Thrifting Has its Ups and Downs...

... And, well, if you started reading this, and was hoping for some ranting or venting to happen, sorry. Just thought I'd go with this for a post starter. LOL

Here are some goodies I found the past few weeks...

Well, technically, these are not vintage, but adorable pieces I had to share that I got from DollsKill website. They make lovely adorable pink pieces in plus sizes for us voluptuous gals. Haha! I got this adorable pink bow crochet sweater (above) and this truly gorgeous brocade dress (below). The brocade dress gives me "Bridgerton" vibes. I will be wearing this when the next series comes out in May!! Teehee!

Next, I was able to get myself this Pinocosmile from Japan needle felted running artist bun! I've always loved her works, so I am so glad I was able to get one.

The adorable Forsum dolly above, I was able to bid on and win. She is now ready to go to her forever home. Forsum definitely made some cute dollies in the 60s and 70s. Below, I found these two bunnies by Gund available and at a reasonable price. They each needed a bit of TLC and are now adopted and on layaway for a customer. I'm always happy that I am able to find new homes for the vintage toys, dolls and plushies that come through my shop. It means a lot. So thank you guys for adopting them.

These Jr Margaret dolls I was able to find for a dear friend stateside. The dolls were not regularly listed as what they are, which is 'talking dolls'. So to find these not purchased yet, was surprising. They are already on their way to they're forever home. These dolls still talk too! Wow!
One of the reasons, I searched for the dolls above, is because that same dear friend helped me to acquire this Nod by Rushton!! I found him via a marketplace, and the seller did not want to ship to me. Even though I was willing to pay her for shipping, etc. So, I went the route of asking a friend stateside to help me get him. Sure enough, she was able to meet up with the seller and get him for me! Then ship to me! I was so happy. This Nod didn't need any major work except to remove his stuffing as it was that yucky sponge stuffing. Which is what caused his pajamas to start turning brown. Long story short, he was in beautiful condition, and I didn't need to do anything major to fix him!
Below, is my vintage rattle collection... I had to bring them up to the house here for display and since I finally received this adorable changing table for baby dolls. It was a perfect shelf to display them in. I also got this adorable Krueger Bonnet doll. She was in amazing condition for her age.

More on this Changing table above, believe it or not, it was a birthday gift to myself. I found it on Etsy. But had to pay a bit more for shipping to me. It took a month to arrive. That I was not happy with, but it did arrive safely, and it was in lovely condition with the exception of the bottom shelf panel being cracked and needed fixing. Still it a lovely piece and to display my vintage toys or dolls with too! Yay!

The most adorable art piece I've acquired above. Made by Evilbimbo on Etsy. I love the way she created this painting of two cute plushies that resemble "Rushton's Peter Rabbit and Happy Bear!" Even the color of the paint and double frame she used gave me shabby chic vibes.

Well, that's all for now. I hope you find lovely vintage things that make you happy! Be sure to check my shop on Etsy for some cool vintage items available! Happy Hunting!

Birthday and Amazing Finds!!

Another year older, LOL! It was a great celebration with my little family and some truly awesome finds along the way...

My sweet girl who knows me so well, got me a Parisco Ube Cheesecake for my birthday. Thank you Tabytha! We celebrated at my fave restaurant and had a nice simple lunch. It was a good time for sure. The past few weeks, I was able to find and get some amazing and rare Rushton plushies. Definitely a great lead up to my birthday too! Below, is a large standing bunny, called, "Beggin' Bunny" made by Rushton for Easter. She wears her original skirt and bow. I added the bonnet to her. I was surprised no one had claimed her, and the seller was so kind and shipped her asap to me.

Same site, I found this creepy cute Rushton Clown. Not seen before and not in any of my catalogs, sadly. He was missing his pants, and his hat was all tattered and torn, so I replaced them. Now, he is amazing again and has already been adopted. Quite the unique find I must say for sure! I honestly was surprised, that neither of these two were adopted right away, before I found them...

