Thrifting Has its Ups and Downs...

... And, well, if you started reading this, and was hoping for some ranting or venting to happen, sorry. Just thought I'd go with this for a post starter. LOL

Here are some goodies I found the past few weeks...

Well, technically, these are not vintage, but adorable pieces I had to share that I got from DollsKill website. They make lovely adorable pink pieces in plus sizes for us voluptuous gals. Haha! I got this adorable pink bow crochet sweater (above) and this truly gorgeous brocade dress (below). The brocade dress gives me "Bridgerton" vibes. I will be wearing this when the next series comes out in May!! Teehee!

Next, I was able to get myself this Pinocosmile from Japan needle felted running artist bun! I've always loved her works, so I am so glad I was able to get one.

The adorable Forsum dolly above, I was able to bid on and win. She is now ready to go to her forever home. Forsum definitely made some cute dollies in the 60s and 70s. Below, I found these two bunnies by Gund available and at a reasonable price. They each needed a bit of TLC and are now adopted and on layaway for a customer. I'm always happy that I am able to find new homes for the vintage toys, dolls and plushies that come through my shop. It means a lot. So thank you guys for adopting them.

These Jr Margaret dolls I was able to find for a dear friend stateside. The dolls were not regularly listed as what they are, which is 'talking dolls'. So to find these not purchased yet, was surprising. They are already on their way to they're forever home. These dolls still talk too! Wow!
One of the reasons, I searched for the dolls above, is because that same dear friend helped me to acquire this Nod by Rushton!! I found him via a marketplace, and the seller did not want to ship to me. Even though I was willing to pay her for shipping, etc. So, I went the route of asking a friend stateside to help me get him. Sure enough, she was able to meet up with the seller and get him for me! Then ship to me! I was so happy. This Nod didn't need any major work except to remove his stuffing as it was that yucky sponge stuffing. Which is what caused his pajamas to start turning brown. Long story short, he was in beautiful condition, and I didn't need to do anything major to fix him!
Below, is my vintage rattle collection... I had to bring them up to the house here for display and since I finally received this adorable changing table for baby dolls. It was a perfect shelf to display them in. I also got this adorable Krueger Bonnet doll. She was in amazing condition for her age.

More on this Changing table above, believe it or not, it was a birthday gift to myself. I found it on Etsy. But had to pay a bit more for shipping to me. It took a month to arrive. That I was not happy with, but it did arrive safely, and it was in lovely condition with the exception of the bottom shelf panel being cracked and needed fixing. Still it a lovely piece and to display my vintage toys or dolls with too! Yay!

The most adorable art piece I've acquired above. Made by Evilbimbo on Etsy. I love the way she created this painting of two cute plushies that resemble "Rushton's Peter Rabbit and Happy Bear!" Even the color of the paint and double frame she used gave me shabby chic vibes.

Well, that's all for now. I hope you find lovely vintage things that make you happy! Be sure to check my shop on Etsy for some cool vintage items available! Happy Hunting!

Goodbye August 2023...

Time has flown by and we are already at the tail end of August! Tomorrow I will wake up to September!! Oh my! Here are my recent finds...

If you recall from my trip earlier this month, I got this adorable mini puzzle frame of "Castle in the Sky". Well, I finally worked on it and Sara helped me. It was fun to do too!! I also was able to acquire more "Baby Love" bear tea set pieces. I found the plates, and the glass as well. I have the bear mug and plates listed in my shop for purchase! Check it out on Etsy!

The bear shaped mug above is my ultimate favorite!! I will keep this one along with the tea pot. I also found these adorable kitsch-tastic kitchen towels with adorable anthropomorphic cuties. I love the colors of the towels too!

I was able to track down a vintage collapsible wire laundry basket from the 1950s. I've seen it from a fellow collector and she used it as a display for her dolls. I just had to get myself one for my babies. I was surprised, that the seller had it listed so cheap with free shipping. One seller had it up with a shipping price tag of $175. I was like nope, not that one. They shipped it to me parcel select and it arrived safely too! Yay! It's often hard to find large items that ship at a reasonable price. Oh well.
I also acquired some vintage plushies to restore. Like this adorable Rushton plush elephant. He was fun to work on and turned out just so cute too! He will live with me for a bit longer. Found this adorable almost minty Gund Floral sad bunny girl with her broken plush kitty. She is in amazing condition and will be added to my shop soon! I also restored this adorable Rushton Laughing Pup and Knickerbocker Duckie. I added a bonnet to her and made the bib!

The blue kitty I also restored and repainted her eyes to be blue instead of the ugly green and yellow she had on. I also made her the top she is wearing. The blue kitty sold last week! It's fun to upcycle sometimes and give a vintage plush a new look! These adorable oil cloth plushies below, are just too cute and have already sold from my shop!
I recently won a Lot of vintage Margaret and Ribon manga Japan goods. Most are listed in my shop already. Just amazing! I will keep a few things in the lot for my collection. But oh my goodness just look! A tin full of vintage ephemera as well!!

