Miner Industries Living Room Boxed Set Found! Part I

I was recently searching for Miner's Rooms again and I saw this blog post here! I decided to try my luck last week and see if I could find any sets being sold, etc. and sure enough, thru ebay I was able to find another boxed set and bought it!! It was a living room set and of course, the seller mentioned that there would be missing pieces and some added pieces etc.

But I decided to try my luck and see what it had. Surprisingly, the set was sold cheap, well at least a lot cheaper then when the furniture is sold alone without a box!! The set was sold Stateside so I knew it would arrive to me quickly and sure enough, in less than 5 days, it was here!!

 The box was torn up, but still salvageable with some tape. I couldn't hold in the excitement, and quickly searched thru to see what was there and what wasn't!

 The set came with the walls, acrylic windows, wall supports, pegs, carpet...

 You can see the tea set (2), (2) clocks, flower vase large and small, lamp, sculpture (3), candle, small cigar box...

 (2) large frame artworks. Most of the plastic pegs and panels weren't removed yet. I noticed that there were extra sets, possibly from another box?

I did find some wood parts loose and only one dried red flower, missing stem(shown above photo bottom right).

 The box above holding the living room furniture we nicely secured, But sadly, not complete.

 The items missing, were the white panel for the one end table, the chair, a leg for the coffee table, the matching side chair was in pieces with a few missing, the floor lamp, I believe a telephone, a bowl, an ashtray...But the pluses of this set out-weighed the missing items. Like, I finally, have a set with the original wall panels, carpet and accessory pieces!!

I found these dried flowers didn't make it below, underneath the liner of the box. They were all off the stems, loose in the box and crushed-_-;

 I began to set it up but it was getting late and we all had to sleep for school. So, I will end the post here for now...more in the morning! If you'd like to read older posts about my other Miner's acquisitions click here...

Modella Dollhouse Furniture!

I received this lovely set of Modella Germany dollhouse living room furniture I purchased thru etsy! I've always wanted to get a set from German ebay auctions, but sadly, most will not send Stateside or they cost too much! So, finding this lovely set from Doll Enthousiast Home etsy shop was to good to be true. This shop often sells amazingly put together dollhouse vintage furniture with a lot of extras and I'm so glad I finally was able to get one from Lussy's shop!

 The set arrived safely to me and fast! I was expecting it to take at least a month to arrive, but believe it or not, it arrived to me in less than two weeks! Whoa! Above, I was even given a little vintage miniature radio for my purchase, how awesome! Also, you can see the fruits and basket bowl that were extras in the purchase! Along with two coffee mugs and an area rug! The original listing is here!

 In 1/12 scale, I can't wait to use it in my Hafner & Krullman Bungalow soon! It may not be a complete set, or it might be a mix and match of furniture? But I'm still happy to have this style of sofa and matching chairs! I've been wanting a set similar to this for some time!!

 Next, I purchased thru ebay this vintage German dollhouse lamp above and below. I figure it would be very cute, in my set up of the scarlet dresser here! Now, it will look a lot like a retro era time in a little girls room in Japan! Can't wait to take pics!!

Then, I was able to snag a Nico-Labo small breast body thru Yahoo Japan. I have yet to decide what to use it with, but it is often advertised to go great with Figma limbs. We will see... It almost reminds me of a 1/12 scale ABJD!! Hmmm, I wonder if my skills of body blushing are still there!! LOL!

 This weekend, I was also able to stop by our local 100yen shop. Only because there was a big sign outside saying, "New Arrivals", I couldn't help but check it out!! I found this cute pink bobby pin case with bobby pins. The case is just too adorable with its "Swan Princess" theme...I may use it to hold tiny treasures instead of bobby pins...

 And I finally did some spring cleaning from some small containers I have, and hope to put up some cute items I got some time ago also from the 100yen shop in my shop on etsy!! Below, a bling Deer sticker to add to your cell phone or smart phone gadgets! Such a cute sticker!

Fascinated by Scary Doll Stories!

As a child growing up in the 70's, my parents often watched bizzarre, Gothic, Sci-fi tv shows, movies, etc., mostly my Dad. And since I slept on a futon in their bedroom. I must admit, I used to hide and pretend to sleep, but I was actually watching the movies as well!! Later, I learned to make sure my kids didn't sleep in our bedroom!!

But, I do have a fascination with scary movies or sci-fi genre tales. So, here are some amazing movies, stories, etc. I must admit, scared the bajeebers outta me! But in a good way!LOL! Check em' out!

 Oh my goodness, Talking Tina is awesome! Though this wasn't as scary as the others I mentioned, still is note worthy for the childhood memories! I love me some Twilight Zone!!

The Doll Master - Here...

I loved this movie, because it featured many Asian Ball-jointed dolls, that I used to collect at the time!

Here are other movies, that have some dolls in it, and others with a cameo, Puppet Master, Dead Silence, The Conjuring, Poltergeist, just to name a few....

I do have one manga doll short story, that I hope to share soon...I have to have it translated. I found it back in the 90's when I used to get the "Margaret" Girl manga series! More soon!

A True Coconut Drink!

I've been trying to hold off on showing you all the progress of the Cobaani Classroom... Only because, I am awaiting a teacher's desk and a few more student desks to come in. But it is coming together nicely though! So pics soon to come...LOL

But I do have something else to share...Though I don't necessarily write about food, sweets, etc., unless it is something from Japan, Here is something I figure I should share if you've never tried it?!

On Guam, of course we have coconuts and many times we've often offered off island guests to try our young coconut milk/juice! But there is all the work of cutting the top and then making a hole for the straw or maybe where you are, there are no young coconuts!?

My husband loves to drink the juice, and so, at one of our local village stores last year, I found a coconut water drink, actually made in Thailand, but distributed out of California, wild huh?! That tastes great, and very similar too what young coconut milk/juice actually tastes like!

