The Temptations...Ugh!

Oh my goodness, there are so many wonderful things that have been found through my usual searches the past few weeks... It was truly hard to remind myself not to put it in my cart and buy it! I am not one to collect vintage furniture pieces, but I will admit, if I had the room, I would jump into that collection head first! My home would be filled with vintage Knoll, Saarinan, and even Bertoia pieces!

So, I told myself, a few small pieces would be okay... LOL Now back to the present...I do own an inflatable stool which sits by my doll cabinet to this day, and now this new piece I received in the mail!

A vintage 1960s Mid Century Modern plant stand! I found this amazing piece thru etsy here! On my newsfeed, I have a few friends I follow that share their favorites and I would have never known about the plant stands if they hadn't shared... I had seen several before and oh my goodness, the loveliness of the styling, patterns and colors they all have. So, recently, I convinced myself to purchase the cheapest one I could find... and I did!

 All the way from Poland. This three legged tiny table is just amazing!

 I especially love the counter top design with its vintage mosaic pattern. Also reminds me of the decor in one of those vintage Vero dollhouses from Germany!

Its three long wooden tapered legs are worn, but, still beautiful. When I put it together, Sara thought it was a stool for her to sit on?! I immediately, told her "Please never sit on this." She looked at me a bit confused, I said it was old and meant to hold an indoor plant. Then, she understood a little better. A teachable moment for sure. After explaining that it was old and may not be strong enough for her bottom. She smiled and said, "It's cute Mom!" Haha, glad learn she had good taste too!

I have yet to decide where it will go, maybe next to my inflatable stool by the dolly cabinet... or closer to me as I sit and admire my vintage pieces... Will it hold a plant, probably not, but maybe a cute doll or toy?! Yes, perhaps...

I forgot to mention all the other goodies that were released recently, like the New Kikipop girls here, and a recently ended Tadie Muz dollhouse and doll on ebay here, the latest Atomaru Hobby Japan release doll here! Oh my!

I decided against buying this latest release Kikipop girls...trust me it was very hard, but I am proud of myself for resisting. The Tadie Muz dollhouse and doll included was amazing, still it was missing the kitchen set, and Bertoia chairs! So, I decided to just sit and watch the listing, the doll did have her original shoes though... ugh! As for Hobby Japan and their special Aram doll, I will have to pass as well, you have to win the lottery first before you can have a chance to buy her...

Oh well, hope everyone is getting ready to enjoy the Halloween season coming up?! It will be fun, can't wait!

Some Mail Today!!

Monday was a holiday, "Columbus Day" here, so sadly, the Post was closed. I had to wait til' Today to pick up my 4 boxes, or so I thought... instead there were 5 boxes! All small packet stuff, but still a happy mail day for me!

 A small packet from Yahoo Japan. Two items in it, a retro vintage squeaky toy, and a retro girls toy accessory set! Both will be added to my collection.

 I fell in love with the cute retro kitty brooch... So, I decided to bid on it. When it arrived, it has so many cute vintage girly trinkets! Back side of the case.

 You can see all the cute trinkets, a pair of rose earrings, two key chains, a pair of beaded hair ties, two types of hair clips, a watch, fish brooch, necklace with girl pendant, cat brooch, pearl necklace, colorful beaded bracelet, five rings, and a set of stickers!

 I may just keep it to keep other cute vintage girly accessories in?!

Also, this cute vintage retro squeak toy bunny! I've been wanting one since seeing them on Milbee's Toy shop via instagram!! She had a complete unopened set of three cuties for sale long ago, but of course someone snatched them up fast!

The beary below that I won, and in need to a good washing too! Here she is before cleaning...

 Below, the 'made in Japan' markings. She is a cute open eyed yellow 'Bunny'. There is a closed eyed pink 'Bear', and a open eyed blue 'Squirrel'.

Then, I also received a new acrylic miniature vase below!

From ebay, this one I love more than the orange one! It so mod looking with its swirls and coloring! This will go into Tadie's house!

I finally received this cheap set of Mary Quant Daisy table & chairs thru ebay! I won it back in early September, but it took almost a month and a half to get to me from the UK?! I generally understand, that it will take some time to get to Guam, but over 30days?! The seller must have sent it on a boat, because it was on parcel post instead of priority or even first class and it was so light it would've gotten to me sooner?! I know I paid the shipping price of priority mail... oh well-_-;

The set is missing the plates, utensils, napkins etc. and there are two chairs that are broken from the base. Thus, the reason I got it so cheap! I wanted it as a substitute to Tadie's dining table that is missing and maybe I could use the chairs as replacements? I will see?

 I will need to break out Tadie's furniture to see if the chairs can match this table or not? I will say this much, the tulip chairs are the same type of tulips chairs in the vintage Modella's set here, only that the base is longer than the regular 1/12 size tulip chairs by Modella... I will show a comparison photo soon!