Lastly, this adorable vintage Ruth E. Newton Nursery book. I love the graphics and the cute kitty is similar to a rubber squeak I found recently. They will be great as a combo!

Well, that's all for now. I hope you all have a wonderful September!!

Christmas Eve...

Here's hoping your Christmas wishes come true... It's Christmas Eve here on Guam and time sure feels like it is just simply flying by.

Some adorable Kiichi Tsutaya anime paper doll girl accessories. These are Gatchas available recently in either 2 bento bags, 2 tissue box covers or 2 wash cloths. All are already listed in my shop! Be sure to check it out if you want to get yourself one! Below, I bought 2 adorable Venice Margaret "Dream" Can cans. One to open and inside, there are random goodies any gal would love. When I opened one, it was like opening a time capsule. Inside this one, was a bracelet, a pick comb, tissue, lipstick, and 2 hair clips. the pink ring, I thought was a bracelet, but instead it's a plastic ring to cover the rim of the can when you open it and you can use the can to hold your make up brushes or pencils and pens. Too cute! I've always seen the can opened already and just sold as a can. But to see the unopened product was really nice too!

I found this adorable light brown Red Star Humpty Santa and he's in perfect condition too. He's already listed in my shop! I also received via seamail this vintage Rushton Saint Patrick plush I believe? I figured he was because of his lucky hat and obvious green fashion. I don't collection Rushton humans, but this one a friend will adopt from me soon.

This adorable unopened baby squeak toy, I got as a commission for a customer. It's rare I am told and just glad I was able to make someone's Christmas dream come true! It's already on it's way to him. I also found these lovely vintage chenille dollies made in Japan. They are in wonderful condition too! I may add them to my shop soon!

Last, this adorable Gund Bumble bee plushy, he just needed his ears replaced. He may also end up in my shop as well. He arrived just in time for Christmas here...

I hope you all have a great one, no matter what may be going on. Just try to remember the real reason for Christmas... The kindness of giving to others is what matters.

Vtg Finds From The Last Week or So...

I have seen these lovely children's suitcases from fellow collectors before. Mostly in the backgrounds to their decor of recent finds. I decided to find out what they were...

The one I've seen often was a lamb surrounded by little animals and a small pond in front of her. I believe, this is the most popular one. So, when I searched it up, I found out that these were children's suitcases. I was able to find one in a style I liked, and it arrived from the States fast!

This vtg child's suitcase, designed by Margaret Holbrook has animals, a bear, lamb, pig, bunny, and rooster on a train headed away from, "Toyville" as the sign says. This Midcentury, Dolly Suitcase, is from the 1950s. Features a sweet lithograph, and the wood case itself,  is Made by LUCE Manufacturing in the US. Made of paper covered over wood, it has a plastic handle in white, and metal lock clasp. The entire case is covered by this lithograph. Inside, the suitcase is also covered in a lithograph with white and either gold or silver stars. Well, at least mine does. The backside of the case comes in either blue or pink pattern design. Which I believe to be "Blue" for boys, and "Pink" for girls.

The styles I've seen so far, are "Train", "Lamb", "Two Bears", "Carriage", and a "Sailboat". Now, I can see why these suitcases are popular and sought after by some collectors. The art is reminiscent of nursery rhymes and books of that time, and that time frame has many of the kitsch artistry we know and love with anthropomorphic animals! Next, I received this lovely vintage Mattel Barbie & Midge button and zipper accents. I figured with a few of the dolls I do have one might need some buttons! The packaging is just so cute too! I also got a few more decals, these are copies to the Meyercord decals. By the company Decorator in Canada. They might be a later release of the vintage Meyercord decals. Which makes sense as to their brighter colors, etc.

I was surprised, I found this lovely set of vtg ceramic red dotted fawn couple figurines. This is my 3rd or 4th set, to have found too. In lovely condition too, just missing their heart card that hangs off the chain. I also found this lovely vtg Japan furry Poodle Plush basket purse. In great condition, I've already added it to my Etsy shop! Then, this lovely white jointed plush rabbit ornament. It reminds me of the Easter bunnies in baskets we all enjoy getting, well at least the face does. But this version is made in China, and has markings for a company in the States. So definitely not made in Japan, like most are. Still he is cute and I will keep him for now...

Last, this lovely vtg Bantam plush musical action toy Mommy bun and Baby bun. She plays "Rockabye Baby" as the baby is fussing in her mother's arms. It still works too! I will be adding it to my Etsy shop soon! It is quite unique and lovely to see its movements. She still has her tag and card noting that it is an, "Action Toy!" How cool is that!

Lovely toy finds for the week. Have a great day!
