A Toy A Day...

 So very true. I think toys or blind boxes are the craze these days even with adults! I am not surprised honestly. While gatchas of Japan have been around for ages, it is wild that blind boxes are like a new thing these days...

Oh well, if you love to open a blind box to find the secret one is your game plan. It is all good. It's what makes you happy and no judgement here!! June is here, and I found this adorable vintage 1950s Whitman Color Fun coloring book! If you look at the front cover, it reminds me of Meyercord decals! The sweet little bun and duckling, are similar if not the same as those adorable decals, Right?! It's amazing that Meyercord was so popular back then, that they even made coloring books with the same style! Simply love the design, and inside the anthropomorphic animals are just as adorable!

None of the pages were colored, how amazing is that! I wonder who kept it all these years and didn't get tempted to color the pages!! I will keep this awesome book for now. I hope I can find more in the future!! Then, I ordered these adorable bloomers from an online shop! I just fell in love with them and thankfully they are in my size as well!! It matches my pink ruffled nighty jacket too! How cute is this?! I even got another pair of bloomers not photographed. I just love ruffles, satin and pink so much!! LMAO!

Then, I just happened upon this adorable Barnum's animal cracker magnets!! I was looking for something and this popped up. I had to get a set. Now I have one. Too cute and who else remembers these snacks?! I remember my grandmother giving me a box or asking my Mom to buy me a box at the grocery store.

Next, this lovely Kabaya Princess Jewel Box! I had to get one. I actually saw an auction on Yahoo Japan for a set of four of these and sadly I missed out on them. Darn! This heart shaped trinket case, came with an adorable pearl and diamond necklace. So cute and still in lovely condition for a 2008 Kabaya set. Reminds me of Marie Antoinette's fancy necklaces. Not real just a toy necklace, but hey us gals who can't afford the real one, can still love the toy versions!! Like me, Haha!

I also caved and ordered this Blue bear coin bank by Swimmer Japan. Swimmer JP is killing me with all these cute ceramic mugs, coin banks etc. Below, you can see examples of the other coin banks. The others are a bunny, kitty, and lamb. I ordered the bunny and lamb for now. I will see if I am able to get more in. I'm excited to see them!

Lastly, this adorable wind up vintage Bandai Toaster with replaced toast I was able to adopt from a fellow collector and friend. She needs a bit of help to work but still a lovely toy nonetheless! So glad to have it in my collection for now.

It is amazing how time flies and thus today is already June. A special month for many reasons and one of them is for our father's. It's also summer and I must admit it has started out to be a great one... Here are my recent vintage finds...

I was able to find a lot of Barbie by Mattel early trinket boxes. A round one and a rectangle version. I simply love the artwork on them. You can see the art is similar to some of the Barbie doll cases of the late 60s. Simply beautiful and a great vintage piece to decorate your dresser with. Next, I found these adorable Takara Japan Kurukuru Candy Babies. Still with original tags. I have already listed them in my Etsy shop.

I also found this lot of Snowbaby posies in white, red, blue and yellow. Already in the Etsy shop and yellow has sold. They are too cute!! The Holbrook Bear case is another sweet find! I love the Bear Angels and they remind me of my white Chubby Tubby! The suitcase itself is amazing!!

With little to no wear!! I will keep this case for a bit. Below, I also found this adorable pink My Toy plush chick. He is so sweet and perfect with Queenie!! I will keep him for a bit too! The rattle below, I just happened upon and it too is just the sweetest. It is sometimes rare to find rattles with the three heads. But when I do I am often smitten by them!! Haha!

My cutie Laughing pup showcasing my upcycled key necklaces!! I have a limited OOAK key necklaces in my shop here! Each with vintage Rushton cute rubber face plush on them!! I also added lovely satin bows to each. They are a nice addition to any Rushton Collection!

Lastly, these two items. I found another Rushton Bear Hand Puppet. Listed it in my shop and was adopted by the same customer who bought the Lot of two puppets I had. Now, this one will be going to a good home and a growing Rushton hand puppet collection!! Below, I saw a fellow collector and friend on IG selling these amazing vintage wind up lambs, a pink and white version. I received them last week and they are truly so amazing for a vintage item. Both still work and the pink one has sold already.

Lovely Finds!

 So many good things are abound! And I'm am just so blessed to have amazing dear friends like you to stop by and read my little blog. So thank you all so very much. I haven't done a giveaway in ages... So, I hope to do one very soon guys!! Stay tuned!

Now onto the recent finds...

These adorable ceramic Arnart birds, I was thrilled to find and sold on Etsy fast too. These are not the flat ceramic animals we normally see. These bow tie birds came in lovely colors too. So I paired them up and sold them as a set of 2 birds. Next, I was watching a live sale on IG and snagged this adorable vintage tin baby xylophone toy. He needs a lot of TLC for sure. But was so worth it because I have been wanting one for awhile now.

