Believe You Can...

..."and you are halfway there." ~ Theodore Roosevelt

It has been a month of finds and getting back to normal since our mini getaway and life moving forward. So, here are some goodies I've found...

Her name is "Her Prettiness" Powder Bubble Bath by Avon 1960s. I just happened upon her while searching for items. I fell in love with her blank face and hairstyle. On the box it says you can color in her eyes and mouth and create her look. The one I found was not opened and still had the original maroon ribbon inside. Sadly, the crayons are missing. But I had decided that instead of painting her face, I will leave her blank. I like her face as is. I did make her a ruffles lace choker with gem as seen below.

Next, Sara got herself a toy hammock, so I found one for my room as well. I just need to add plushies to it. I love the teal color and how it just pops in this space! It worked great for this corner too of my little room! Below, I got this acrylic stand holder for those anime acrylic or dolly stands from Daiso. Instead I used it for the Pretty Lady paper dolls I made. They are now on my dresser!! Yippee!

Earlier this month I found this lovely Totsy Unopened Pink sheer vintage dolly dress. It fits most 19 - 21 inch dolls. So naturally I had to get it for Alice and sure enough it fits her just right too!! How cute is she below!!

Than, I received in the mail from Japan this lovely huge vintage plush fawn. So adorable and in lovely condition for its age as well. I have already added it to my shop! She is huge so shipping will have to cost a bit more sadly.
Last, this adorable Hello Kitty Licca Chan Vacation dolly. These were released over the summer and when I saw her I immediately thought of Pichipichi friend of Licca from the 60s!! Sadly, they are quite expensive to get nowadays, but this Hello Kitty version is way cheaper!! So, I received her safely from Japan and already tried a few of my Club 67 Licca chan retro fashions on her!!

She is just too cute and a great addition to my little dolly collection. Well that's all for now. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead and happy thrifting or dolly hunting my friends!!

"Whether You Think You Can..."

..."or think you can't, you're right." ~ Henry Ford

Since being back home. It has been really busy, mostly because I have my sister visiting from stateside with her husband, and my family is still on their mini vacation. Haha!

The week before we left for Tokyo Disneyland, we repainted the walls in the living room because it needed an upgrade. Than I found this awesome wooden shelf that is so much like the vintage kitsch shelf of the 60s at Ross! I've noticed that Ross is bringing in a lot of retro furnishings! Nice!! We decided to put up our old baby photos on it because my grandson is old enough to move around and always tries to grab them! So our walls look fresh and new! Yay!

I redressed my Super Berserk in this vintage Chatty Baby dress and added the pink crab headband! She was just too cute and funny! I love it!
Just a little peek at my simple haul from Tokyo Disney. Sara got a Halloween Popcorn bucket, a Lucifer the cat hat and something else. Sorry I forgot. But mine was simple below with a Nightmare before Christmas charm and the Alice dish from the Queen of Hearts Banquet hall. I just love the dish and will definitely have it displayed on my dresser!

I took my sister for some sisterly bonding time to window shop! We stopped by my local Daiso which has moved out of Donki Guam and into Guam Premium Outlets across from Ross. The old Payless Shoe Store area. Then we made our way to Donki Guam and a drive up north to see Camp Ben Blaz the Newest Marine Base on island. That she has not seen yet.

Donki's ad above. I saw this adorable Sally, Jack and Oogie three tiered pumpkin Halloween decor! I wanted it so bad, but sadly, there were none in stock. Ugh! So we just got ourselves some Boba tea at the food court inside Donki, relaxed, talked, and people watched.

It was nice to simply just sit and relax with my sister. She will be leaving soon so I wanted to make sure we spent time with each other. Sadly, no major purchases or vintage finds as of late. I've become accustomed to shopping less now and perhaps that is a good thing for my wallet?! LMAO!

I hope you all are finding what makes you happy these days!

Hugs and much love, ggsdolls

Spread Love Wherever You Go...

..."Let no one ever come without leaving happier." ~ Mother Teresa

Hello September... Since my last post, I've refrained from buying merch from Japan for my shop. I'm just being very cautious these days if I can help it. But here are some items that I found recently stateside...

