Vintage Terrarium Stool Miniature!

I have this amazing vintage inflatable terrarium stool, and I wanted to see if I could make a similar stool, but in miniature scale!? So, I took all the things I could think to possibly use to create it and here's what happened...

First, I remembered I had this base from a miniature furniture Lot and figured it would make perfect legs for the stool... I just repainted it gold.
Second, I remembered I had these clear containers that used to hold tiny beads! Perfect as a see thru stool!

I then, took some plastic bouquet flowers from a vintage barbie fashion set, a tiny mushroom miniature and plastic leaves and glued them together below... along with a khaki green carpet as the turf!
The end product below, I decided not to cover the top with any fabric or foam cut out, and used the container cover instead. Mostly because I need to figure out what material if any I could use...? 'Work still in progress!' LOL
I cut out and placed black foam between the gold tone leg base, and the acrylic container. The legs reminded me of vintage tapered legs you can find to give any old stool a Mid Century Modern look!

Then, I also received this amazing 1:16 scale Modern chair from an etsy shop called, "Multi For Miniatures" here! I bought it for its nice price, and for the cute retro styling!
Gorgeous handmade chair. I can't wait to use it in my smaller rooms! Below, a quick set up to showcase the chair and the stool!

What I've Been Working On!

Taby found an app that helps her create stop motion movies! Over the summer she's been researching stop motion and wants to do them as a career. Since she got the app, she's created three movies! I've also downloaded it and made this movie below using Charlotte! You can also see the movie Taby created! She's a lot more patient then I am, and I know if she decides to do this professionally, I think she'd be amazing at it!!

Here is Taby's Stop Motion Movie below!

I've also added some pics of Charlotte, with her mermaid tail, in a grassy seaweed scene...

Small Packet from Yahoo Japan and Junky Spot!

A few things arrived today from Yahoo Japan... Whoo hoo!
I got a small packet just before the "Obon" Holiday in Japan this week, whew!! Above, 3 more Aulbath mermaid figures, and "Cutey Honey" anime figures.

Also, this side part Obitsu head from Junky Spot, Stateside. I want to see if I can create a "Marina" character from the animation movie?!! Well, we will see...

Below, the box from the Cutey Honey character series. I got this Lot of two figures. One for myself, the blonde, and one for Sara, the red head!!

She's cute and they come with stands too!

This lot of 3 Aulbath mermaids below. I wanted to see the other color styles, and I gave the extra green one to Taby. She was happy to get something too! LOL

Can't wait to use them in outdoor scenes!!

Below, a sneak peek at my new Charlotte Mermaid model!! She is on an MMS body, the 1st version, and the mermaid tail from figma Seto San from my earlier post here. She looks lovely, and I can't wait to show you what I've been working on featuring her!! More soon...

I also received some time ago, this T-shirt I had made with my photo art!! I've already worn it several times now!!

and I tried Shiori's head on the Aulbath mermaid bod... Too Funny! But at least I know Azone works nicely with it!

Dried Flowers, Meguchan, and More...

Today, I received small packets in the mail all at once! Three boxes to be exact!
More lovely etsy dried "Baby's Breath" flowers came in this time, I ordered purple and red!! Can't wait to use them!!

Then, I finally found a pre-owned Gutto Kuru Megu Kanzaki Figure thru Amiami!! Yippee, I've been searching for one via Yahoo Japan for a year, and then while doing my usual searches thru pre-owned goodies, she was there and super cheap too!! I actually tried to bid on a Lot of 4 or 5 figures, all Megu-chan via Yahoo Japan a few weeks ago, but lost! Only because I didn't make a high bid... Not stressing now, since I've found a complete set and box too!!

She is a lot larger than a figma figure, so I can't use her head on any of my MMS bods. Still, she is more like a 1/6 scale doll to me! With a lot of extra hands and facial expressions, what fun awaits?!

The only thing via Yahoo Japan is below. I was searching for more mermaid goodness, and found this lovely figma tail up for auction! It actually goes with this figma San Seto, here! But one can be creative and use it for something else!! Can't wait!
Then, I also decided to paint this figure blonde and will use it in a ocean scene. It also belongs to Sara and she is happy to have one that looks more like "Marina"!!

Making a 3D Paper Mermaid!

