@ggsdolls_vtg 2nd Chubby Tubby Cherub πŸ§ΈπŸ‘ΌπŸ»πŸ’“ by Rushton found!!!πŸ˜±πŸ™πŸΌ❤️ #ggsdolls_vtg #ggsdolls #mycollection #maryrushton #rushton #vintagerubberface #chubbytubbycherub #bears #kitsch #kitschycute #nfsheat ♬ Airplane Mode - Limbo

Just as the video shows, I did. I have to tell you all a bit of a back story to finding this cutie... Since finding the blue Cherub here from this post... I gave an opportunity to a close friend to adopt the blue cherub. It was a few days of talking back and forth about it, and she did. While doing my regular daily searches, this adorable black and cream chubs just happened to be in a lot with another doll, and there was about only 12 hours left in the auction. I could not believe what I was looking at. Mind you the seller's photos did not do him justice.

I patiently waited, the next day the auction was to end and because it was too end while I slept. All I could do was make a last bid in hopes that what that amount was, I may win him. It was definitely something I told myself, that if it was meant for me to have him, I would win. Plain and simple. Next morning, I woke up, checked my phone after and sure enough. I had won him with only 3 other bidders besides myself. It was meant to be, he was mine.
As with all things, him being mailed out for me wasn't fast enough because I was still pinching myself at even spotting the lot last minute and all the what if questions plagued my mind. He was sent a few days after the auction and via media mail, ugh. Yup, everyone knows that parcel select and media mail can take at least a month. But, all I could do was be patient. Too my surprise, he arrived to me only a week later! OMG! He just needed a wipe down, he had a lot of surface dirt and his face was dark from old dust and smudges. I wiped him down carefully. He still had his original wings and his original bow on him.

Surprisingly that was it. Yay! I am still freaking out, I won him. Thank you Mary Rushton and the Rushton Gods!! Haha! He will live with me for now, until I'm ready for him to be loved by someone else...

Now on to sharing other goodies I found! Above these adorable large furry Squirmles I found from Japan, they are already listed in my Etsy shop. What a cool memory from the past! I've never seen large ones, so these are definitely cool! I won this adorable rattle doll, she is another addition to my collection. I also found another Macoto T. free diary book, in poor condition, but still lovely and I will add it to my other Macoto treasures.

I also got some adorable gifts from my close friends on IG. This one, I bought from OldSoulVintageCa via Etsy! I fell in love with the adorable kitty framed Valentine's card. Savannah did such a great job of putting the card into a frame with adorable vintage wrapping paper in the back ground. She is so creative. I love them and thank you again so much for the extra gifts dear friend!!

I also found these adorable Arnart small animal figurines. I listed all of them in my shop! Then, Sara and I went this new shop called, "Neverland Guam". They had all kinds of cute things from China, Singapore and Japan. This adorable pink fawn was one of them. Just look at her eyelashes!! Haha! Finally, I was able to order from Cookiegirls Japan. Since EMS is back up and running. I just couldn't resist. I got myself 2 of her pillows, and a bear hanger! Cuteness overload!!

Yummy Japanese snacks from my brother Rich, Jona and family. He knows my taste well. Haha! Thanks bro!! These adorable Krueger rattle dolls are available too in my shop! A special Christmas gift from my dear friend Paula. Can you tell? It's just like the string holder Lapin Ficelle!! Hah! How cool is that?!

I've seen this adorable bunny with musical wind up wood carrot. He was sitting on Ebay for months, and I felt so bad for him, so I adopted him. He is like new, and works just find too. Just adorable, he will live with me for a time. I finally finished restoring this Rushton Puss N Boots. I could have made him the pink with green vest, but figured he looked better with red. He was adopted not too long after I had listed him. Yay!

Last for this today, this amazing mint unopened Christmas stocking with rattle toys I bought from a friend. Oh my goodness, how cute is this!! Inside, a rattle doll, rattle tags, telephone, plastic bath toys too. Definitely another amazing piece of toy history!

2022 was awesome, and so far 2023 is off to a great start! Happy collecting my friends!

Rare Blue Mini Chubby Tubby Cherub Cub!!

 Oh my gawd guys!! He's here!! Just look at this freakin' chubby cutie pie!!

@ggsdolls_vtg Omg 😱 my rare mini blue Rushton Chubby Cherub is here!! πŸ‘ΌπŸ»πŸ§ΈπŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’› He’s so little! Only 9.5 inches tall. πŸ’–πŸ˜✨ #ggsdolls_vtg #ggsdolls #mycollection #maryrushton #rushton #vintageplush #vintagerubberface #kitsch #kitschycute #nfs ♬ Sky Aesthetic - Tollan Kim

 I gifted myself this cutie that popped up on the fave site for finding vintage plushies, and when he listed, it took only one second, to know, what I was seeing and that I needed him in my life!! If you recall my post here about Chubby Tubbies from a 50s ad, and here about the Chubby Tubby I restored. Last, my ultimate love this small white Chubster here! I have been wanting a blue chubby cherub since seeing the ad! But, to have one in person is a whole nother' level guys!! I'm shaking with excitement here!!

