Small Package from Japan today!

I decided to get a few of the items I won via Japan sent to me this week. A few cute items for the shop, but mostly for a rare item that I came across and won!
I found another cute Aki square jewelry box, a margaret cute girl overlay, Pop fancy purse with jewelry accessories, a stationary envelope set as a gift from a seller, and a Lot of 2 rare and lovely Macoto memo booklets!
A closeup above of the Margaret overlay. Has lovely shoujo style anime girl and her kitty. I love the red gingham print in the background. This overlay is quite different from the others in my collection, in that there is a clear vinyl that covers this image and you put it over the image to protect as you write on a sheet of paper!
Sweet Rose and Sweet Violet memo booklets. Have lovely Macoto T. artwork on them. They seem more recent and not as old as his usual stuff, but these rare booklets cost me quite a lot of moolah-_-; I am deciding whether to keep one and sell one or not?
Inside you can see the lovely Macoto notepad, and a card on the left. Inside is a place for your coins and a small pocket. Quite rare indeed!

A treasured item found...

Last week, while doing my usual searches. I checked my dear friend's shop and found this amazing piece she was selling! I was so happy that it was still available, and decided to buy it. The item arrived to me today, and it has become one of my most treasured item to date!

Description: This is a lovely vintage "Margaret" anime folding fan. Made in Japan in the seventies and beautifully illustrated by Masako Watanabe. It is in unused condition and the front design still shows its original color. However, due to age, the parts made of wood and the back of the paper fan has discolored and there are marks.
Amazing that it has kept its beauty after all these years. I am guessing it is about early 60's? The wood is showing age, but otherwise the color and artwork is vibrant!
It came with its original clear vinyl cover and still has the tag in Japanese for the Margaret brand.
Lovely galaxy-eyed girl along with Masako's signature. I have fallen in love with this one!

Thank for reading my rambling...LOL! - ggsdolls

Shipment in this week!

Well, lately, I've been focusing on finding things to sell in my shop the past month or so. It's been nice and I've found many wonderful treasures, but it is so hard to tell myself, "No, I can't keep it!" LOL! I mean, yes, it is wonderful I get first dibs and all, but lately, I've often had to go back to my collection and say, "Nope, its gotta go!" Great for my buyers, sad for me-_-; But I will be okay...I just need to stay focused...

So, here are some of the items that came in this week!

I was lucky enough to win a second Lot of Chieko Hosokawa sketch bags 2 weeks ago. This lot is very similar to the last one, but the bag with the retro girl in yellow is a button closure bag instead of the usual zippered closure style. Same design and look as the last two I had and sold fast in the shop! I also found a Lot of 2 colored pencil tins. This amazing vintage back pack with artwork by Sachiko? I need to do some research for her artwork...A lovely Robot and retro girl shoe bag, an airplane purse style bag with artwork that looks like Junichi N. but it is not signed, and finally, a Lot of 2 Hi bag with Koichi name artwork. A nice pair of vinyl totes too!

This lovely vintage kinder backpack with Kanna Sachiko artwork? Lovely retro girl and her kitty. The bag is lovely, but well used, with marks, and dirt to be cleaned...I would like one in my collection, but still deciding?

Lovely anime girl colored pencil tin. I love the vintage southern belle look!

Most if not all of these lovely treasures will be added to the shop. So check back often!

Items that arrived today...

It's been really busy, but I am glad that these items arrived today, so I am able to place them in the shop! Check out what came in this week!

I won this lovely Chieko Hosokawa shoe bag, another vintage doll closet, this cute kewpie style soft baby doll, a set of colored pencils with a cute pose dolly box! The cute anime girl colored pencil tin, a rubber ducky with rattle ball, a set of boy and girl squeak toys, and finally, a set of Doggie trinket boxes or containers like Ayumi Uyama cute!!

This lovely Chiyoko H. colored pencil tin, a bit newer than my usual finds, but I still love the anime girl and kitty. The pencils were unused.

These cute retro plush doggie containers are just too cute. I am having a hard time letting go of them! Great for trinkets and such!