Yes mermaid!! Like I said, obsessed with them as of late! I found this online downloadable 3D paper mermaid of "Marina", for you to try out! The Link below is to a Japanese website for paper crafts, but you can download the pieces in English! The link to the website is here!

Above is a screen shot I took of the site that shows the finish product.  I generally leave the page open, so that I can go back and refer to it.  Things you will need:  a pair of scissors, a printer to print out from, paper, and tacky glue. I didn't follow the instructions, but you can find them here, in Japanese only.

I basically, followed and cut from the lines for each piece. Then for each part, I carefully folded the sections with dotted lines and made sure I knew what parts to glue, before gluing them. Generally, the parts to glue were the folded back sections.
It was somewhat of a challenge for her tail, neck, and head. But in the end she turned out similar to what was on the site. If you want her a bit stronger or sturdier looking. I would use thicker paper.
Still it was fun to put her together, and look she sorta looks like Marina?!! LOL Have fun!!

More Mermaid Goodies from Japan!!

Yup, I know, mermaid stuff!? LOL, that day I was obsessing, well, I, uh, found more stuff, and bought it!!

My latest Yahoo Japan box arrived to me today!! I was worried I'd have to wait... You see a major bridge is being worked on in our village and there was a notice put out that it would be closed down for a few hours a day to put in place some large beams. Sadly, the time that its closed is the time I often drive up to the Post to pick up mail!! So, for the next few days, I have to go early to do that or not go at all... Since I followed the tracking for this box, I went early today, sat in the parking lot for awhile, and sure enough the clerk was able to get it to me before the bridge had to close, whew!! So, with out further delay here's what came in...

Yup just about everything in the box is mermaid related, with the exception of one item! I received two children's books, "The Little Mermaid", a Lot of Glico toys, a mermaid figure, and a vintage mermaid puzzle!!

The Lot of glico toys below. I thought the patio was just too cute to pass up, and it came with this cute little house too! To add to my Glico collection of course!

This amazing vintage Harumi mermaid puzzle! A bit faded, but still with all its pieces and still lovely to look at with the other mermaids in the background! I may add it to the shop?! Still deciding...hmm

The backside of the puzzle below...

One of two books I found while searching mermaids... This lovely vintage children's book, "The Little Mermaid", is not the Disney version, but Hans Christian Andersen's tale. Well loved by child, and still lovely. I mostly bought for the beautiful anime...
These books are a series of books released about fairy tales. This one is number 31.

The second book I found below, is a recent take or modern version of the same Hans Christian Andersen's tale. This book, has some beautiful anime art in it as well! Illustrated by Futago Kamikita, who is famous for "Pretty Cure" franchise,  and written by Onodera Yu.
 My favorite page below...

Then, finally, I was able to acquire this hard to find anime gashapon figure, Darkstalkers character: Rikuo/Aulbath Mermaid.
I've often seen her via deviant art searches thru google, but for sale she is slim to none! But, I was able to find her thru Yahoo Japan, whew! There are actually 3 styles of different colored tails, I got the green one.
 She's a lot more sexier than my usual mermaid figures, but still I wanted to get her and use her in some scenic shots...coming soon!! I removed her large fin ears, not to keen on them. -_-;
The nice thing about this small figure is that you can take her head off and use other figure heads on the body!! Yippee! Gives me more choices!

Azone Wear and Vintage Sessel Style Chair...

I recently received some goodies this past week that I didn't have a chance to post about!

The cute Azone school uniform wear was released a week or so ago and I got it in. But just haven't decided on what body to try it on. Sadly, it too big on my Aram girls, so they can't wear the uniform, but I'm sure I will try it on a body soon! LOL
I love the loafers the most! I know they will fit Aram for sure!

Then, I also acquired this hard to find Sessel Style chair. It's actually a 1967 Modella Paul Kerkmann design chair, more info. here from a dear friend thru flickr! The seller stated it was a Sessel chair from the 50's. Still I just love the design and wanted to have it for my dollhouse or doll room scenes!
It has that flocked ruby red velor styling, and the base is a grey color.
Add a throw pillow and it just gives it character! It does have some slight issues of felt stains, but other than that its in lovely condition. It's actually a part of a four chair set for a living room, as you can see from the link above.
The same seller had another for sell, but I think I am satisfied with just the one! LOL
