Retro Cookie Journal Made by Me!

I just completed making a cute retro Kawaii "Cookie" journal scrapbook. It was so much fun to create and sew! I began with this lovely retro vintage sweet animal fabric in green with adorable cookie tins on it like Butter Cookies, Biscuits, and Assorted cookie tins on the fabric. I took this adorable fabric and added some hot pink pom pom trim and for the inside, this floral blue fabric I got from my local "Goody Store".

I decided to get some cookie style cabs and found some online. Once they arrived, I added them along with the pastel pink ribbon. I had sewn the ribbon and than added this yummy "Pretzel" style butter cookie as an accent on top of the ribbon. So cute and yummy to look at as well!

Inside the journal, I added a pocket holder to hold stickers and others small items, I even added dividers in neutral and pastel rose colors. I also added some clear card pages to each section along with some journal pages and yellow card stock style pages. I had these Sakuma fruit & creme candy packaging that work well as pockets to hold other goodies, and lastly a popcorn bag at the end to hold larger paper items or sticker sheets. All you have to do is fill it up with what you'd like to put into the journal!

As you can see there are some extras inside already for the lucky person who wants to adopt this OOAK journal piece. I had fun creating it. Below, a short video on TikTok looking at the journal pages! Journal is already SOLDOUT but visit my shop for more soon!

Some other finds that came in!! I got these Amifa Licca Chan set of goods that were released recently. I wanted the acrylic doll stands, clips, bags, and sticker set. So many cute retro Licca Chan dolliness! These will be great to add to my dolly journal once I get that made. Haha!

Next, I found this adorable Meyercord decal of two bears and a basket. Just too cute! A great addition to my collection. It's about medium in size and I don't see these types too often. So it was nice to discover this one! Sadly, it's getting harder to find new to me decals!

Last, this adorable Krueger puppy rattle doll. So small at about 5 inches tall. He is in awesome vintage condition and a lovely addition to my collection!

I hope your month of May is as fruitful as mine!! Happy Thrifting guys!!

Why Kindness Matters...

... "Because you don't know what others are going through and being mean doesn't help either." ~ gg

May is here and so much has happened between then and now. We had a typhoon (Sinlaku) barely miss us, but sadly it still was strong enough to do damage on Guam, and I can almost imagine the damage it had on the other islands it hit directly. We had no cell service for a few days and no power. But luckily during the storm we had water and it didn't go out. Whew! We did survive this and it wasn't as bad as Mowar back in 2023. So I will not complain at all.

I did find a few items prior to and after the storm. Just 2 days before the storm the Japanese Spring Festival happened and I'm so glad Sara and I attended. We had a plan to get the items we wanted and it worked out well. It was a beautiful breezy day too and overcast with no rain, Yay! We won some fish for Taby, and I got two masks one for TJ and one for my wall. We watched the festivities and ate some food. But called it an early day and made our way home.

A few days after the storm, I took this photo below of the Korean Vodka Soju Apple flavor! It is definitely different. But I had to take a pic of it with Caleb from LADS. As it was fitting. If you know, you know! Haha! During the day with no cell service or power, we decided to work on a mechanical music kit that I was gifted back in December. Sara and I had a blast trying to get the pieces together.

Some parts was a bit trying, but mostly of it was fairly easy. Even the music box worked and the horses and lower section with the city scape moves as the carousel turns. It was so much fun getting it to work!! Sara and I had fun watching it come together and it was great for times like these after a storm and literally nothing else to do. Haha!

I even took out my Phomemo printer to make some cute stickers to add to my Rushton journal. It was fun and just adding some embellishments to the journal was relaxing to do. When power and cell service came back. We ventured to McDonald's and got the Huntrixx Happy Meal. Just once, because when we realized how much it was, it was not as worth it as we thought. We got a collectible card and the Ramen Fries were yummy for sure.

But that was about it and we both decided not to do that again. Oh well. Haha! My friend in Japan had sent a box prior to the storm and it arrived to me the week after and it was so needed. Because I was feeling a bit down and this box made my day! Inside, was this adorable Japanese Festival mask that reminds me of a Pose Doll or Kiichi Tsutaya's works. The mask had green hair and wore a red dotted scarf. I couldn't wait for her to be added to my Festival Masks Wall!!

My Festival Masks Wall updated above. The green haired gal came with two other masks a tiger and a bunny. I only had one hook and needed to get more, so I just hung up the tiger for now. My Masks wall is growing and I love how it all looks.

Lastly, this one of six retro Adelia cream soda minis. They are gacha and light up. I couldn't help but get myself a set. I love the design and retro feel they give. Also, it matches my mini GE Little Miss kitchen counter! I even brought my shaker with Meyercord decals out from storage to set this one up for display in my room. There are other items from my latest box, but I will show them next time.

That's all for now. Happy Thrifting my friends!!