I also scored this Valentine's Bo Peep. She was missing her bonnet and I found this antique one that fits her perfectly. She is the sweetest gal and still has her "Love Me" tag. I already listed her in my shop just in time for Valentine's Day!! Below, I got this adorable Mattel Music Book wind up. It didn't work, so I opened it up and fixed it. I love the graphics, the artist reminds me of the same person who did Liddle Kiddles box art. The bun beside the book is another adorable find, similar to a lamb I found a few years back. She was a welcome find too! Love those lashes!

Next, this adorable Ukulele by Takara with Pichipichi and Wataru on it. Lovely addition to any Licca first gen collection. Already in my shop. I caved and got myself these adorable diecast volkswagon cars from Alvina of Joujoukawaii shop. She even added a few gifts for my bday!! I love them, thank you A!!

A few rattle friends above and below arrived as well. The blue one I found from Japan. There is just something adorable about rattle dolls. I simply love them. Then, I found a lot of memos with anime girls on them. This one is a double sided memo. Definitely a keeper. I just love the graphics of all the galaxy eyed gals on them!

These flocked cuties I made myself! Well I upcycled them. They are vintage flocked fruit and I added some cute googly eyes to make them anthropomorphic. I listed them in my shop 2 weeks ago and sold 4 and made more. I even added other fruits, like these smaller ones. The pear is much heavier in weight so she is not an ornament, but great for display purposes too! It was fun to put them together and set them up. All listed in my shop!!

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week. Valentine's Day tomorrow, so enjoy your loved ones and happy thrifting!

My Birthday Month is Here!!

February has been a special month for me, not just because its my birth month, but because there's Valentine's Day and a few presidents celebrated this month for their bdays!!

LOL So, here's what I found the past few weeks...

Items I found from Japan, this adorable vintage terry cloth bath sponge in the shape of a bunny head, still mint in package! This adorable and creepy sleep eyed doll from the 1950s. I have this large one and a small one. All are listed in my Etsy shop!

Next, this adorable Baby Bunka doll that is quite large too. Already adopted by a fellow collector friend. She is able to sit upright, so legs are jointed. I love the hand painted features of her face too!

These adorable Macoto and Junichi handkerchief I got as a lot. I listed 3 out of the five that were together. I am keeping these two for now...

I don't know if I mentioned, a few years back I got this adorable puppy shaped perfume with a pink lid... Little did I know they used to come in a set of 3 fragrances, Jasmin, Gardenia, and Carnation. All made by Manon Freres perfumes, 1940s. I love the colors and the box they came in was a carnival tent shape. Sadly, the Jasmin perfume leaked I guess and made the roof warped really bad. Ugh. I was devastated, but se la vie! I love the smells, some remind me of my mother's perfume back in the 70s. Below, this adorable clock Plakie rattle mint in box I won from the bay. I will treasure it. Just too cute!!

These adorable vintage upcycled orange and pears, I made into anthropomorphic ornaments! I had them in my shop just a few days ago and they sold out in less than a week! I hope to make more soon! Glad that there was a good reception for them. The orange was based off of the operatic orange that I used to watch as a kid on Sesame Street! A great memory too!

These two lovely records booklets with sleeves that I got from Japan. Below is one called, "Gift for Girls". This booklet has lovely artwork by Rune Naito and includes four records. Made of really thin plastic and can sit inside a page of the booklet. Each record has one or two songs on it to play. Mostly classical songs. Very calming and beautiful to listen too. The second record is called, "Swan Princess" and the other side is a boys anime theme song called, "Fight Pyuta". Not sure. But still cute!

I also got some adorable anime girl items, like this coin purse above and Macoto T. mini notebook. Just love Shoujo anime gals so very much!! Brings all the nostalgic feels I had as a kid.

Lastly, these adorable vinyl stickers I had made of my "Happy Bear" and "Peter" rabbit. Both are available in my shop too!  You can stick them on your car!! That's all for now, happy thrifting!

Thank you for stopping by! ~ ggsdolls
