Just Keep Busy, Just Keep Busy...

...to the tune of Dori in Finding Nemo! LOL Keeping busy is what I've been up too.

Here's what I've been busy with...

I was able to find this vtg red Dollcraft pouty and yawning plush bear, and I've already restored him and he's listed in my Etsy shop. Quite unique, never seen a pouty and yawning face before, and I didn't know Dollcraft made rubber face plushies too! He is large about 17 inches tall and has a lot of weight to him. I washed him and kept his original stuffing. I added a "Jingle" sounder, and on his right paw is a squeaker too! I hope someone adopts him for Christmas? He would be an awesome cutie under the tree this year!
I also have been falling in love with vintage baby fabric books from the 1950s. Their graphics are what I am drawn too! So vibrant and colorful, they make great props with toys and most especially Plushies! I found a lot of 3 books, "Toys", "Oh Look", and "Washing is Fun". Just look on for the graphics in them and you will see what I mean...    Only one of them has sentences, the others are simple words for baby to learn from.

A few boxes from Japan also arrived for the shop! I found this adorable Taito Toyfield Kuma Chan Bear pink plush with "Winter" fashion cape. In great condition and I listed it in my shop, it sold fast too! Plushies by Toysfield sell out fast. I will have to look out for more! Next, a commission for Chocoholic shelves, like last time. I had a few asking to find them some. This set sold and is already on its way to its new owner.

I finally won a Ningyo Hime Toei Animation Record! I've been on the hunt for this one too! I've wanted one since back in 2010 or earlier. It is amazing that I didn't get outbidded on it. The record sleeve even has amazing graphics from the movie. And just listen to the song, Marina sings!! Truly a dream come true! One of the last boxes in this week, is a vtg Oike Co. Soft vinyl doll all original with box. She too is already added to my Etsy shop. She is a cutie made prior to Sunchan, I believe. Love her hair and dress!

Next, I found this lovely Froebel Kan boardbook, that I don't have in my collection. Titled: "Playing Animals." This one features a lot of toys and plushies from Japan, like Kamar, Holiday Fair, and Herman Pecker, just to name a few!! A great book for those who love the vintage plush and toys we enjoy!! An adorable toddler dolly dress mint in package. I fell in love with the graphics on it and one can't have too many dolly dresses to play with!! Haha!

This awesome pair from Hot Chocolate, called, "Kitsch Blanket" maryjane shoes is my fave!! I got myself a pair and will wear it with my dolly dress too! It comes in an adorable ice cream sandwich box, and it doubles as a storage box too! Just too cute to wear almost!! LOL Matches all of my decor too! Last for today, is my pink Hello Joe cup, that I've added to my shop too! I think its time for someone else to enjoy it! Be sure to visit my shop, a few items have been added from my collection!!

Thank you for your support of a small business, all proceeds will go towards my medical bills. Be sure to get your annual mammogram. It could save your life! Breast cancer Sucks!!

Be safe my fellow collectors!

Adorable Finds!

Here's what came in... I was able to snag this lovely Jennyeveryday yellow bunny wall plaque! Just too cute and will go with my blue one I already have. Next, I won this lovely Toei Animation Little Mermaid book! I have been wanting the book for some time now. I was very surprised that I even won!! Usually I'm outbidded. Now, I have the art print photos and this book in my collection. Yay!

This lovely vintage set of unopened and mint beaded wallets are already listed in my shop! Just too cute and did I say mint!! Yup, mint! I had a few commissions the past few days and worked on each of them. The vtg Gund Thumper red bunny plush, had disintegrated foam stuffing inside. It was like sand as I removed it. Luckily, I had a lot of stuffing in my arsenal to replace it with. He just needed a touch up on his facepaint and some simple fixes on his collar and he was done. This version is one of my favorites of the Thumper series of plush characters.

Then, I found this lovely vtg My Toy kitty from a vtg shop and was able to adopt her. She just needed some minor fixes, touch up of face paint and a good wash and she is now adorable again! I love these sad faces too much! LOL Adorable coloring too! Below, a fellow collector's plush Rushton Panda. James of seafoodpasta on IG was at a loss, because this cutie needed fur fixing. He had patches of fur missing. Poor baby! His issues kicked my butt too! I had to fix his felt paws and feet, which were quite easy to do. But, it was the missing fur... I had to find some. Luckily, I was able to get some from a source via California. As soon as it arrived, I was able to begin the tedious job of figuring out how to do this... In the end, I was able too. Whew! I spent at least 4 to 5 hours on his fur alone.

And I think he turned out nicely. Whew! Just touched up his rosey cheeks and he is now on his way back home to James! It was definitely a challenge and I am in no way always an expert at this whole restoration thang, but it is definitely bitter sweet when it does work out in the end.

Well, Happy Friday where ever you are in the world!

Yes, I did!

 Another restored cutie pie...

I used "Buy it Now" for this cutie via Ebay and sadly she took a lot longer then usual to arrive. But, when she finally did, I just couldn't wait to see what I could do with her!?!

The past 4 days, I washed her waited for her to dry, then had to figure out how I could fix her ear situation...

In the end, I used plastic glue to fix her ears. I undid the seams and used her old body to create her new fur bod. I used Bubble gum and mint synthetic fur to replace it. I think the color combo matches her makeup nicely. I then, restuffed her, when the glue dried for the ears, I repainted her, sealed her, and TaDa! She was fabulous!! Definitely happy with the end product.
I got some more pastel chalks in, and a new paint brush for all the commissions I will be working on. I'm just glad, Volks USA is still open, whew!! May need to get a few more things there!! I also got two items in from Japan... These mint in package beaded wallets a set of 12 already available in my Etsy shop, and a Toei Anime Little Mermaid book. I have been on the hunt for this for some time!! Now, I have the actual book too! So happy!

I finished restoring the Lot of plushies from my last post also. I made the bonnet and vest for the cutie duck couple above, and they are listed in my shop! The bunny, I was able to repaint and added a bow. He will live with me for a bit... The seller even shared a photo of her as a toddler when she received these cuties back in 1958 for Easter. Just too adorable!!

Last, this lovely vtg carnival doll, and its huge!!! I love her coloring and cute face. She will stay with me for a bit too! She arrived safely all the way from Canada. I've seen these dolls many times, but this one just called to me...  Ohhhhh spooooky! NOT, She sweet in a creepy cute kinda way!

Have a great up coming weekend Y'all!!

Thank you for looking! ~ ggsdolls