This adorable Chubby Cherub is the mini version standing at only 9.5 inches tall!! What?! Yup, he's even smaller than my white Chubby! In the standing position, this Cub, has rubber wings and vinyl paws and feet. He came with his original bow as well. To find one is next to none these days!! So I'm just thrilled he is mine! Squee!

Above and below the blue version in the advertisement.

Just look at his chubby behind, and in a lovely blue color too! Sadly, he no longer has his tag, but that doesn't take away from his rarity. Many of us know how hard it is to be able to afford a Rushton these days and to find a Rushton like this one and not in the thousands?!! What no way dude?! Was definitely a blessing in disguise! My Christmas is complete with him in it for sure!

Here he is with my white Chubby. Sadly, he does have a darker face, but who cares! I will get to enjoy him for a long time or at least until I am ready to let him move on and be enjoyed by someone else...

I hope your Christmas dreams come true this Christmas... Sending positive vibes out there to all of you!

Thank you for stopping by! ~ ggsdolls

Finally Finished...

 I hope you all had a special Mother's Day this past weekend? Mine was a bevy of gatherings with my 2 siblings and their families and I feel truly blessed. We had a simple gathering on Saturday at our family beach to enjoy my youngest brother's Birthday. Then, Sunday of course we spent it with my Sister In-law at her apt. with my Hubby's family for Mother's Day, and on Monday my siblings and I went to officially celebrate my brother's bday, with a luncheon planned by his beautiful wife. It's so nice to be at peace and just share love between our families and no drama. We are a quiet tight nit family and only a year or so ago, an extended family was the cause of so much drama. Just because this person, I believe, enjoyed seeing our family have it. Haha! God has truly been present with us and our Mother, may she rest in peace knowing all is right in the world.

Okay enough of that tidbit, what did I finally finish you ask?!! It has been a long wait, but I finally got the inspiration to finish a vintage Rushton cutie I've had since March this year. I got her cheap because of all her issues. She was basically falling apart! Her fur was shedding, she was missing her felt palms, and she stunk of mold and mildew. So, I washed her with her stuffing, but ended up having to remove it only because the stuffing still smelled of mold. I remade her paws of felt and sewn them on. I restuffed her and had to figure out how I could fix her missing patches of fur. This was actually my first attempt, similar to what I did for my friend Jame's Panda. How was I going to do this without completely losing the tag she still had on her body... At first, I thought, this plush was the cute and adorable "Pouty Bunny". Shown below.

But, after restuffing her and doing her paws, she does not stand. Instead, she lays on her side. Her fur was two-toned, yellow and peach. Luckily her tail was nice and fluffy still. She had no wires in her ears, so I just left them like that. Her ears were also a lovely peach satin. After that part, I kind of had to sit on restoring her, because that was when I hit a snag and had to figure out how I could move forward with her fur. I love the coloring of it, but could not find fur blended the way hers was. She had patches of fur missing all on the back side of her head, and her back.

While I tried to figure out how I could do this... I bought some items to create the Pouty Bunny you see above...

I found this lovely pink and white gingham vintage cloth diaper and it was about a new born or 0 - 3 month old size. Sure enough it fit her bottom perfectly. Then, I located this lovely vintage pink and white gingham bonnet also for a baby. They both fit her nicely too! I figured it will look great on her and I just have to fix her head part for her fur...

In the end, I finally got inspired over the weekend and finished her head. I had resewn yellow fur, on her missing patches, and trimmed the fur to the same length. You can't really tell, as the bonnet sits on her head. But, it was the best I could do and now, she is finally done and ready to sit in my collection. I just left her ears tucked inside the bonnet. But I may have to make holes for her ears to peek out of the bonnet later, along with one for her bottom's where her poofy tail is supposed to show. I repainted her face and added blush too. She may not be the "Pouty Bunny", but she is still an adorable bunny with more years of love to give!!

Next, I found these two cute vtg squeak toys, I've already added to my shop. A lovely yellow chick and pink bunny. They both still work too! Also, these two lovely vintage iron-ons, an elephant and Little Bo Peep. Lovely additions to my collection. Next, I was commissioned to take this lovely vtg Gund Boopsie Growler Bear and make her into a Chubby Tubby Cherub!!!

She arrived in this condition above and needed just some simple changes. I washed her, then had to take her stuffing out because, she couldn't spin in the washer. LOL Afterwards, I was able to let her dry faster and just restuffed her at this point. I had purchased a few more puffy angel wings and had one to spare for this lovely bear. I began next with her facepaint, and noticed that the only difference between the Boopsie Growler Bears and Chubby Tubby was their irises. Ha, I knew that just with this slight change, this lovely pink and yellow bear would become a Chubby Tubby Cherub. I repainted her and used my Cherub as a guide for her eyes... I added the gold puffy wings and hoped for the best...

TADA! She was done! I added a peach satin bow, and daisy. Now, this Cherub Bear was ready to go home to her Mommy! Her fur turned out so nice and fluffy and new. She smelled of flowers on a spring day with linens hung out to dry... mmmmm!!

Of course I had to take a pic of her with my Cherub too!! Alvina's Cherub bear is huge, she is like 22 inches tall. She will be a welcome cutie in her collection too! I had to take a pic of this group below, before I sold a few of the cuties in it. My My Toy plush group. The two kitties and Lamb were available, but now sold. I will keep the bear and bun...

Have a great week and stay safe!