This precious kewpie soft baby doll, came with a lot of squeak toys you see above. I just love that he is able to lay on his belly!

Most have been added to the shop with the exception of the pencil tin. Thanks for reading!

More details about some of the items I got...

Today, I wanted to share with you a few more details about the items I recently got. So without further adieu...

The wonderful Madeline notebook, besides it having a beautiful front cover, inside is a lovely shoujo anime paper doll with clothes. Just too cute! Most of the pages are white blank sheets like a sketch book, but it's for painting!
This lovely Rose of Versailles kinder shoe bag is just too cute. Similar to my dear friend Xoxo's this one was lovingly used, but I am happy to have found one for myself to keep^_~ I may put the one pair of cute anime girl slippers in it!?
This lovely scarlet pencil case I got from an online shop via japan. I love the sweet girl on front, but mostly what drew me to this case is that it is a double-sided case. I do not have any of those in my collection!

While stateside, I found some silver metallic paint at Walmart and I plan to use it to touch up the dark Janica TV. I am awaiting a new shipment from Japan next week, and looking at my collection and slowly downsizing many things. These days, my love for galaxy-eyed goodies have taken over, my dolly wants. So, I am looking into what needs to be re-homed...

Thanks so much for reading! - ggsdolls

I'm Back on Island!!

The past few days I was stateside in WA. I left last week Wednesday, so that I could bring my Dad back to Guam for my mother's 1st Anniversary Rosary. It was a nice short, but short trip. While I was away, some items arrived in the mail and today, I was busy getting sold items mailed out and taking pics of the new stuff that arrived. It feels good to be back home!
My new items from Japan. Mostly for me though...from left to right: Yukiko Tani makeup container, cost me a lot for this one...eek! A cute Rose of Versailles Shoe bag, Dolly dresser for the shop, Himeko pendant, pink music box, Cute Notebook, and a vintage apron!
Went through a bidding war for this one. Quite expensive for my taste, but so lovely to look at. Yukiko Tani's artwork just amazes me...she makes her anime girls look so realistic!
Lovely Madeline Painting Notebook on the bottom. I just couldn't pass up. I love the large face and eyes, a very unique style notebook I must say. Then, I also found another Himeko style jewelry this one is a pendant in silver. I will have to take pics of both side by side later on.

It feels nice to be home and back to the swing of things too! Thanks for reading. - ggsdolls

Vintage Blossoming Water Flower and More...

I finally was able to order a vintage blossoming water flower thru HeyYoYo on etsy! I was always intrigued by them and at the same time it was always sold out. We got it in the mail today along with a cute Hostess cupcake container, I just couldn't pass up!

Above the cupcake by Hostess, very cute container for secret stuff, etc. and The lovely blossoming water plant. We just couldn't wait to try out!!

Here's the description: This is an all time Japan classic. Japan exported several styles of water flower novelties. It was one of the first Penny Toys that they made after the war. Several versions were made right up into the early 1960’s. This is a version made in the early 1950’s. You remove the wax paper envelope and drop it into a glass of water. Over a short period of time, usually about 5 minutes, they expand and blossom right before your eyes into a beautiful, colorful bouquet of flowers. Fun to watch!

Water flowers are delicately hand made from sea sponge and rice paper and wire. They are compressed between glass and dried in the sun. They are squeezed down to about 10% of their fully developed size. When they are immersed in water, they slowly swell up and open into large vivid multicolored flowers. It is intriguing to observe the slow, expanding growing action. These flowers are made around a fine vertical wire embedded in a small stone pot. They are 4 ½ inches high. When they bloom, they fill a glass of water with a stunning bush of green foliage with spectacular flowers. Perfect Condition.

We tried to find a clear container, so we could make it last forever, no such luck...so this glass was all we could find. Still we loved the colors and the way the air bubbles just sat on each of the flowers as it soaked up the water!

So dreamy to look at! You can see the air bubbles sitting on the blue carnation. This reminds me of those flower decor sealed in acrylic glass that you could look at as a paper weight or light bulb from the 60's and 70's!

