My Boopsie Daisy Trade Is In and Other Goodies!!

Oh my goodness gracious!!! Back in August, or actually a bit earlier, dear sweet Missy of BoopsieDaisy on etsy, wanted to trade for my cute vintage tan mascot doll with closed eyes and eyelashes as shown here in a book. She is the one wearing yellow. Every year or so, Missy and I do a trade or swap. She falls in love with one of my vintage dollies placed in my shop, and I tell her what dolly I want her to make for me! If I am correct, this is our third trade!

 I love the way Missy covers her box with all these cute, stickers and decor. I will cut these out and save them! Below, inside the box! The smell of marshmallows and cotton candy filled my room...

 Below,  I found a cute dolly decor of her favorite doll, an envelope, and a beautifully wrapped special dolly, just for meh!!

 Inside, mini boopsiedaisy goodies, and the most sweet and special dolly in the world... A boopsie mermaid! Yay!  I've been wanting one, for quite some time now! She is smaller as compared to an earlier one that Missy sold, but this one is way better! Because, she is small enough to fit in my cabinet. She smells of yummy cotton candy to me! My husband says, the room smells like old lady and marshmallows!! I was like, what?! No way, it's cotton candy!

 My mermaid is so precious! I love her to pieces! Thank you Missy! She will go into storage for now, until I can make room in my cabinet for her...

 I also, love her tag and won't be cutting it off, just to adorable! You are truly amazing Missy, how your mind works, your creations... oh my goodness!!

I also received this lovely purchase from an online shop! A Miniature Reproduction of 1970 Mini Licca Mansion/Omoide no Licca-chan House. I've been recently looking for one, for Mirai to stay in. I've checked Yahoo Japan and they do have some up for auction, but generally end upwards of $95 plus, and you still have to pay for s/h, third party services, etc. But, I was able to get this gem and save on my s/h too!  It arrived today, along with Boopsie's box, and a box from Germany!

The house is NRFB. Nice and new. Description: This is a miniature toy made for Licca's 25th anniversary in 1992. Miniature Licca is about 1 1/2" tall. The walls can be folded just like the real Licca mansion. New in Box! Box is still sealed.

 Mirai is able to fit in it, just the right scale for her too! Yippee!

 Her and Licca can play! Notice that I've added eyes to Mirai?! I may take them off, she looks a bit googly to me with them on-_-; The eyes were from a model kit from Japan.

Lastly, a stool. I Binned from ebay Germany, by Bodo Hennig, 1970s. I will use in Tadie's house. I've been wanting one of these stools for awhile now. It was nice to see it available for purchase. That's all for now. Happy Friday the 13th to you all!

Re-Stringing My Little Baby Doll and More!

I took Cricket's advice and checked out Rita's tutorial on how to re-string a celluloid doll, here! Just in case you would like to try it out. Her instructions were very easy to follow.

I just had to be brave enough, to cut the original elastic cord. I did, and started to re-string him below.

Tools & material: Scissors, thin wire, one pin, thin elastic cord.

 I could not get some of the old cords out of the limbs. Sadly, all I could do was push it further in, in order for me to make room to put the new cord... (tweezers shown above were not used.) I had some leftover elastic cord from, when I used to own Tiny Secret Fairy abjd's and Unoa-Lite dolls. Luckily, I kept a roll. I had a thin hook style wire, I made to string my beaded necklaces. It definitely came in handy when I had to feed the elastic cord through, to the other side of the body.

The hardest part was feeding the knotted piece into the tiny holes in the leg and arms. I had to take a break between, because I ended up with a headache. I was trying to be very careful not to make the hole bigger, and sadly, one of the legs started to come apart at the seams... ugh! So, I told myself, "Time for a break!", and glued the leg. I did use the pin to carefully push the knot through, into the hole of the limb.

One done above, whew! Took a bit of coaxing... Below, I did the arms first, since the other leg was still setting. Not too bad.

After that, he was done! Now, he sits nicely upright. Such a cutie. I am very happy he turned out alright. Thanks Cricket and Rita too!

When, I took a break, I drove up to the mail box and look what came in! I Binned this amazing Tadie Muz booklet through ebay France. The seller had two for sale.

 I asked the seller to just send it in an envelope, crazy I know. But, I knew it would get to me faster!

 The booklet is in excellent condition for its age.

Vintage Celluloid Dolly!

I don't usually collect celluloid type dolls, but as of late, I am just falling in love with Shabby Chic vintage goodness from a few friends I follow via instagram! Their photos showcase all their vintage baby dolls and rubber toys, along with vintage decor, Yum!

