Recent Finds!

May is on its way out... So here's what I found recently...

I found this lovely vintage baby gift wrap and its just so adorable. Babies in little hats and bonnets! In lovely condition too. A great addition to my gift wrap little collection. Below, I brought my Alice doll up to the village house to have her displayed on my bike stand. She looked great in my display. I simply love waking up to my little room!!

Next, I finally received a doll I ordered back in March from MiodollMio.com via a friend. I was in search as you know for more Small Puppy Cotton Candy dolls that are 5cm. I found Miodoll had them available for sale. This version has a different hair style and was painted by the shop as I requested. No eyes given so I had to put my own. She is truly adorable, but sadly just 1 centimeter taller than my original Small Puppy doll. Oh well, I still think she is unique and that's all that matters!

Below, from Mother's Day! Tabytha gave me this adorable handmade paper heart with some yummy Kanaf Chocolates in various flavors, sorry no photo of the inside. I decided to keep the heart it came in. Just too cute to throw away, LMAO!! I also, saw on instagram that a fellow collector, KitschyFlower was selling some cute finds he had. So I DMed him to buy this lovely vintage Krueger bunny doll. He's so unique and adorable!
Just look at his coloring and sleepy face! Definitely a keeper! Next, the latest Kabaya Jewel Box release with rare pendant inside!! This rare red heart pendant necklace, I was so thrilled to get! Now to display it!! Lately, I've been smitten by toy jewelry or toy trinket boxes, oh boy not good!! Haha!

There is also a blue and pink heart. Let's hope I can get these too?!! Haha! Just look at these cute toy rings by Tarin Kirameki a complete set. Each comes with a display stand and each of the rings look realistic. Not metal but plastic. Still cute and fun to me! Swimmer recently released on May 15th these adorable animal anthropomorphic mugs or tea cups!!

I am just in aww by them. The vintage styles are similar to a set I used to own here in this post. These are kitschy cute animal tea cups great for display in a collection. I bought the lamb, bunny and kitty to complete my set because I got the bear here in this post. I did end up getting another complete set for another buyer...

The tea cups are freakin' cute and Swimmer is even coming out with more cute styles!! Ugh the temptation!! Haha! I had to get these Swimmer appliques above. Only the bunny and lamb I found. Hopefully next time I can find the bear and kitty. Cuteness overload for sure!
Vintage Swimmer heart jewel cases, are the bees knees!! I found a complete set and got them. Swimmer, why do you have so many cute things!! Haha! Below, I added this panda bear applique to my collection. I am trying not to get more appliques but it is hard to resist adding them to my collection. Especially when you see them at your local Daiso. LMAo!

I hope you had a great May! Summer is here, so be sure to enjoy it, because it goes fast!!

Happy Hunting my friends!

"The Unexamined Life..."

..."is not worth living." ~ Socrates

February is on its way out! Here are my recent vintage finds, etc. for the past few weeks...

Below, I found this adorable vintage music box tower with ballerina. It was up for auction via Yahoo Japan with no takers. My guess is because of the lime green lid. Definitely not desirable. So I bidded on it and won it for a good price. As soon as I got it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do to upcycle it and get it more desirable as a collectible!

Auction pic of the tower before.

So, I took the lid off and spray painted it in pink! After a day of drying, I decided to find my miniature vines from my dollhouse supplies and added that to one side. I then, decided to add some pink satin bows and sure enough, I fell in love with this adorable and unique music box tower.

The upcycled tower!

The wind up key is underneath still in lime green and it also serves as a turn table, so that when the music plays the tower turns. While inside the lovely ballerina turns and dancing in a circle inside the tower. The top is lined with red velvet and is where you would put your rings and other simple jewelry. I love how the additions turned out.

Adorable blue stand ballerina, that matches better!