There are other coconut drink makers out there, but either theirs taste too sweet, or nothing like coconut juice at all!! This one below, tastes light, not too sweet, is made with natural coconut water, no preservatives, and has bits of coconut in it, Yum!!

The brand also makes one without the pulp, in a darker green color design, for those who might not care for it...But its just plain delicious! As it says on the top of the can "Happiness Inside" is so true!

 It truly hits the spot on a hot, humid day and you've just finished cutting the lawn!! LOL!

 So, if you ever see a can like this at your local grocery, and never tried coconut juice, give this one a whirl, you might just find it heavenly, like we do!! Enjoy!

Cobaanii Showa Era Classroom and Extra!

I decided to spend a bit more and got myself this amazing 1/12 scale Showa/Retro Era classroom kit made by Cobaanii through Hobby Search. These amazing kits are made of wood and are laser cut to be glued and put together by you!! Fun!

Of course this is not the first kit I've purchased, if you recall I bought the garden set here. I decided to get a classroom kit for the cute 1/12 scale desks I have!

 So, I figured I'd also add this cute outfit,( at the bottom of the post) since it was still available!

 There are two types that were restocked thru Hobby Search. The more modern version seems more Elementary in style than this one, with its colors and tile floors. At least with the set I got, you could use it for a High School Classroom setting or an Elementary, etc.

 After opening the kit, it can seem overwhelming, but as I looked thru the parts... I realize that the instructions to it are not as scary as I thought. So, I started off with part I. You will need a type of Tacky glue. I had a similar brand with me, Loctite STIK'N Seal, indoor adhesive, transparent.

 Luckily, the bottom half of the instructions also shows you the numbers for each part. Whew!

 Even with the instructions being in Japanese, its fairly easy to assemble as long as you follow the diagrams. Thank goodness for them! In less than 3 hours, I had completed the classroom. When Taby got home from school I had her make the PA speaker. She loves these types of kits as much as I do!

 Above, the completed classroom. It was so much fun to put together! Now, to add furniture, other miniatures etc. Next, will be a photo shoot using the set!! Hopefully soon! LOL!

Dolly Stickers and Chii!!

Just another day here on Guam...It's been a lot hotter than usual since being back home -_-; This week started more rainy, so it can cool down the humidity here a bit, whew! I really miss the cool weather in Japan now!!

Below, I found some dolly sticker sets at our local 100yen Store this past weekend and forgot to mention them! There are 3 types, but I only got the 2 below. You are supposed to be able to dress and redress the dolls with the different accessories and extras. I got one for Sara and Taby too. Sara has already opened hers and played with her doll. They can restick but after a lot of use they can fall off...So, we'll see when I'm brave enough to open mine up!!??

Staycation, Every Weekend!! Yippee!

Our second weekend at our Staycation condo!! Thanks to our dearest family friend, my Sista Leslie!!

We arrived there Friday evening, made dinner and spent the evening watching TV. It was a late nite and on Saturday, we did some window shopping at Kmart and got some groceries and a bathing suit, since I forgot mine...

 The girls and I were swimming most of the afternoon and it was overcast so the day was nice and chill. By 5pm we were ready to go to the Island Fair nearby, and took almost an hour just to find parking. We found a spot and walked the grounds for a bit. Sorry no photos, I forgot my ipad-_-; Still we enjoyed a bit of live music, barbeque, slushies and cotton candy!!

 By 8pm we decided we were done and it was time to go. We headed back to the condo for dinner and I made steamed rice, we bought some barbeque chicken shish kabobs and made broccoli! It was an awesome dinner for us all!!

 With our bellies full, we relaxed, played with these cool puzzles we got and it was another late night...

Our Staycation was awesome...Next weekend we won't be there, but the following we hope to be!! Hope you all had an awesome one as well!?

Delicious Strawberry Cheese Cake KitKat!!

Since returning from Japan, I almost forgot to share that I had bought some Strawberry Cheese Cake KitKat!!

 The box is cute in the shape of Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms along with the Tokyo Tower!! It was advertised everywhere while we were there!! I saw it at the 7/11 store, at the mall, at the train stations and even at the airport! So of course, I had to buy some and some to give family!! LOL

 So delicious, white chocolate with a hint of strawberry and cheese cake...Yum!! Very rich and decadent!!

 If you ever get a chance to try it, do so! Its simply perfect!!

Yahoo Japan Goodies!

Oh goodness, my Yahoo Japan and AmiAmi items arrived while I was away, but only today was I able to pick them up from the PO!!LOL

 I preorderd the desk set above through AmiAmi, and they were finally released early in April. It includes two sets of desks in 1/12 scale. I also so these while in Akihabara! I was going to grab em' then I realized I had already preordered them-_-; LOL!

 The pieces are very easy to assemble and you probably won't need the directions at the back of the box. It also comes with cutouts to place on top of the desk.

 These desks remind me of desks we had at St. Francis School. I remember when we had moved into a temporary building. I was given middle school desks and chairs for my 4th grade class and these were the types I had! The kids used to put their feet on the side bars, and so would I!!

 Then, my Yahoo Japan winnings above...I was finally able to get the Hot Springs secret sets of the two types, and a Masaka Watanabe finger sponge well.

 I really wanted the secret sets, because of the ladies, as well as the tiny religious cement decor. It would be great to use in my Plastic Dollhouse! Now, that I am pretty much complete with finding items for the plastic dollhouse. I just need to set it up for updated photos with these cute miniatures!!

 This finger sponge well, is cute with Masako's artwork on the top. I will have this item for sale in my shop! First time I've seen this kind of item thru Yahoo Japan. Usually her works are on other things, like books, bags, etc.!