Last, are these two amazing minty vintage 'made in Japan' Christmas Flower Felt Ornaments from Ebay! There was somewhat of a bidding war, but these cuties are so worth it!

 Look familiar?! Yup, just like my dear Holly here! They are the same style and cuteness! I didn't know they made them as flowers, until now! Nice!

 They will be added to my felt ornament collection! See them in my cabinet below!

More 3D Shadow Box Art Creative-ness!

I started to work on some of my 3D Shadow Box art recently... I was inspired while helping Sara to do her Social Studies project on Land Forms. Don't ask, how that was inspiring, but it was! LOL

The first and last time I worked on it, I didn't like what the outcome was for a "Fairy in the Forest" art ended up. So, I shelved it for quite some time, and never looked back. I even trashed my printouts, ugh. Though I wish I hadn't! Oh well, so I decided to redo a "Wedding" art instead, that was sorta done, but rushed and never really followed through, until the other day!

I took it out of my creative box storage and looked at the pieces again. Luckily, I didn't glue down anything! Whew! I printed out some new backgrounds and used the vintage Ribon Paper dolls that I already had in it...

What it looked like before placing it back into the shadow box frame above. Not shown, but, I covered the edges with black construction paper to hide the areas that are not covered in the background.

 It turned out a lot better than I had originally made it, whew!

Then, I got inspired to make this one below... A "Kodama" art from Studio Ghibli's "Princess Mononoke"!!

 There was a lot of amazing art on them! So, What do you think?!

My first attempt below of Marina back in August 2014. You can see the difference. I didn't clean the edges as much. But, as with all things, we learn from the previous experience...

 Also, this one of Chiruru from "Cutey Honey". Tabytha helped me be cleaner with my cuts on the foam. They both still hang on my bedroom wall!

These are so much fun to create, I may make more in the future, for the shop, perhaps?!
Oh and, by the way, these are 8" X 10" Shadow box frames, they come in 2 packs.

The thing that inspired me to start on them again! She was very proud of her project!

Busy with Life...

It's been a crazy busy weekend and week! Whew! I just realized I didn't share with you a great place we visited from last weekend!? Okay, I think "Old Age" is setting in... eek!

This past Saturday, we went grocery shopping and decided to take the kids to a restaurant we wanted to try out name Takoyaki Cafe Tama! We saw it on our Local TV show "The Mix" in video below, about a neat place that opened up back in March, but only now were advertising?!

First, I made sure to order the Melon Soda Float!

 A 7-up, melon flavoring, and vanilla ice cream! The girls and I ordered one each! Sam got unsweetened ice tea...

 Above, is the Takoyaki 'Hot Dog' for Sara along with fries, not shown. Each ball had tiny little hot dogs inside! It was yummy!

 Both Sam and Taby ordered the regular Takoyaki with octopus! The fish flakes on top of the Takoyaki kept dancing from the steam coming off of the balls! It was interesting to watch!

 Mine was the Yakisoba you see in the first photo with egg. It was delish and very filling too!

My soda in the end... it was so good!! I will definitely come back to try the desserts next time! LOL. It was a bit pricey, but hey one can splurge once in a year, right?!

Today's Mail from Around the World!

Today, I received some goods from around the world... Places like Japan, Germany, China, and USA!

This amazing Vintage 1970s German Bodo Hennig Living Room Set came from an etsy shop in the U.S.! I had been eyeballing this wonderful set for a few years now... When I first saw it, I knew where it came from but, I was patiently waiting for the seller to drop the price... and it was worth the wait!

 My set came with the mod paper lamp you see, two blue with white fuzzy chairs, two orange fuzzy chairs with white, and a wooden coffee table with metal base. I'm not sure if the coffee table and lamp are original to the set as you can't see them in the complete set from the link below?! The set is missing the shelf system, the shag carpet, and white coffee table and mod lamp! You can see the complete set here!

 Still, the set is amazing and I know they will look great in Tadie's House too!

 The lamp above, has plastic sheet paper with metal base stand, and plug. The bulb was not in the lamp... A gorgeous addition to my collection!

 This lovely vintage German Retro TV viewer. I have plans for this one!!? More soon!

I received the second release Kikipop Dolls also from Japan! I will add these to my For Sale Page if you are interested?! I reserved these gals back in February, thinking I might miss out on the release, but my friend was able to get my gals from the first release!! Ugh! Too many Lovelies, I can keep up with them all... So they will be available at regular price!

 My copy of the DollyBird Volume 22 came in as well from Japan! Can't wait to see all the hub-bub Atomaru is getting for her lovely Doran Doran Aram dolls! So happy for her!!

Finally, these amazing retro 1/24 scale television sets from China! I got them through ebay! They're cute with Mickey, but I wanted to watch something else! So...

 I upcycled them with retro anime I can't resist!!

 Above, the red TV and below the yellow TV. Both will be added to my shop!

They are great in 1/24 scale dollhouses or even in 1/12 scale too! Cute and retro!
