A Few Things...

I was able to get out an obitsu doll body from storage for my Blue Haired bunny/mouse doll head, I got from an online Japan shop. I found out the doll is by Takara, called, "Flower Child" or "タカラフラワーチャイルド".  She is a bunny doll, with other little animal friends, that are similar to little fairies. I think released around the 90s. She wore flower petal dresses and so do her friends. There's another bunny, and a cat girl. She came with little flower houses, and things like that. This doll head is very similar to the Flower Child, but not shown on any of the examples I've found online. So maybe she was a prototype perhaps? Not sure. But, she so cute. The Obitsu body will do for now, until I can find a body similar to the Flower child's body. I also got her a 1/12 picco neemo dress. I think this color matches her better, don't you?!

 I love her little face! What do you think? Know of any doll that she is similar too? Next, I found this lovely snow baby bunny plush via Ebay. She needed a good wash and sadly her noise maker box didn't work. So I had to remove it, then, washed her and restuffed her as well. I also had to replace her pompoms. Now she is too cute and I will add her to my shop soon! Made in Hong Kong, I believe, and she is similar to some of the Bella Pouet dolls. At least her face is. Adorable too!

 Then, I found on Merry Bee's website this miniature dolly closet up for sale!! I was simply in love with it. I immediately purchased it and it safely arrived today!! Just too cute for words. Very similar to the vintage doll closet I previously had in pink, still up for grabs in my Etsy shop too! This one has working sliding closet doors, and drawer! The decals are just yummy cute! Look below, as compared to the lifesize version! Worth every penny too! I hope they make more and in other colors!!

  Last, are these vintage Meyercord decal ceramic trinket boxes. I will add to my Etsy shop soon! Lovely bunny, bear, and lamby decals on white ceramic trinket boxes. Just too cute! Made in Japan!

Finds and Making Something Unique!!

I recently received a few vintage goodies the past week or so...

 This cutie finally arrived to me from Australia after a little over a month. Thanks to a dear sweet fellow collector who helped me to received her!! Josephine you rock my dear!! I have been wanting a pink Netta bear lamp to go with my blue bear lamp. Now, my Netta lamps are complete! I've introduced you to my first Netta lamp here in this post. They look a lot like, Edward Mobley bears too, but without the scary sleep eyes. Sorry, some sleep eyed dolls and toys do creep me out, and I can't deal. Haha! This lamp works too, but definitely needed a wipe down.

 Next, I found this lovely vintage Rosarium type lamp base via Etsy, and then found the lamp shade from Ebay. They match nicely, don't they! Lovely Rosarium type lamp is in good working order. Though the rose inside the globe is slowly falling apart. Well, the leaves are pretty much completely off the rose, and flopping around inside. Still it is quite unique and lovely too! I am still deciding whether to keep or sell... Decisions, decisions...

 A quick pic of my two yawning babies. I am having a hard time letting go of the striped bear at the moment... Haha. I found a dark blue satin ribbon and now he has a bow. The Yawnies, Winken, Blinken, and Nod... A vintage ad for the sleepy cuties you see above. No, striped Bear, but at least I know the yellow kitty's name, "Winken". I'm thinking the red bear on the left, is also this striped bear, making his name, "Blinken".  I also put up my little ballerina wall pockets! What do you think? Yes, I know they are not facing each other, but sadly, the larger one needs a more secure wall mount, and the other is on one of those stick on wall mounts.

 

Last, I found these heart shaped, pressed wood crafting wall plaques, at the local Daiso. I bought three and started to make something with em'! Here's my first attempt, a lovely vintage rubber face doggy heart plaque in satin blue, white and pink hues. It was really fun to do, and meant me finding all my appliques, ribbons, etc. that I could put on it. No real theme, besides it being a heart for Valentine's, but one of the inspirations was vintage Valentine Chocolate boxes. It was fun, now to work on the other two!

New to Me Rushton Bear!

I recently used Buy it Now via Ebay to get this new to me Rushton Plush. Of course at first, I wasn't sure it was a Rushton, just hoping it was. The very same yawning face bear like my other one here, but with a totally different pajama print, and not shown on the catalog advertisement I've seen before. So, of course I had to wait for his arrival. Because the seller would not ship to Guam. I had to send him to my sister's place. She mailed him out and he arrived to me earlier this week.

