"LOVE ALL, TRUST A FEW..."

..."DO WRONG TO NONE." ~ WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

It's been a minute... My birthday month has begun!! Yippee! It has been a relaxing and festive one so far. I had a few items come in the past few weeks and here they are...

Locally, I went to New Neverland and couldn't resist this adorable Kitty purse!! I got myself the gray one. Yes, I know surprisingly. Haha! He is so soft and fluffy. I just had too!

I decided to get this adorable vintage Ohio Art toy drum, because it has the cutest bear graphics on it and it would also made a great display stand on my dresser! A few nicks here and there but nothing serious. It arrived quickly and was cheap too! So no complaints here!! Haha!

Here's where I displayed it along with my sweet bear! Below, I was trying to get the KFC Love and Deepsspace toys they had of the Chibi character Caleb. Sadly, Rafayel was the only one available. So I got him. These are hard to come by because KFC China is the only ones selling these there. Not anywhere else. Still happy I got him! And the shop seller even added a gift!! I love it!

Next, is this adorable journal made by an artist in Japan. Journaling or scrapbooking is very popular there too! I love the vintage toys and paper items in it. Yup, it comes already with all these cute journal additions. Lately, I'm getting into them and wanted a close up of how they are styled and made. Now, that I know, I hope to make journals for myself with all the items I love! More information on that soon!! Just love the way this one is styled for sure!!

I could not resist this adorable Showa Play House bag plushies! I only wanted the blue bunny. But I love how they are in tin cans you can also keep! Very Showa Era Kawaii too!! The makers also have larger plush versions! I am trying to resist buying more!! Haha! Below, I decided to redress mine and add a bonnet to her! Their eyes reminds me of Happy Sachiyo's works a bit or Fairytown's plushies!

Than, I found this lovely minty pillow animal on the bay!! It is a crib hanging toy with bell. I love this Dingle-Lion. His fabric is very much from the 70s style pillow fabric I grew up with and his mane is so vibrant! I simply love him!

I found these adorable sitting rubber cake dolls I believe. Their faces look a lot like Sun-chan dolls by Oike, but sadly there are no markings. So they may be made in China or Japan. Definitely 70s and they each hold forget me not flowers and their heads can twist. I will add two dolls in my shop soon! I will only keep the pink one.

Lastly, this adorable pink 70s mini plush bunny by Animal Toys. I love his felt tulip eyelashes and he's all original. Definitely 70s with the foam stuffing and the fur feel. Assembled in Haiti it is quite unique and I love his coloring. A lovely addition to my little collection!

Well, that's all for now and I hope you find great vintage things you love too!

Vintage Cortendorf Figurines?

I've made many new friends via Instagram, and one particular friend has a shop called, "56Store", in Thailand. They have an amazing vintage collection of 1940s thru 1970s decor, etc. I fell in love with their rare Cortendorf type Figurines of native ladies... I remember a friend of mine via Germany told me about them first. She collected them, and I just thought I'd try to see if they were for sale?! Sure enough, they were! Yay! I was able to purchase them and they arrived to me very quickly too!

These native ladies are so amazing for their age. Perhaps by the German company Cortendorf? "Founded in 1890 Cortendorf today is part of the city of Coburg-Cortendorf. The well known sculptor Albert Strunz introduced new sculpture designs such as the wall masks that West German Cortendorf pottery is well known for. These Figurines were produced from 1955 - 1960. In the Mid Century Cortendorf is well known for its female wall masks, riskay nude sculptures, animal shaped tea pots and in the 60's produced figures with a wood grain appearance. After 1973 Cortendorf factory was acquired by the Goebel Company." - by Retro Decor  Also, bit of history here by Nostalgie Corner.

Upon inspection of the girls, they don't have the sticker that shows they are Cortendorf, instead they have just a sticker on them, "Japan".
They both have hair glued on. These types of figurines are rare and can be very expensive. I've seen them as African, Hawaiian, and Native figurines. My faves are the figurines with hair most. The one with brown long hair has a faded flower, possibly a Hawaiian or Polynesian girl.

This girl has darker hair, is more curly and thick, and is a bit larger compared to the other. One is holding a water jug, and this one is holding a piece of cloth, probably washing clothes by a stream...

I will have to do a bit more research on them... Thank you again to 56Store for the amazing transaction! You guys were awesome. They both arrived safely, well-packed and super fast! I will shopping with you again!

Then, another sweet friend, KitschandKawaii, msg me about a cutie she found via etsy! Wow, thank you Christine for the notice. I snatched her up and here she is...
Similar to my other two soft vinyl dolls from Japan, this one is missing her hat and is made in Hong Kong, instead of Japan.
She is very similar, except for the feel of the vinyl, a bit more pliable and soft.
She is a cute sister to my smaller version...

Just some random photos of cotton candy I was craving for a few days ago...
Having fun with the rubber swan...
I also received from Amiami, my preorder of Rement's Hitachi appliances. Just one of them below, the Hitachi color TV. It fits nicely inside, Tomy Little Rooms! More on the Hitachi brand miniatures later...