Found these adorable Storybook Nancy Ann dolls for my shop. Two are listed and I will add the third soon. I've seen them before, but never brought myself to buying any until now. They are bisque dolls with frozen legs, but their arms are jointed. I love their simple faces and cute delicate dresses. Great to display on your dresser or in a dollhouse!

While browsing IG, one of my fellow collector friends showcased these adorable wall plaques with Meyercord decals! I had to have them!! So cute an adorable. Bears dressed up as sailors! These wall plaques will definitely be a great addition to my bedroom. Now, to find a spot! Haha! Below, I found a lot of two doll fashions, one I knew would fit Alice and the other I may add to my shop!

I was right! When I took the blue pajamas out to try on Alice, she fit them perfectly. The pants fit as well considering they are a bit short, but sometimes pajama pants have a short style. She is still just too cute in them and are the last things I dressed her in...

Next, this more recent in age, dolly fashion by Dianne. A pink sweater top for Alice as well. I love finding vintage dolly fashions that can fit her. They don't often fit her, but when I do discover them, they look amazing on her!!

Next, this adorable Premier Doll fashion can fit larger companion dolls, but still was adorable on Alice as well. A very simple pink dress with pleats and ruffled lace sleeves. How can I not get this one for her as well!! LOL

I brought my vintage poodle up here to the village for some photos and to decide if I should display her in my room. She's so cute and looked so sweet with Alice beside her. But, after a day I ended up deciding to put her back in storage for now. I'm trying to limit what I have here.

So precious, I could not help but get these Elzac Hollywood doll brooches. I love them! They both look unique and remind me of pose dolls.

Last, I had ordered back in April more Small Puppy Cotton Candy bjd parts and one body set. I also ordered the puppy ears they offer from the Chinese seller on Taobao. I was so worried about tariffs. But luckily, it was just the shipping that was costly. So perhaps it won't be too bad should I decide to order from Asia again. I did however have to wait three months before they were able to shipped due to manufacturing constraints.

Well, that's all for now. Happy thrifting!

Thank you so much for stopping by! ~ ggsdolls

Some People Want it to Happen, Some People Wish it Would Happen...

..."Others make it happen." ~ by Michael Jordan

This week was a full week of classes for Sara. It is her Senior Year! I am both excited and anxious for her. Mostly, because she will have completed a milestone in life... Graduation. But it is bittersweet to know that my last child will go out into the world and hopefully make it a better place.

Speaking of children...

I was able to find another vintage Puppet Alice loose on the Bay! She sadly, took a month to get to me. Gotta love Ground Advantage, ugh! My plan was to get her a body and than clean her up and make her into a hybrid doll just like my other Alice...

Alice Puppet Before.

I have been asked by several doll collectors if they could buy my Alice. But of course at the moment she is not for sale. I love my Alice. So I decided to make another hybrid and I will offer her up for sale soon. This will be my 3rd Alice hybrid to date. The 2nd Alice was done for another fellow collector in New York and I believe she still has her. So, I ordered a body and cleaned up Alice3 to have her ready. When the body came, I transferred her and dressed her up. But when I put both Alices together, I noticed something wrong immediately?!!

Alice3 and Alice1 side by side after Alice3 cleanup.

The body was the smaller version, ugh!! I forgot that the bodies of this vintage doll I use comes in twenty or twenty-four inches tall. Shoot!! So back to the drawing board. I found and ordered a taller bod. It took another month. So yup, two months in, this venture would take me a bit longer to do. Darn! Notice above side by side, Alice3 is more tan than my Alice1. That's okay, she is still in lovely condition and she reminds me of "Momo" from "Peach Girl" manga series, and she has a lot more fuller hair than Alice1. Also, her eyelashes don't have holes in them! Alice1 does and I just repainted them. I may touch up Alice3's eyelashes.

By early August I got the 2nd body in. So off to work I began on my free days from babysitting. I dressed Alice3 up in a pink adorable lace and stripe number and added socks and gave her Chatty Cathy blue saddle shoes. She is just as lovely as Alice1 and Alice2!!