Also, my sweet Jenny wearing a Crissy vintage mod copycat fashion I won thru ebay. Looks really nice on her!

This Week's Arrivals from Japan!

Whoa, it's been nice to be able to buy a bit more via Japan auctions then the last year or so! I've been mostly, buying anime items like pencil cases, tins, etc. Not really anything dolly related these days-_-; Oh well, on to the goodies!!

Many lovely anime bags! This shipment, had a Lot of bags. Seriously, a Lot...Hehe! I won two separate lots of one set of 3 bags, and one set of 5 bags. Some of the bags I've had before in my shop, like the pink mylene bag, and the Masako W. bags. My fave is the cream colored with red Scarlet Sketch bag with amazing artwork on it. Truly dreamy and I love the combination of cream and red! I also won a vintage colored pencils tin with "Ashita no Joe" or "Tomorrow's Joe" anime manga on it. The guy is a cutie! Most have been listed in my shop, two items are for my collection!

New addition to my pencil tin collection. Lovely anime artwork of the boxer, Joe, above!

The anime girl above is lovely with her green scarf and pink blouse. I was lucky to win this one^_~ Definitely a keeper!!

I am slowly downsizing my doll collection...just keeping a small few if that is even possible^_~ Thanks for reading as always! - ggsdolls

More on the Janica Colored Television Jewelry Box...

While I was searching for more information on the Janica TV's I came across a website called, "Diary of a Showa Boy Adventure" that had another version of the set! This one was mint in box and in rose wood too! Gorgeous I just had to share with you the information and this collector found! The page is here, and you will have to scroll down to see the Janica stereo and TV!

I learned that there are four colored versions, ivory, black, rose, and brown. So far, I have seen 3 of the 4. There is also 4 different songs each of the tv's play. To my surprise, there is a drawer at the bottom, where you see the ruby diamond and gold embellishment, is a pull out drawer! Here I thought there was only a limited space for your jewelry, but there's a whole draw.

Above both tv's with the bottom drawers open, more storage space for your lovely keepsakes and jewelry!

I've always wanted to get one of the stereo's also by Janica, but sadly, they go for a lot more than the tvs-_-; Still amazing these little pieces of art!

Thanks for checking this post out! - ggsdolls

What's in this week!

Yesterday, I received a lovely wig I bought thru ebay made by Dollheart. I wish they had this same wig for my Mini DD, but sadly the largest size would only fit my Abielle. So below, is what she looks like with the new wig. I love it! The style is very much a mod style and she looks cute in it too!

Then, I also received today some items from Japan!

This lovely large Macoto style art bag, another shoe bag with artwork by Cheiko Hosokawa, a shitajiki or overlay card with a retro stewardess on it. Another Janica TV music box in dark wood look, a Lot of 3 boots, a retro cute panda, and a Lot of miniature Glico dresser, lunch box, and desk! Most will be added to the shop, and some will not be for sale.

Tiny little Glico candy toys above. I love the dresser with the tiny brush. My daughter already claimed the other two items-_-;

This amazing art bag, with art work that looks very much like Macoto's but there is no signature, instead it says Sanjuki Designs and the tag says Nissan. So I am guessing it is a copycat? Still a lovely bag!

This lovely Janica TV I found a week after receiving the white one. I figured I would lose out, but instead I won it. I love the flower on this one, but sadly the silver needs repainting, and the knob is a bit loose. This one plays "Swan Lake".

Finally, I received this amazing felt cake jewelry box made on etsy by Fiordineve. This lovely felt cake looks delicious in every way with its decadent chocolates, strawberries, kiwi, berries, bananas, and cookies. But it's all made of felt! I just fell in love with one I had seen on Atomaru's blog. I found Yuki's shop and had her custom make this one for me to have 2 tiers! Still these cakes are quite amazing and so cute too!

The little slice you see next to the cake is a miniature chocolate cake Yuki sent me as a gift!! Thanks for reading! - ggsdolls