It definitely gave a more sweet and pink coquettish vibe to the music box. I will keep it for now. Onto other upcycled finds... Haha! Below, I took this adorable Swimmer white magnet board and instead made it into a Brooch or Pin board. I love the blue rosette ribbon I found at Michaels last summer and used it and then felt patches along with my Junichi Pin collection to decorate it with. Definitely turned out what I had hoped for and a lovely way to display brooches too!

These sweet vintage Japan dolly lot of 2, I got from Japan. They were each wearing Scarlet and Tammy doll clothing that was way to big for them. So, I changed it out to some vintage dolly fashions I had on hand. These fashions fit them just perfectly. So I listed them in my shop. I love there faces!!

Next, the lot of doll fashions that was worn by the little dollies above. They are selling in a lot in my Etsy shop. The fashions fit Tammy, Scarlet and Sindy dolls. Below, I got this lot of sweet Sylvanian Family kitty babies and they are also listed in my shop! Just look at there sweet furry faces!!

The adorable vintage teddy plush below is almost minty, with tag by Trudy Toys! A lovely beige and off white coloring. This cute vintage bear is also in my shop and available!
I brought my vintage ceramic Anart tall deer fawns here to the Village house. Lovely and they make me smile. I decided to let go of the blue fawn and the recasted pink fawn. I will keep just one, my tall pink one. I think it was time for me to let them go. The blue fawn was adopted right away to a lady in California. I also am sharing a lot of Kabaya Jewel box jewelry toys. So many cute pieces I kept and a few to add to a new listing in my shop selling blind box gatchas. If you check my shop I have a lot that will give you five different blind box gatcha toys with extras at a decent price too!!

Above, I got this adorable Takara Mascot box of an I love you doll for a fellow collector, but he didn't buy it, so instead it sold fast to someone else. Oh well. I'm just glad there are always other people that may be interested should some of my customers change there mind on a purchase. No harm, no foul! LMAO!

Last November I decided to preorder the adorable Sleepy Biscuit Baby plush and they arrived to me in early February. Too cute. I love the Chocolate Chip men most! Baby Biscuit is definitely cute and in her pajama garb she is just too cute. I am finding myself not bond with her as much so I may list her in my shop. But she is quite unique for sure!

These adorable glass gatcha miniature trinket dishes in rainbow coloring are so cute! I got the lot and kept a few and added a few to my shop. So far, one sold! They are great to hold your wedding ring or your favorite rings. Quite unique too! I found a Fairytown Ribo collab Easter Boy bunny in box and he is also added to my shop! Still so sweet and adorable. I believe he is missing a candle! Still sweet!

Last but not least some items for my sweet small puppy cotton candy baby. I bought 2 sets of eyes to change out the original ones he had. Made by the lovely Roseden on X. These eyes are so cute!! And they change the look on him dramatically too!! I also bought some tiny fashions for him by Meisen Shop! I love the cute knitted fashions she sells just for these cuties!!

Top: Original Pink Eyes, Mid: Big Teal eyes, Bottom: Blue eyes.

A view of the eyes above. Subtle differences, but there are differences none the less and give my sweet puppy cc a new look every time!! Just in awe by this cutie for sure!!

Life in vintage thrifting often changes with the times. Though I've been mostly busy babysitting these days. I still do try to make it a point to find some things when I can.

Happy Thrifting my friends!

"She Spied on Our Lives...

...through the little doll's eyes..." - Sweet Ghost Girl. "Coraline"

September has come and gone and now October is here. Yay! Halloween here we come! It has been a nice beginning to October. I've slowly been receiving some long awaited packages. Yup, the mail has gotten slower and will continue to be just as slow, unfortunately. I saw on the news, that container ships are all just waiting in the waters surrounding ports around the world to be off loaded, but well, it is what it is. And USPS is also charging more now too. So, here's what I got...

This is a lovely vintage 1930s ceramic toddler girl figurine, that reminds me a lot of those adorable Sun Rubber or Ruth Newton squeak babies we see often. This one, I was told by a fellow collector on IG is similar to a Irwin a brand that makes a doll named, "Miss Adorable". Not sure? Still it's lovely to find some type of information. The photo after is the rubber squeak my fellow collector friend has and the ceramic one side by side. Thank you Kayla for the info. and letting me share her rubber squeak too!!

