sure to check my etsy shop for the latest items up for grabs. Use my coupon for a discount! I will be on a little vacation next week, so the shop will be closed for a bit, but will reopen on April 8th!

Also, an update, the winner for my ggsdolls retro pink dog is Sparklecious on IG! Congrats dear for winning her. I will be in touch with you shortly for your info. I truly appreciate Nadine for being the sole contributor to the giveaway!

More Finds Arrive!

Here's what came in...

Amazing aqua colored chalkware cat I found via etsy. I've seen these eyelash cuties before, but this color just pops out at you. One of the reasons why I bought it.
I love the color with purple eye shadow and floral motifs. Sadly, she was missing her rubber stopper, no worries, I have a few I got as replacements.
She will be added to my collection.

This interesting looking tall bunny with eyelashes, found through ebay. I don't recall seeing this before with closed eyes. I mostly see one with eyes open. But it was the eyelashes that got me.

Quite unique and so mod looking too. I will add her to the shop. Maybe she has a partner in need of her?!

While doing my searches for vintage mod art, etc. I discovered these vintage annual Girl's books, this one titled, "Diana - For Girls 1970", are gift books, parents or grandparents, etc., would probably give their daughters or granddaughters, as a gift. The book is filled with comic stories, craft things, proper etiquette, etc., that girls at the time needed to know. Can't wait to read it!
I found on etsy, and fell mostly in love with the cover. I may get a few more... like 1971! Hehe.
Just love the style and graphics of those days.

I also adopted this guy via IG. He looks very similar to the vintage Japan made plushies, I've seen. He's a skunk with a long tale and needs cleaning. Still has his original tag, "made in Japan." I will add him to the shop later.

Before picking up the mail, I started working on redressing my sweet bunny, but sadly, I didn't have any doll clothes she could fit into. Darn. Unless, I take the hem at the back of the fashions, not an option. So, instead, I decided to make her a vest like the one's you see on those cute Rushton Bunnies. I didn't have pastel pink felt, darn. So, opted for cream, with pink ribbon and buttons.
I even made her a little pillow with a deer, from the fabric I got at the 100yen store on island. I then, added some baby blue pom poms. I'm so obsessed with her these days... She sits on my dresser and I see her as soon as I wake up. Eep!

Handmade Amazing-Ness!

Oh my goodness! Where to begin...

I've been smitten with a fellow instagramer's pics of her handmade cuties for the past 4 months. I knew she only sold her creations via her website or through Yahoo Japan Auctions. Sadly, she had one recently, and I didn't win any of them. -_-;

Luckily, another fellow shop friend Miss Nostalgia, was selling one of the handmade cuties by the same talented Japan maker! What? Yup. So, I inquired and she said she'd allow for me to do a layaway. Yay me! Well, since I got sick for my birthday, and we didn't travel to Japan as planned, I figured I'd treat myself to this cutie! She arrived safely after a long journey from China...
I'm simply in awe... Meet my cute handmade by Happy Sachiyo, Japan "Yellow Bunny".

She is lovingly crafted after those adorable Vintage Meyercord decals. Yup, you can tell by the way the eyes are done! Sachiyo creates similar looks of Meyercord in her teddies, bunnies, etc. She arrived to me in a cute box with tissue paper, and she has some weight to her. I took off her yellow bows and put a red one to match her apron. Later, I found out she is scented. Taby says she smells of baby powder. I was wondering, because the scent was not noticeable at first, until I got a headache from it later on while handling her, ugh. A bit too strong for me. So, she will have to air out.
She's about 8 inches tall, but with her ears about almost 12 inches! Her arms and legs can move, to allow her to sit or stand upright. Her neck seems a bit loose, and it doesn't turn or at least I don't want to take the chance of doing it and break her head off. LOL
She came wearing yellow ribbon bows and this cute vintage inspired apron. I want to dress her up! Hopefully more on that later. If you ever are given a chance to own one of Happy Sachiyo's creations, it's well worth the money. Definitely not cheap, so warning, beep, beep, beep!

I also wanted to share, I worked on the brooch from last post, and repainted the eyes a bit. Not perfect, but decent for me. Instead of those dead looking eyes. Unless your into that? Haha.

My usual searches, I found a Lot of small ceramic cuties. These guys I've seen before, but larger versions, with chained parents. As for the people versions, only shakers for Christmas. I'm assuming they were paired with their parents, but got lost on the way?! LOL.
There's an Indian, squirrel, boy with guitar, and a cow. I already owned a blue mouse. So, they will be a cute group.

I'm also having a Spring Special... Be sure to stop by my etsy shop! Just use the coupon below with purchases of $50 or more.

Here is a ggsdolls needle felt creation made with love by Cynthia Flores aka Gigi.

This needle felt retro dog in pastel pink is made by needle felting roving wool. Then, I added details like safety eyes, nose, and tongue is made of red felt, and glued in place. Then, more roving wool is added to the body to look like the vintage versions sold long ago in Japan by Bandai and other Japan companies back in the 1960s and 1970s. The dog's hair can be brushed, but please be very careful. See care instructions below, and the instructions are also added to the acrylic case.

This is a collectible miniature, for display or light play, and not meant for very young children 7 years of age and younger. Each dog is unique and "One of a kind". Measuring between 2 inches tall or less. It will come with a clear plastic display case that measures 2 x 2 x 3 inches. Atomaru Doran Doran doll and Floral Girl G dolls above are not in the giveaway and are just for reference.