When I opened the box, he was loosely placed inside with some newspaper by the seller. Which sadly rubbed all over his face and made a lot of dark spots. Ugh. He didn't smell, but he was definitely dingy, and flat. No tag, but just a sliver of what was left. Which looks like it was cut off and not worn off. He has the same rubber paws like a Chubby Tubby, and his pajama print are also on his inner ears. Three pj buttons present, and a blue spot marking on his left paw, top side, not shown.

His before pic above... Now to work my magic! I placed him in the wash, and when he came out of course the pajama had holes in areas and lost a button, along with stuffing coming out of it. No surprise to me. I immediately laid him out to dry. At least his fur and face was clean again with no major markings. Whew. I looked him over carefully to assess what I needed to do to put him back together. Then, I checked his chin and took a closeup of it. Sure enough you can see the Rushton Co. Logo. He is definitely a Rushton. Yippee!! If you are not sure your plush is a Rushton, just look under the chin of your plush to verify and find the markings, "The Rushton Co." logo should be imprinted on it rubber face plushies. I worked on him for two days and just needed to sew and repair rips from the wash, because his pjs are very delicate, just like the other pajama plushies I've found. Resewn the buttons, and found the missing one in the wash. Then, restuffed him with both synthetic and his original cotton stuffing.

 He is not as chubby as he should be, but he still has weight and looks nice and clean again! While taking out the stuffing I found his squeak box, still in tact. I just placed it back inside his tummy area and he squeaks fine again. Yay! Here are some before and after photos of him. I love his blonde fur, very fluffy and bright too! It will be hard for me to let him go... Haha!

 I need to get some dark blue colored ribbon for him and take a few more pics. Another restoration complete and a labor of love, to see this well loved bear come back to life!

New Year, New Finds!!

Here are some online finds that came in the past few weeks, and most have been listed in my Etsy shop already!!

 This Geek girl dolly is vintage from the 1970s or so and looks very similar to Sekiguchi's Gege dolls. She is a mascot dolly, often found around this time frame. I fell in love with her blue specks, and big feet! She is already listed in my shop. Next, I found my 3rd Flocked Fujika red bunny, has some wear, but still lovely and with its original tag still on it. Sadly, there was no stopper, so I replaced it with one. Lovely condition and just needed a wipe down. He was listed and sold with in a few hours!!

 There was a Lot up for auction via Yahoo Japan, and in the lot was this lovely vintage red dog or cat perhaps? I've seen it before, it used to hold some picks and a small knife for finger foods maybe? Still in lovely condition, just missing the picks and knife. I have added this to my shop along with a partner you will see below.

 Adorable winking sweater kitty was in the lot. In perfect condition with the exception of some glue residue that can be removed by the new owner. She will be sold with the red cat/dog pick holder. Already listed in my shop!

 I also purchased this Swimmer star mini table to sell in my Etsy shop. In great condition and sold out, so it is hard to find. I have one in my collection and I love to display it with my kitsch decor! The legs fold back for storage too!

 I forgot to add, this one, was also in the lot with the winking kitty, etc!! A vintage Rune Naito White with red dotted Mother cat and baby cat coin bank. So cute. In lovely condition, just missing its rubber stopper. I will add this to my Etsy shop soon! Quite rare too!

 These adorable Lefton Wall pocket Ballerinas I found through Etsy! Missing one member, they were still in lovely condition and sold real cheap. Sadly, when they arrived, they smelled of really strong cigarette odor, so I cleaned them up. It was bad, the whole box reeked! Yuck! I will keep these gals for my decor for now...

 I purchased this lovely bunny or mouse doll head from an online Japan shop. I will definitely find her a body and dress her up! I may go back and buy the others and make them into dolls too? maybe... I also splurged and got myself a vintage Aslan doll, or RARE PIN UP ASLAN DE TECHNIGOM EN PARFAUIT ETAT D'ORIGIN! She is new to me, basically similar to Poupee de Peynet dolls. She is about 9 inches tall and wears a school girl fashion, and came with her sketchbook. She is taller then Peynet dolls and is made with the same or similar foam with rubber and wire concept. She is easily poseable. I love her face. From my research she is a sexy pin up doll, with most of her sisters being dressed risque type clothing, even nude with only boots. I've seen something similar to her before, but didn't think to look into her further, until now. I wonder why I didn't see her while doing Tadie research? Oh well...