Next, I found this adorable vintage ceramic tea bag strainer fish. It's missing the leaf plate, but he was just too adorable to pass up. I love his big eyes! Then, I also found this lovely vintage foldable basket organizer from Germany. I've often seen these in red and made in France. But, to find one that is in pink and with adorable bears on it. Yesss, please!! Haha. Great for holding all my cuties in one place!! I even took it out with my little baby bun and did a photo shoot too! Love the coloring. It is rare to find it in pink!

I also received a surprise mail from Canada!! From a dear sweet friend, Alvina. I was very touched by the card and gift! Truly JoujouKawaii on IG is the sweetest and made my day! The card was just as adorable and inside what she wrote was so touching and kind words. I love you A. Thank you my dear sweet friend! I will treasure my little cutie for sure!!

Just some random goodies, I also found... 2021, Kabaya Jewel Box chocolates. Already a new design. I still haven't found the others from last year. LOL Oh well. They are cute, but not as cute as last years design. Always fun to see what comes out from Japan for these blind boxes. I also found a few things to resell in my shop from online Japan shops. Some of these cuties are sold out and no longer offered, Twiggy Mini dolls, Sekiguchi Mame Momoko dolls, and this lovely Anime Licca style doll still mint in box. So they are already listed in my shop, and in time for Christmas too!!

I found other colors of the plastic vintage deer buttons! I will keep these in my collection for now. From a fellow collector, he shared his adorable ornaments from an artist in France. I also bought these two to add to my tree this year. They are made of a soft rubbery type of clay when dried. Just too cute and they are light too! An adorable My Toy bunny I used 'buy it now' from ebay to fix his ears and resell. He sold just today! Already packed and ready to go to his new owner in Canada!!

Next, I've been searching for other dolly clothes for my little Betsy! A wooden bisque doll from Japan. So, these Totsy fashion doll coat and bonnet, were perfect when I saw them. Of course I wasn't sure they'd fit, and they did! Betsy looks so adorable. I also found her some Suzy Cute doll fashions, that fit too. A bit large and maybe more for a baby than a toddler doll. But, I just need to pair them with pants maybe instead of just the panties.

This vintage celluloid Humpty Dumpty toy rattle was too cute to pass up. I love his quirky face too! A great addition to my little collector of props and toys. I also used 'buy it now' for this Rushton Scrappy bear. He just needed a good wash and slight cleaning. He ended up being so minty cute, I decided he was a keeper! Haha. Darn it. Also from Japan this lovely Vanavana Rushton style Pajamas, already listed in my shop. They are too cute with adorable Rushton and My Toy plushie art on them. They are 160cm size in Japan or a 13/14 in Teens. I had Sara model them and even on her they are big. So maybe a size 6X or 7 in Womens.

This adorable celluloid baby rattle has a face and bonnet. I love this style rattle, my first one too. They can be expensive unfortunately. Darn. Oh well. I added a satin bow. Her original one was faded and ripped. I also found another plush basket pup with chain. I listed it in my Etsy shop and it sold within 24 hours. I was definitely surprised. But, happy someone adopted her. Too cute in red too! They aren't often seen even in Japan. I think because most collectors keep them! Ha!

My first set of vintage 1950s fabric baby books above, by Whitman. These are mint and still had their wrapping around it. I'm keeping two of them and the other 2 are sold now. Below, I also received another set, preowned, but still in lovely condition. I listed 2 of the books from this 2nd set. It had only one book that was the same as the first set, "Baby's Things." I love the graphics and Whitman always has adorable graphics in their books, depending on the year it was published.

I'm still awaiting four boxes from Japan that were sent seamail. Ugh. It is well over a month now. Hopefully sometime soon.

How is your collection growing? Have a safe weekend everyone!
