May is on its way out! Than, I made more handmade journals!! I was commissioned to make two journals for a friend. I was so excited to work on it that I finished it quickly! LOL
I actually began working on a bunny journal and cut out the fabric. While doing that there were other cute animal prints on the same fabric along with a bunny, there is a fawn, bears, a lamb and the puppy above. I decided to use the puppy and fawn for the commission.
I also had similar colored fabric with a slightly different design to use as the back covers. I added the baby blue pompoms and blue satin ribbon along with the cute car appliques. These are journals are to be use for my friend's grandsons and I think with the color palette being blues will be a nice way to commemorate her journal writings about them. Annnnd she can add more to her journal as she goes!
All the journals I completed in about two days. I made a birthday bear journal and you can also see the blue bunny with yellow pompoms, I made first than the other journals below.
The birthday bear below, feature a boy bear on the front and a girl bear on the back. I added some hot pink ruffles and hot pink polkadot ribbon. I haven't decided on an applique yet. But even without it, the journal looks so cute! It was fun to decide the design as I went along.
The journal below, I made before the others, and it features the blue bunny and I added some yellow pompom trim along with a peach satin ribbon. This one I will use to hold my vintage baby cards, etc. Just because it is perfect for my baby themed ephemera collection. I can't wait to work on it!
Sweet Lamby on the back, it will be fun to add things to the journals and I will share more soon! This has been a busy few weeks. My youngest will graduate from High School and Sam and I will become empty nesters!! Haha!