I just couldn't resist when I found this little dolly thru etsy here! I just had to get him! I researched a bit more and some describe them as, Celluloid/ Bisque baby doll, marked: "made in Occupied Japan" --meaning during U.S. occupation of Japan after WWII, from 1945-52. Articulated arms and legs are secured by cord. Celluloid is rough in places, as these pieces were quick exports.

 Mine arrived safely from the States and packaged nicely above. I was able to find this one cheap as compared to most others. He is bright in color, with no fading, and there are no crushed areas. His arms and legs are jointed. Only flaw I can see, is that the strings are loose and will need to be tightened or re-strung.

 His face is so sweet and he still has his rosey cheeks! On the back side, closer to his neck, is a diamond shaped symbol with the markings, JP or F?  I could barely tell what it was, even, with using a magnifying glass. But, you can read further information about celluloid doll symbols here, thanks to Doll Reference.com.

I didn't realize how tiny these would be?! I figured he would be a bit larger... But this guy is so small in my hand! They are delicate too, and one thing that I don't care for, is worrying that my toys or dolls would get crushed easily. Oh well, I guess I can make an exception for this cutie.

I need to fix his loose strings, that way he can sit up properly. More pics of him soon!

Lots of Mail Today! Part Two!!

Okay, I did say I would write more about these items from Yesterday...

The KumuKumu Laputa pendant below, when you open the box the packaging holds all these pieces to create the pendant. It can be a bit tricky, but very easy to put together!

Below left, the front of the pendant, and the backside. There is even a hole thru the top so you can put some thread or rope through, if you want to wear the pendant as a necklace, you can!

 Lovely design and so much fun for kids of all ages! I loved "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" this is an amazing treasure to have.

Kumukumu Totoro in an acorn... This puzzle took a bit more time. There are more pieces and some parts needed to be put together first before others can be put in place. I would say a bit more difficult for a young child, but in the end, Totoro is just too cute for words!

I also opened up all the Rose of Versailles charms and below are the styles included!

 Here are some examples. Some will be added to my collection, others will be added to the shop soon!

I also wanted to show a squeaker I won in a Lot of Squeakers from ebay below. Her paint was all but rubbed off on her face. I tried to find any information online about painting squeakers or rubber toys, but nothing unless it was an action figure. So, I decided to use my previous knowledge of painting resin dolls and below the end result!

 Above before, and below, after painting. I prepped the area with Mr. Clear Matte, then used acrylic paints, and sealed again with Mr. Clear.

Lots of Mail Today!!

I left the house thinking I just had to mail a box out... low and behold, I had two pink slips! After dropping Sam to physical therapy, I went to the PO and there were three more boxes given to me, Whoa!

 Mail from Yahoo Japan above, a large box, with a cute tan retro dolly mint in box, a mint in package grocery store shelf with groceries, a "The Little Mermaid" lunch bag, a Lot of retro girlie accessories, and Studio Ghibli Baron and Louise finger puppets.

Below, I found these two cute characters: The Baron and Louise, from "Whisper of the Heart" by Studio Ghibli. These soft vinyl finger puppets will be added to my collection. So cute, I've always wanted the statues... maybe someday?

This vintage MIP Modern Toy Grocery set with shelf, is filled with food items and veggies too! I will add this to the shop.

 I also found this amazing NRFP Toei Animation "The Little Mermaid" lunch bag/sack. Made by Swimmer. Very cute and vibrant too. The anime art is not as finely made as the anime, but still with the Prince and Marina, even Fritz on the back side! I will add this to the shop as well.

 This cutie MIB Leah Products, Kimi-chan. A cute tan curly blue haired child, answering the phone! I love her unique face and pose. Only her head, and arms move. Adding this gem to the shop too.

 The backside of the box showcases all the other dolls in the series! So many cuties! A few look very familiar too...

 Wish I could find em' all! LOL

The Lot of Retro Girlie accessories below. Panda collection possibly...

 Included stickers, a lipstick, cute large pendant with panda, panda pin, 2 panda booklets, hair clip with apple decor, red dish with retro girl anime, and two picks. I will be keeping the lipstick and stickers, but the rest will be added to my shop.

Then, in the second box, I found my pre-order from Amiami of Rose of Versailles Metal Charm Collection.

 Gorgeous charm pendants you can clip onto a necklace, key chain, bag, etc.

 Lovely Lady Oscar below. I will keep a few and add a few to the shop.

Also, these amazing KumuKumu 3D Puzzle Mini's of "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" Hikouseki, pendant and "My Neighbor Totoro" Donguri, Totoro in an acorn.

 I will show more on these two puzzles one later...

Lastly, a box from Korea! My Yvely Shoes for my KukuClara! So many yummy colors, most sold out, but I got two sets that were still available... and they fit Tadie too! Yippee! More on them later as well...
