Things in the Mail...

I've been really busy working on the new studio apt. we will add to our list of Guest Houses for rent. So, I haven't had time to work on my blog or other things... But I just had to stop and take a break to show these goodies that came in...

I was able to snag this little cutie via IG, from a live sale. I got her for 5 bucks! I am beyond happy. She is very cute and I like her coloring she matches my items on my dresser!

Then, I also found this gem via etsy. I just had to get her. She was on my fave list for a few months now. I tried to find any other versions out there and there are none?! The print is by Dallas Simpson girl and fawn 1960s. But majority of the artist works are of a girl or boy, meant for a child's room or nursery, and these are similar to Margaret Keane of the same era. To find this one is rare, unless someone else can show me their print?
 A closer shot...

While the family and I stayed at our friends condo the past weekend, we went to our local grocer's and found this by Fujiya Look Royal Chocolates. It has tiny freeze dried strawberries in the center with white chocolate and outer chocolate coating, yum!

Then, also earlier this week, my son went to South Korea for a quick trip to sight see and get a tat. LOL
He brought back these goodies for us...
Totoro and Kiki pop up cards.
Last thing for today. I finally received a much anticipated item. A 2005 Wonder Festival box of Wanda & Reset Chan figures, mint and complete! Yippee!
I've seen these cuties via IG while doing some searches and another member had two cuties she shared. I didn't even know they were out there... LOL
There are 12 boxes in the set.  So that should give us 2 of each, right?
Nope, I only have one blonde girl, the one I wanted the most too-_-; Oh well. I have extras of the other figures. I am showing you the sets given, also two sets that you can paint yourself.

Wanda-chan/W-0 pink haired with pink devil costume, Wanda/W-1 light brown hair with black jacket striped top, and tan skirt, Wanda/W-2 Black hair with blue school uniform, (not shown) Wanda/W-00 unpainted version, comes with school uniform and regular dress outfit.

Reset-chan/R-0 purple hair in black devil costume, Reset/R-2 Blonde hair with Blue, red and white school uniform, Reset/R-1 Dark Brown hair with tan jacket, and grey skirt.

You can take off the heads, clothing are interchangeable and stands too! I will have so much fun with these cuties!
Reset-chan is my fave... Even their undies are cute!

Repaint a Vintage Dolly Closet...

I decided to repaint my wooden dolly closet I bought, back in July, here... Trust me, it was hard.

I started with spray painting it a baby blue last week. It took about two coats, but I think it turned out nicely. Sorry no photos of the process. I waited a bit longer than after 24 hours to go to the next step. That was only because, I wanted to be sure of what I was going to do next?

So, I started on finding a knob that would look cute on it. I bought a diamond round knob from the 100yen shop here, sadly, the screw was too wide for it to go into the hole. So, instead I just used the yellow thumb tack, that I already had on it. I added wood glue and some small sections of toothpick wood to keep the tack in place.

Afterwards, I had to decide if I was going to actually use the vintage meyercord decals I got a few months back... At first, I was going to use the one that I wouldn't mind, if it got damaged. Then, it hit me, nope, I'm going to use the one I love and do my best. Keeping my fingers crossed that it does work... I took a bowl of water as per the instructions, placed the cut decal I wanted to use and soaked it in the water, I waited a few minutes and the paper started to curl. I held it open and tried to wait a bit longer. Sure enough the paper stopped curling and I could feel the decal loosen and eventually I was able to remove it. I lifted it out of the water and started to place it onto the wood, slowly sliding it and trying my best to set it straight. I couldn't move it any more, so I started to dab with the paper towel and allowed it to dry. After about 5 minutes and no water on the it. I sprayed Mr. Super Clear Gloss to seal.

I was done!! Yay!
Then, I decided to add some petite pom poms in yellow... The finished product!
It turned out nicely, well at least to me. You can still see the etching from the flowers and birds and that's okay.

Now, to just decorate the inside...
What the closet looked like before...