This adorable and weird vintage rubber faced plush below, I am not sure of the company who made them, and I've searched too. Hopefully someone with a tag on theirs may know... I won through an online auction. She needed some help, mostly her neck was not steady and flopped left to right. So I added some vintage cotton batting, and TADA! She was back to gorgeousness. I did not wash her nor did I add any blush or face paint touch ups. She was all naturally beautiful and even her fur was so soft still too! Just a gentle good brushing with a plastic doll brush, and that did the trick! I did add the bow and vtg daisies! Ha!

Just a 360 view of her. She is made similar to Rushton's Lamb, but with sleep eyes and a mold similar to that of Gund. I believe she may be by Bijou or Columbia Toys. Below, Mattel's 'Captain Kangaroo' rag doll or talking doll. He came in a lot I won and have listed him in my shop. I remember watching the kids TV show as a child. Loved watching Captain Kangaroo. He is available in my Etsy shop!

Next, this adorable Fujika flockie above, missing a lot of her flocking. So I cleaned her up and changed out her rubber stopper and painted her white. I wanted to match her hair and coloring to a little flockie ornament I also have from the same company. I then added a vtg pink rose for her to hold. Now, she is ready to be loved. I have already added her to my Etsy shop!!

This sweet 50s squeak toy pup has fur around his body and squeaks nice and loud, was also found in the same lot I won with Captain Kangaroo. He is also listed in my Etsy shop and is available for adoption! I also added this adorable pink and cream Swimmer brand telephone in my Etsy shop. Great for decor or to use as a prop in your collection photos!! Love the coloring too and it has blinged out dials too!! Haha!

Last for today, is this adorable wind up cat and ball with its original box. I just could not resist! She has the same tin mold as my white Yo-Yo bunny! Love this face style for sure. When she is winded up, her tail swings around to move her so flip as she rolls around with the ball. Just too cute!! Definitely a lovely addition to my little collection. I hope to add more goodies to my Etsy shop as I am trying to thin out my hoard!! LOL So be sure to keep an eye out on Etsy and notifications!

Vtg Finds From The Last Week or So...

 I have seen these lovely children's suitcases from fellow collectors before. Mostly in the backgrounds to their decor of recent finds. I decided to find out what they were...

The one I've seen often was a lamb surrounded by little animals and a small pond in front of her. I believe, this is the most popular one. So, when I searched it up, I found out that these were children's suitcases. I was able to find one in a style I liked, and it arrived from the States fast!

This vtg child's suitcase, designed by Margaret Holbrook has animals, a bear, lamb, pig, bunny, and rooster on a train headed away from, "Toyville" as the sign says. This Midcentury, Dolly Suitcase, is from the 1950s. Features a sweet lithograph, and the wood case itself,  is Made by LUCE Manufacturing in the US. Made of paper covered over wood, it has a plastic handle in white, and metal lock clasp. The entire case is covered by this lithograph. Inside, the suitcase is also covered in a lithograph with white and either gold or silver stars. Well, at least mine does. The backside of the case comes in either blue or pink pattern design. Which I believe to be "Blue" for boys, and "Pink" for girls.

The styles I've seen so far, are "Train", "Lamb", "Two Bears", "Carriage", and a "Sailboat". Now, I can see why these suitcases are popular and sought after by some collectors. The art is reminiscent of nursery rhymes and books of that time, and that time frame has many of the kitsch artistry we know and love with anthropomorphic animals! Next, I received this lovely vintage Mattel Barbie & Midge button and zipper accents. I figured with a few of the dolls I do have one might need some buttons! The packaging is just so cute too! I also got a few more decals, these are copies to the Meyercord decals. By the company Decorator in Canada. They might be a later release of the vintage Meyercord decals. Which makes sense as to their brighter colors, etc.

I was surprised, I found this lovely set of vtg ceramic red dotted fawn couple figurines. This is my 3rd or 4th set, to have found too. In lovely condition too, just missing their heart card that hangs off the chain. I also found this lovely vtg Japan furry Poodle Plush basket purse. In great condition, I've already added it to my Etsy shop! Then, this lovely white jointed plush rabbit ornament. It reminds me of the Easter bunnies in baskets we all enjoy getting, well at least the face does. But this version is made in China, and has markings for a company in the States. So definitely not made in Japan, like most are. Still he is cute and I will keep him for now...

 

Last, this lovely vtg Bantam plush musical action toy Mommy bun and Baby bun. She plays "Rockabye Baby" as the baby is fussing in her mother's arms. It still works too! I will be adding it to my Etsy shop soon! It is quite unique and lovely to see its movements. She still has her tag and card noting that it is an, "Action Toy!" How cool is that!
