Microman Arts: Kantai Collection Soryu!

My first experience with Microman Arts figures was posted here! Ayase of Love Live!, was cute and very tiny! But she didn't look much like her anime drawn self-_-; Which made me a bit weary of ordering any more Microman figures in the future...

But, I must admit, this recent release of the Kantai Collection Series: Soryu that I pre-ordered, just in case, they got better!? Arrived to me along with my order of Pico Neemo Fairy Lipu dolls and I just had to post about this very tiny, and better made Microman figure!!

 Box is similar to Love Live!

 The anime character art drawn is so cute and I've been seeing more and more Kantai figures being released! "Kantai Collection" is a video game that is very popular in Japan these days. Girls dressed up as different ships with armor, quite interesting I must say. But I prefer to take off all the armor, but that's just meh! LOL

 Soryu out of box. She comes with her bow and arrow, her shield and stand.

 Her face is so cute! Very much like the anime character on the box with lovely blue eyes! I am very pleased with this face version!

 I decided to take off her armor, yukata sleeves and skirt part. She is so cute with her zories! Her tiny hands can be a bit of a challenge, they are connected with a joint that fits into her wrist, but when you are putting the hand onto the joint, before it goes into the wrist, sometimes you may need to apply a bit of pressure to lock the joint in place. The scary part is losing the hand or joint! Eek! Hopefully, they make a better way of keeping the joints from coming out easily?!

 Outside shots, Soryu getting ready to shoot her arrow for some breakfast! She is quite tiny and can be a bit difficult to pose. Her knees don't bend too easily and sitting is a bit of a trick because of the skirt.

 But, still she is lovely and true to her anime drawn character! Yay!

 She is 90mm, maybe 1/12 scale or more like 1/18 scale, but just seems so much smaller, to me?! I will have to do a comparison shot with my MMS Figure! I'll attach that to this post a bit later!

Updated below, comparison photo of Microman Arts figures and Konami MMS figure both supposed to be 1/12 in scale, but upon checking both Amiami and Hobby Search, she is 90mm or 3.5 inches tall. So, more like 1/16 scale...

Vintage Mid Century Modern Organizer!

I wanted to showcase this amazing Retro Mid Century Modern plastic organizer from 1975!! I've always seen these amazing organizers as many of my friends thru etsy fave them. So, I finally decided to get one, and I'm so glad I did!

 This lovely MIB organizer is by Norbert Specialty Corp. NY 1975 and made in the USA! They are often up for sale via etsy shops. They can be very expensive, depending on the color you get. To find this one still with its box is amazing!

 I love the design with its Mod style and often reminds me of the good ole' days if you love Atomic or Mid Century Modern styles!

 I've seen them come mostly in Yellow, Green, Red, Orange, White, and Blue colors, but blue I think is a rare color?! There are also several versions I've seen. This one is the most common, but there are others with more elaborate sizes with more drawers and pen holders. I've also seen smaller versions too with just two drawers and a pen holder.

 I personally got myself a yellow one! Can't wait to use it too!

Lotte Licca Miniature Furniture Toys

While searching for more Glico girly toys, I came across a Japan website selling some Lotte Licca miniature furniture toy set! I was able to get my dear friend to order them for me, and they arrived! Yippee!

 I was able to order the last four set the seller had and for really cheap too! Three of the sets, I don't have in my collection. So, I will add the extra desk set to my shop soon! You can see my past post on this here!

 This kitchen set above, comes with frying pan and spatula. The oven door opens too!

 This lovely bed set is so cute! Has a shelf with a cabinet that opens, a pillow, a book, and a lamp that you can clip to the shelf! 

 

 This amazing Closet with dresser drawers! The top half can be taken apart.

 Inside, there is a mirror, with railing and hanger.

 All three sets together. I will have to take some pics of the sets I have so far!?

Retro Polyloid Japan Furniture!!

LOL, I'm finally posting a bit more about the 'polyloid' vintage Japan dollhouse furniture I won back at this post here!! Hehe, I'm just so swamped these days with taking care of my shop and other things in life, that I wasn't able to put together my Miner's room to showcase this lovely set... So, here it is!!

 I won this set back in late September, and not much is known about them. Until I did some digging up via online... A dear friend of mine named, Mikiko often spoke of these type of vintage dollhouse furniture made in the 1950s and 60s called, "Polyloid" a type of plastic celluloid toys made in Japan.  You can see one of her "Oshare" or 'Fashionable" Radio's here on flickr and other pieces on her blog here. All of the pieces are light weight and shiny.

 Not quite sure if this was a part of that series of toys, but they are similar. The credenza above is beautiful with its contrasting pink sliding doors. It has, if you can see, a clear shelf just above the cabinet doors for you to place a radio or miniature DVD player.

 This closet with drawers that can open and you can place tiny clothes and hangers inside. All of the pieces have a lacquered wood finish.

 This lovely dresser and mirror. Reminds me of a dresser my parents used to own back in the day. Sadly, I don't know if it came with a stool or chair? Very delicate, I'm sure if you placed anything heavy in weight on it, it would crack. They are about 1:18 in scale. Which would be lovely in the Miner's Rooms.

Then, I also received these vintage potted plastic plants via ebay! A nice set of flowers I don't have yet! They will be great to use in a garden scene!!

Some Goodies From Japan!!

It was a good mail day today!! I received a nice small packet from Japan with goodies that I mostly wanted!

 I got a Desk set, Margaret erasers, Takara fox friend of Pinocchio parts, a lot of retro girly glico toys, and a compact.

 These MIB erasers I will add to the shop by Margaret Venice, with lovely retro anime girls on them. I will keep one set for myself!!

 This lovely unopened compact. I got for myself. Its also a necklace. I thought might have tiny accessories in it?!

 The set is missing the books. But still amazing and so tiny too!

 This fox friend of Pinocchio from a Japan TV series. Only a head and leg, but I figure it will work on the Pinocchio I have that is missing a leg! Maybe I could interchange the parts to play both characters!?

 I love Japan sellers with their creative ideas. Above the baggy had some cute artwork on it! To cute!

I also received a trade packet from my dear friend Missy!! Yippee! Can't wait to use the goodies she sent me!

 I love her mail to me, she always decorates the envelopes too!!

 ...and when you open up the envelope inside is a wonder of goodies from her!! I always love the smell of her hangies and prints, like walking thru a sweet smelling candy store!! Hmmmm! I love you Missy thank you soo much for my trade!! I will treasure these goodies!!