I also received this cute vintage Japanese children's book. I love the plush bunny baby on the cover.
Many vintage dolls and toys along with tiny elves!
 ...and pose dolls too!

Your Name...

My son, visited me Yesterday, Sunday, and wanted us to watch a movie, he watched recently. We were excited to see what all the hub bub was about. Besides, it would be great family bonding time. It was!

First, now, I have a place to go and watch anime cartoons besides Crunchyroll! Second, this movie is not a Studio Ghibli film?! What?! Yup!

Released as, "Your Name (君の名は / Kimi no Na wa)" by CoMix Wave and directed by Makoto Shinkai. It was a truly beautiful anime movie. But, I won't give any spoilers here... So here's the trailer below, and be sure to watch it. A beautiful movie with a beautiful spirit, and story to share...

Toy Crane Machine Etc!

I didn't show you, but, I also got a Toy Crane or Claw Machine via Yahoo Japan. I saw them up for bid and figured it would be nice to own one... I've always wanted to own a coin machine that rolls out a toy after inserting a coin... Now, I do! Awesome!

I added my shop Logo and the toys inside are from my collection of various gacha toys, Glico, necklaces, etc.
I even put the little pillows I made! LOL Taby was telling me, that I should bring this to next year's Epixcon for my table. She also added I should get one more! Ha.

The machine is very easy to use, there are directions in English, and it comes with plastic coins to use. You will need to buy 3 "D" size batteries, and it doesn't come with anything inside. After, you put in a coin, music starts to play and you have 60 seconds to grab something! It's a lot of fun!

Only disappointment, is that, if the toys are too large, its doesn't fall down the slot easily. So, the next time I fill this machine, it will be with goodies that are small enough to fall through the slot. LOL

Then, I also sewed a round pillow using the vintage Japan fabric and pom pom tassels I have...
A round one below to put with my vintage baby doll...
This one I made extra.

I was able to repaint this cutie! Now, she's ready for my shop!

Awe, that face though...

Happy Mail!

I received some items that will be added to my shop, and some I will or may keep for my collection...

These cute meyercord decals from ebay, with a buy it now. I will keep for my collection. One of the more popular decals. I've always wanted to get a set.
Nally Ware vintage spice canister set with the "Star Burst" detail. I found this set via an online shop in Australia.
Another ISO retro item. I love the pastel colors and retro details. I may or may not keep this set?

This cute rubber girl doll via etsy, was calling out to me while I was searching... She is so sweet and cute. She is similar to my sitting dolls here. No flowers in her hands, but her face is like those cry baby sitting dolls with silly faces, that you can easily find online. A great addition to my soft vinyl doll collection. I need to give her a good bath though...
Finally, I bought this sweet Kamar Santa Claus also from an etsy shop here. I've been wanting to get this guy for some time. He reminds me of the Rankin Bass-made Santas. I can't wait to have him sit by our Christmas tree this year!
His squinty eyes and rosey cheeks, just to sweet!

Definitely for my collection! This beautifully made retro sleeping dog, from Japan. A fellow instragram follower, Asoubouya. I was able to have my friend in Japan buy this cutie. She arrived to me safely, and she looks just like the vintage retro dogs that many Japan collectors have. The price was nice too, not as expensive as the vintage ones. Whew!

She even added a sweet handkerchief. So nice of her!

My society6 throw pillows arrived. They actually come in as pillow cases only. You will have to buy a throw pillow to fit inside it. Luckily, we had some old ones that needed to be revamped...

The "Bear Rock" photographed by my husband and "Pink Plumeria" by me. I definitely have a place for these two!

Believe it or not, I won another vintage ceramic bunny bank below. This time she arrived safely, and not cracked. Sadly, though she needs a bit of a paint job on her ears and cheeks. But the rest of her is lovely! I will be adding her to my shop. So be on the look out for her.

Lastly, this lot of vintage toy necklaces. I will also add them to the shop, some I may keep...
I love the girl cameos best! Very cute.

Thank you for looking! ~ ggsdolls
