Diakeito Diagold Mascot Doll

I received an amazing find through Yahoo Japan Saturday! I have seen these dolls a few times before back in 2008, and 2009. I've tried bidding on them, but lost every time. This time, I finally won one. Yay!

ダイヤモンド毛糸/ Diakeito Diagold, is a company that manufactures yarn 100% wool, in Japan. From my research, there are even manuals that show different ways to knit cute clothing, using their products.

 This Mascot doll is about 50cm or 19.5 inches tall. Yup, she's huge. Only her arms and head can move. You can see further below for her body type. She came wearing a lovely knitted blouse and pencil skirt. Very fashionable at the time, perhaps 1950s or so.

 She has molded on black heels and lovely slender fingers. Her face is similar to a pose doll, with a lovely Bubble cut hairstyle. She arrived very soiled and needing a major shower.

 I had to remove her top and skirt, washed them, and then showered her. I tried to get most of the caked on dust on her face and hands off. Sadly, her blouse and skirt needed sewing after the wash and drying process.

 They are over 60 years old... I think I sewed most of the holes on the skirt and blouse. Sadly, the outfit is very delicate. Darn. She has holes underneath her heels, that are supposed to be set into a base.

 She towers over my doll closet!

 These are not my photos, but from sellers auctions, that I kept for reference, back in 2008 and 2009. So very glad I did.

 This shows me that she is suppose to be standing on a base, with the characters, "ダイヤモンド毛糸/ Diakeito", the company. The dolls either stood beside a street sign or a yarn. The mascot dolls were often dressed in knitted fashions.

Amongst my older auction photos saved, I found this! It's a knitting manual.

Amazing pieces of vintage history. I love how Japanese companies back then, packaged their goods for consumers. To this day, Japan still tries to uphold, and bring the same high quality and design, in what they create and sell to their customers in Japan and to the world.

No surprise there! One of the reasons we keep going back...

Time Changes Things...

Sorry, I've been 'missing in action' the past few days. I've reached a realization with my collecting and searches... Maybe it's positive or it may be negative? But, I'm starting to lose the desire to search for anything the past few days. What?! Yup.

Or maybe it's been something long time coming. Well, for whatever reason, I will try my best to keep my blog posts coming, as best I can.

Also, I'd like to announce that if you see anything in my past blog posts or shop, that may interest you... Email me, make me an offer, I may be willing to let that item go?! Seriously, make me an offer, I can't refuse! I often want others to enjoy the treasures I've found through the years. Many have come and gone, I'm okay with it, and happy to know that the item, can bring joy to someone else. That's important to me, however small of a miracle it may mean to that person.

Okay, before I start getting all tear jerky. Ha. Here's what I did receive the past week.

 I ordered some paper flowers from Thailand. Look at the cute packaging too! I just love the paper flowers. I will be using a few to replace some flowers on one of the coin bank figurines. The others I may use in photo scenes.

 Then, I found another set of Indian posey dolls. This time in red and mustard. They have already been listed in my etsy shop. Nice and minty too.

 This lovely vintage "Little Mermaid" coloring book is quite unique. I found through a Japan website.

 Lovely unused coloring pages. I have to decide to list it or not. I love the artwork that's for sure.

Then, I ordered these from Retro kids.com, a pair of kid size Sun Jelly retro bags, in mint and hot pink.

 I've always wanted the vintage shopping bag like this, but they can be pretty pricey. At Retro kids, you can get a smaller version and for cheap too! Yay!

It's worth it. So, be sure to check it out. They are great for carrying your dolls or toys with you to the beach or shopping! I've added a cute vintage "Fancy" key chain I was given as a gift, on the mint one.

 Lastly, I found this cute vintage teeny tiny chenille pose doll in dome via Yahoo Japan. No bidders. She is so cute, and stationary on her base. The glass dome can be removed to see her closely.

 She looks like she must have been holding some flowers, which are now missing, in her purse. Made of wires, pipe cleaners, netted lace, and very thin chiffon.

 I may decide to add her to my shop soon...

