New Year, New Finds!

Happy New Year to you all my fellow Thrifters, collectors and friends! I hope 2026 has hope and more finds for you this year!!

December was so busy with my daughter Taby's nuptials, and my new grandson Ivyn, that I had absolutely no time for anything else!! But I did find some lovely vintage items, and some not vintage, but adorably cute things as well. So here they are...

I still often search through Japan sites when I can, for vintage goodies that catch my eye and this one was too cute to pass up. It's a celluloid sewing kit!! Lovely bunny art on the front cover and inside, it holds another pink celluloid container for needles, etc., an adorable matchbox that can also hold other sewing notions, a pink card with flower and a pair of scissors. I have listed this adorable vintage piece in my shop already! If you want to check it out!

I also was watching the QLY page on IG and they finally released the Light Little Bear doll!! So adorable and affordable too! So I had to get one! He is just too sweet and made of bisque with dress, and card. Little bear will go on adventures with me I hope!! Haha! I even dressed him up in Heidi by Remco fashions. Well only those dresses that can fit! Haha!

Next, I found that you can purchase these adorable mini condiment plates by Swimmer Japan!! These adorable ceramic plates have such cute style art on them that remind me of Meyercord decals!! I had to get a set of these for my collection! I also got a 2nd set to add to my shop. The elephant sold already, but the pony and bunny plates are still there! Be sure to check it out in my shop!

I also happened upon this adorable vintage celluloid pink bonnet rattle toy on Ebay! I quickly purchased it as it reminded me of my Plakie blue bonnet rattle. This one is just too cute for words and so I added a satin bow to her! Than, this set of felt anime girl fabric and needle pillow was found via Japan. It is handmade and I just couldn't pass up for the anime girl art on it. Basically the anime girls I believe are from fabric and the artist glued it onto felt fabric and a felt needle pillow. Just too cute!!

Also, I found a lot of paper ephemera online in Japan. I bought the lot and oh my goodness, so many goodies in the Lot. Below is just a portion of what I got. Paper dolls with adorable Shoujo anime girl dolls. One is holding a children's book. The other two would be great for framing! I have always wanted to find some vintage paper dolls so this was the next best thing!! Yippee!

Below also from the Lot this set of boy and girl paper dolls!! Sadly, their heads were decapitated, so I fixed them! Nothing good ole' laminate paper couldn't fix!! I've always wanted this particular set of paper dolls, because they are just Shoujo Perfection!! They even came with two fashions each. I will have to laminate as well to keep them from fraying or getting ruined. I simply love them!! I definitely feel so happy to have them in my collection! Blessings for sure!

When these paper dolls show up immaculate they can cost upwards of fifty dollars plus!! Ugh! Often really hard to get cheap. Ugh! Below, I finally had a chance to stop by my favorite 100yen stores on island! Goody and Daiso!! Here's what I got...

At Daiso above, I found a case that can hold paper dolls or acrylic display dolls for travel, a case to display jewelry and other items that came with a stand, some felt roses, and cardboard gold hearts! On my 2nd trip just the other day also from Daiso below, I found this large silly chicken that squeaks and his head turns too, more carnation flowers, stickers, light up heart rings, a paper doll case, sticker case, and 2026 calendars, one that is a bouquet and other that are two kitties!

Lastly, from Goody Store, two daisy child shades for my plushies or dolls, origami paper, more stickers, and a clear file binder. I am going to start on a journal project and hope it turns out, more on this later...

Welp! That's all for now! Gosh it is already January 9th! Happy Hunting!

A Thrifting We May Go...

... "A thrifting we may go, hi-ho the dairy-oh, a thrifting we may go!" ~ ggsdolls

May this month bring us all some kind of relief. Here's what finds I've acquired...

I've seen these little trinket boxes at my local "Goody Store" before, but never paid any attention to them, until I saw them on IG!! I didn't even realize they were trinket boxes with key rings to lock them, how cute! So I got two and sure enough they are cute and even better to hold more of my vintage toy jewelry accessories collection too! As of late, I've been bitten by the toy jewelry bug and wanting to find more jewelry with gems! Haha!

The rings are the keys to lock and unlock the cases. I've seen pink, blue and I believe there is a purple one. Just too cute and great additions to my little trinket box collection.

Next, I won this lot of over 20 pieces of vintage toy jewelry necklaces and key chains or pins from Yahoo Japan. I kept a few and have listed a few on my Etsy or Instagram up for grabs. Lovely vintage Idols from Japan too! Those sold will come with an extra pendant!! Like I said, I've been on the hunt for toy jewelry these days. Haha!

Then, I won this lovely vintage Takara Pico-Chan doll wearing a lovely fashion made for Dawn dolls also from the 70s. Mint in box too. I listed her in my shop and it sold fast! The doll is so sweet and when you move her arm up or down, her head twists left or right! How cool!! she is a lovely version too!

I also found this adorable Pink Rushton Molly Rabbit 70s version with her original bonnet. She is simply gorgeous and I love her coloring. She is up for grabs in my shop as well. I have listed a few of my Rushtons in the shop that are available. Below, are two lovely Swimmer brand totes!
This adorable brown Princess bear has blue gems for eyes, a pink gem nose and beaded crown. I will keep for now. Below, the pink sleepy bear tote is reversible and so cute. The pink bear tote is listed in my shop as well! She will make a great tote for travel or while you are thrifting!
Well, that's all for now. I hope you find a lot of lovely things too! May the thrifting Gods be with you!

Thank you for swinging by! ~ ggsdolls

"Spread Love Everywhere You go..."

... "Let no one ever come without leaving happier." ~ Mother Teresa

Here are some amazing finds as of late...

Did some shopping at my local Goody store, and found these lovely anime girl sticker flakes!! They are so adorable and I can't wait to use them. The girl in front holding the teddy is just too cute!! There are 8 styles and 4 of each. Woohoo! Below, I found a lot of bunnies and these are the ones I listed in my shop! So cute and lovely to display! They are quite common for vintage, but still adorable.
Below, I simply fell in love with this Swan series eye shadow case by Flower Knows made in China. The compact is just dreamy and inside, the eye shadow and blush even have design imprinted on them. I probably won't use it at all except for display. Haha!

Next, this cutie pie! I found via an Etsy shop and it's a Bunny plush backpack/purse. She took some time to arrive, but so worth it. She reminds me of the bunny in the anime "Chobits". The alter ego of 'Chi'. So sweet and there are other colors too! I wanted a silver bun, but sadly that one was sold out at the time. Still this pink one is just as cute and she has little teardrops soo kawaii!!! EEeee!

I can't believe this, but I also found more variations of the Lotte Big Bubble Pretty Lady paper dolls and decals!! This one I don't have in my collection. So, they are a perfect addition to it! Unused and still in lovely for their age. Sadly, the decals can't transfer anymore, but still an awesome piece of confectionery history!!
This is a special gift from a fellow dear friend and collector, Joujoukawaii!! She had sent me an Xmas gift! I couldn't believe all the goodies inside. She knew me so well and sent a vintage Japan Children's Christmas record. I love the Pose doll graphics on it. I almost bought one from a website too around the same time. So to see it as a gift from was really special for sure. The card and wrapping was extra special as well. Featuring a sweet vintage Santa. Ahhh, Kitsch Christmas goodness for sure!! Thank you my dear sweet friend! ILY!

I hope your January is turning out fabulous! So many things to be thankful for, life, family and most of all friends.

Praying for all the families affected by the fires in California. Be sure to donate!

Thank you for visiting! ~ ggsdolls