Alice3 on the left and Alice1 on the right.

Sweet gals for sure! She will come with her original puppet dress washed, a pair of pajamas from the original doll body I used, the pink dress, socks and shoes she is currently wearing. I am definitely pleased with the way she turned out! I hope she will go to a good home and be loved by her new Mommy!!

I am so tempted to keep her!!

Next, this adorable 3D lenticular coin purse wallet of a Liddle Kiddle sleeping beauty and on the other side two plush bears posing with a ball. I found this in a lot overseas and of all places in South Africa!! I thought it was cool to mention, but it also took some time to get to me. Haha!

My favorite side with the bears!

Than, while doing my usual searches, I found this book!! Just look closely... Do you see anyone familiar?! This book version of Alice in Wonderland has an Alice on the cover that resembles, the Eegee Alice!!! You can see why I chose to buy it. This book I got in from a seller in Canada! I will keep for now, especially since I can't find another so easily.

Alice w the book.

Below, I found this adorable Stuffed animal sleeping kitty in pink. She is in great condition and is already listed in my shop. Her bow is original to her. Sadly, no tag, but she is similar to Rushton kitties with out the rubber face. She's so sweet for sure!

Next, two lots of vintage goodies from Japan! Many of the items you see in the lot below are already listed in my shop. There's even a CD of Pink Lady's single, some Snoopy tin plates, and Halloween ornaments!! Most ready for adoption in my Etsy shop! Even the Sanrio Glico toy lot in the next photo! Some I kept, but most have been listed even a cool cube with Hello Kitty Christmas scenery that doubles as a marble game!!

Lastly, this adorable Pink and Black striped Peggy-ann dolly dress mip!! It says it can fit a 20 to 22 inch doll! Sadly, it does not, instead maybe an 18 inch doll. I was hoping it would fit Alice3. Ugh! Oh well, I have other dolls that may fit it. So far, it has been a good start to August, whew!

May you have good thrift finds as well my fellow collectors! Until next post!

Opportunities Don't Happen...

... "You Create Them." ~ Chris Grosser

Summer days have been hot to say the least, but they are being enjoyed. Here are some recent finds that make my little space all the more happier!

Gund 1950s Stuffed Animal
I saw this cutie up for sale on the bay and decided I needed it. A vintage Gund white with pink ears, bunny plush! When she arrived, she was just so minty. Can you imagine? She's like over 75 years old!! She was kept clean and safe all these years and at a decent price too! She will live with me for now...

A closer look. I love that she has her original bow!

Mary R. snow baby plush doll
Next, I found this adorable antique MaWaPhil snow baby dolly!! Her face paint is in lovely bright condition. Needs a bit of TLC, but I will leave that up to her new owner. Love her, she will live with me for a bit!

Ninizee Lamby.
This lovely Ninizee plush lamb! I caved and couldn't resist getting her! I have one other, but this one was just too cute not to get, especially for the colors! Haha! I also got a Popmart Skullpanda Blossom L'impressionnisme version. Love her coloring and face!

Blossom.
Next, this lot of vintage Swimmer Japan hairclips and cell charm! Lovely dolly art inside. They are an adorable addition to my hair clip collection!! I will make the cell charm into a necklace instead! Just too cute!

I was able to display my Japanese Festival mask collection in my bedroom. I've been collecting the masks since our family has been going annually to the festivals every November. My 2nd festival here in this post. But last November they didn't have one and instead the Japan Club of Guam had a Spring Festival this year. Which I sadly wasn't able to attend as I was stateside. Ugh. So Here are most of my masks displayed. I need to get more hooks to display the last one not shown. Still it turned out nicely and it makes me happy to see them up too!

I finally was able to get my lovely Alice to sit on the seat of the Bike plant stand! Now, she is giving the boy a ride!! Haha! I love seeing them displayed in my room! Helping to form my happy space!!

Lastly, my basket of stuffies!! You can see the little MaWaPhil in the basket too! I hope you have a basket of things that you display to make you happy! That's all for now...

Happy Thrifting!
