Speaking of forgetting, it has been a busy month. I almost forgot I still have another surgery needed. But, because they have stopped any surgeries on island due to Covid. I guess, that is a good thing for now. 

I was playing with baby bun and decided to take a photo of her on one of the blankets I had made recently. A fellow collector shared with me a site, that I could design some cute things from somewhat similar to Society6. But, this one give me free rain to create and I can do it via their site! Yippee! So, I made this lovely baby blanket. I also made a Pouf Cube, which is like a foot stool. But, it took almost forever to get to me!! Ugh. The first blanket is this lovely vtg kitsch animals and blue plaid. This one turned out lovely. I will keep this one. When the foot stool showed up finally after a month, I used my Rushtons to create an ABC cube. You can see it further down the post. Then, about a week and a half ago, I made 2 more blankets. I have already added the ottoman to my shop on Etsy and I will add the yellow kitsch animals blanket soon!

The cube foot stool above, is large. Though in the description on the website, it is called, "a small cube". But, to me, it is not small. Still, I love how it turned out!! Below, some finds via Yahoo Japan. I received this lovely set of Kogei Bito ceramic pink Bunny couple figurines. I listed them in my shop this morning and they sold almost immediately! Yay! I also received the New Charmy Chan animals collection of miniature dolls from a Japan hobby shop site. I preordered them back in July. They are slightly larger then the set that was released last year. I already listed some in my shop. I also found another "Lucky Baby Bunting." Book. This time not by Saafield. The book is in English and is larger than my other set. I just love this book so much!! It's definitely a keeper for sure!

Above, this lovely Fable Toys plush Pajama doll bag was just too cute to not get. She is almost mint and I think her face is just the sweetest too! Ugh, now to decide to keep or sell... Haha! Next, I cleaned and restored another Rushton plush named, "Maisy" the small purple cow. I won her via an auction and she needed a bit of restoring. Now, she looks so cute along with my other Daisies. Both Daisy in purple and Maisy are on their way to their new Momma in Phoenix, AZ. I know they will be loved!! I was also able to adopt a fellow collector and friend's creation, Shevie Bear in aqua! I have been wanting Shevie's wear bear brooches for ages since learning she made them! So, this was my year, I was able to snag one!! He is truly too cute for words and small enough to take with you!! Yippee!

Then, I adopted three adorable handmade clown plushies from a fellow seller via IG. She uses vintage rubber faces and makes their bodies. Each one above is quite unique. I may sell one or two... LOL Next, this Ganz, rubber face plush raccoon. I have only seen KQ's plush just like this one. It is made in Canada and I love its coloring. I just added a bow to her. I also restored this adorable weird looking baby boy duckling by Gund. He came wearing a jumper with huge bells on the straps. I removed them and added some vintage blue buttons instead. Then, also got him a bonnet in blue with dots. He will live with me for a bit.

I also wanted to share that I didn't own any Lina dolls for a few years until this past year. LOL I found a loose Lina in my last post here. Then, found a prototype Lina? Not sure. A fellow collector shared his with me a few months back, but then in one of my usual searches I found one listed for sale. So odd, because I have never seen this type before even when I first started to collect Lina dolls. So, I honestly think either she is a prototype or a clone of sorts. As you can see above, their faces are quite different, even their hand gestures are different, and their feet. Body shape and stance are the same. Hopefully one day I will figure this one out. So far, only two have surfaced.

Last, two lovely Look and See Books by Wonder Book. I bought them as a lot. I have about 2 others in this series. They are similar to Froebel Kan books, in that they use vintage dolls and toys in their pages to tell a story. In this case, it is about, "My Dolls" and "My Toys". In the doll book, you will see many adorable Japan made and Italian made dolls from the 60s and 70s. In the toys book, there are Christmas ornaments, we often see made of felt from Japan!! That is what caught my attention and made me want to buy these books! A lovely addition to the series I do have.

Here's Johnny!

 ... a quote from the movie, "The Shining". I recently watched it with Sara last week Thursday. We've had many conversations about horror films and I've told her how my parents always enjoyed a good scary movie. I used to love Horror films, but since having Taby and Sara, I've pretty much steered clear of them. Only to find out later, Sara enjoys them as much as I did as a teen! LOL

Halloween has come and gone, so here's some adorable finds that came in...

I found a vintage doll dress that could somewhat fit my Alice doll. Here she is wearing the dress. I think it looks great on her, a bit snug, but now, she looks more like Alice, then the red dress she had on. I was also given these lovely ceramic bunny hangers from my sister in-law. She had them in her car and wasn't sure who left them while she was moving to her new place. So, she let me have them. They are ceramic bunny hangers or wall hooks. I believe they are 80s, and listed them in my shop. They sold in just a few hours too!