I also wanted to share, I received the most sweet 'thank you' card from a customer in the mail. Dear sweet Ann H. from Florida, wanted to send me a very sweet card for her recent purchase. I'm so glad she will treasure her little piece of Heaven. Ana, you made my day, week, and year, dear!

My Latest Trade!

Oh my goodness, I just have to showcase the trade I received today!!  Jess, a fellow collector via IG, wanted to trade for my cute furry dog. So, I agreed. She allowed me to adopt her white deer couple set. Yes, I do own the right facing deer, but to have the left! Yay.

The box arrived safely to me today, and to my very surprise, Jess even allowed me to adopt her ceramic bear! What?! Oh my gosh, I'm dreaming. You see, long story short, back in early January, she was offering her brown ceramic bear for sale or trade. I DMed her and asked her about him, she was asking me what I wanted to offer as a price. Then, later, we both just got busy with life... I asked if he sold, or was traded, she didn't say or maybe she didn't get my message on him? Not sure... Fast forward to now, she sent him along with the trade for the fawns!

 This cute bear, reminds me of those Sun Rubber squeak toy bears that are very hard to find or too expensive to buy nowadays! This little guy, has movable head, arms, and legs! Awesome!

 I added a blue ribbon on him. He does look very similar to them, and is a welcome addition to my collection. Especially since, I can't afford a Sun Rubber cutie for now. LOL

The left facing dear below. So cute. 

 Now, my white deer couple is complete. I replaced the ribbon on both and they are now on display in my cabinet.

 I will place the extra right facing deer in my shop later...

I added a ribbon to my unicorn as well. Such a cutie...

This Weeks Haul...

Here's what came in this week!

This lovely MerryBee meyercord decal letter box/Organizer. I will be adding it to my shop, if anyone is interested. Beautifully made too.

 You can even display your Shevie dolls in them!

 I found this lovely vintage Sankyo crib pull string music toy dog, in blue. He's quite mint and plays, "Brahm's Lullaby". I will try to take a video of it and post it later. When you pull on the string, it plays and the dogs eyes, move left and right.

 I've collected a few of these cute pull string music toys. I've had the strawberry, and a lemon, which I both sold. But, to find the dog in this color is awesome. I will need to add a strong canvas cord to hang him up. Since his is missing. He will be added to my collection.

 Vintage Froebel Kan board book, "Puppy Parade". Great for dogs lovers. Many cute photos of dogs, in cute situations. In great condition, with some sticker glue residue on the back of the book, that can be removed. I hope to list it later today in my shop. Along with a book I got an extra of.

 This amazing piece, a trade between two IG friends. One wanted my fur dog, and she traded with another to give me this lovely rare Unicorn planter from Japan. He's so cute, and I love his big eyes!

 These are quite rare. A lovely addition to my ceramic collection. He will be displayed on my dresser.

Last for today, my recent order with Amiami, Sanrio Characters: Ano Koro/ In Those Days... Rement set. I haven't been ordering or pre-ordering anything via Amiami or Hobby Search for some time now. So, when a fellow collector shared her IG photo of the cute cabinet from this set, I couldn't believe, that I didn't pre-order this set! LOL

 Luckily, it was still available for purchase. Whew! It will go great with my Retro Girl sets too!

 In this set, are many Sanrio items, I fell in love with back in the 80's ,when Julie's, a shop that specialized in Sanrio products from Japan, were sold. I would go with my sister weekly to see what new items came in.

Those who lived on Guam... Do you remember that shop? It was located in a complex, no longer there now, instead Nanbo's Insurance Bldg. is located there. Julie's, was then relocated to what is now Forever 21 store... Ahh the memories. Oops, back to the set! Ha.

 In the set are so many cute items, Hello Kitty, My Melody, Keroppi,  and Twin Stars too!

 The set is just the right size for my Tomy Rooms set. This is the Study Room. It comes with the desk and chair. The rest is the Ano Koro Rement. There is even a teeny tiny Twin Stars sands of time piece! Whoa! This is my new fave set now!

 I can add some of the Retro Girl Rement to create this scene of all the vintage treasures! Ceramics, toys, plush, etc.