I finally, got these Country Cow sounders, made as joke gifts via my sister in WA. I bought them, but of course, they wouldn't ship to Guam, so I had my sister receive them and she mailed them out to me. I needed them to see if they would work out for my pink Daisy cow. When it arrived, I worked on her over the weekend and was able to replace her foam stuffing into synthetic stuffing and just put this Moo voice box inside. Now, she is just like my purple Daisy and makes the same or similar sounds! Yay! I'll upload a video with her completed and the sound from the voice box. I also adopted this lovely vintage rubber face, handmade by Fleamarque on IG. I love this type of clown face. Just too cute!

From Japan, I found this box of Kanebo pink yarn, still in its box with booklet. I have already added it to my shop. Lovely quality yarn too. Kanebo's mascot is the lovely posedoll you see on the front of the box. Love her, and I hope to find that doll too!! Next, I also got in the mail these lovely Rune Naito retro bag miniatures by Ken Elephant. They are only sold in Japan and haven't been offered outside of Japan as yet. I was able to snag a few and they are seriously too cute. Just like the anime girl bags of the 1960s, these bags, have a tiny mirror and handle. You can definitely use them as props with your favorite doll, like Licca, or Blythe! There are six styles to choose from!

Than, I found a lot of vintage baby bonnets, that I am hoping to use on a cutie I am awaiting to arrive. So more on them later. Next, this lovely Rushton reproduced and aged look advertisement. I added a satin bow to hang it up on my wall. I love it and hope that I can get more. I found this lovely sofubi or soft vinyl tan gal wearing a sailor fashion via Yahoo Japan. I have already listed her in my shop, so she is available too. Love her unique face and fashion!  A Ginny type party dress made by Shillman and mint in package. I added snaps to it and hope to put it on Betsy soon!

A cutie all the way from Australia! I was worried, because sadly, the US is not shipping to Australia, well at least USPS isn't ugh. But it's weird because they can't receive our mail, but yet, we are able to receive mail coming out of Australia. I do hope it changes and soon, I have many collector friends via Australia and I know a few who are waiting to get goods from us here in the US. Ugh. This adorable plush is also a squeak toy. I pressed his tummy and he squeaked. Which I didn't know, and it didn't say in the listing?! Haha, but that's okay, I love him and he's pink!!

Last, this lovely vintage plastic pastel telephone. I have been on the search for this for some time and to find one via an IG sale, was so cool and well awesome!! Generally, when I do see them they sell fast and I must admit I did a little happy dance when I found it was still available. It came with a red and yellow one, but Sara claimed it. Which was fine because I wanted this one mostly! Haha!

So She Lured Us Away with Treasures and Treats...

It has been a somewhat busy month thus far. Many adorable treasures found...

Adorable Meyercord decal child's plate from an online market in Japan. It is in lovely condition and has already been sold. This decal I hope to find some day. Still we can enjoy it beauty on this plate! Many of my vintage treasures I found back in the summer have arrived this month. Ugh, I dislike sea mail, but it is worth it in order to be able to buy and get these treasures out to you, my dear customers!!

Than, a totally random thing happened!! I found a pink Rushton Daisy!! I was in shock. She arrived safely to me and fast too! I cleaned her up and noticed, several things different as compared to the purple Daisy... First, she is stuffed with foam. Second, no "Moo" sounder inside, sadly no tag, missing her bell, and she needed a good wash. I'm guessing foam stuffing was in the late 50s early 60s? Not sure. So she was light and easy to wash. I replaced her cow bell and am waiting for her "Moo" sounder to come in the mail. I did have to wash her twice, sadly, the years of dust on her coat has made her fur darker. Still, she is one of my faves. I've been wanting a pink or white Daisy. So, to have her is pretty awesome and then, I saw 2 others sold recently on Ebay. LOL When it rains, it pours!!

Both my purple and pink Daisies. I may sell my purple one, so be sure to check my Etsy shop often!! Next, another item I found via online Japan shop, a pink Rushton sleep eyed kitty!! This type is very rare, I've only seen other kitties like this twice. They are similar to Gund with their sleep eye feature. But, Rushton's design is a bit more whimsical and sweet, I think. A bit more so as compared to Gund. She still has her original tag and her sleep eyes are a bit wonky and can stick. But overall, she is adorable and has already been adopted. I truly enjoy learning new things about Rushton plushies, especially those we rarely see!

Another long awaited find from Japan, this adorable "Chibi-Neko" doll plush from the manga anime, Wata no Kunioshi or "The Star of Cottonland." by Yumiko Oshima. You can read some information here. She has been on my wishlist for some time. Most often, she is very costly, so to find her online for cheap, was like a dream, Yay me!! She just needed a wash and freshen up. I added a little flower to her. She will live with me for a time. So very happy to have found her too. I also ordered a few goodies from Eico Hanamura's shop in Japan. Mostly for Christmas gifts. LOL I ordered, a mug, a canvas print, a pillow, and clear folders. All with Eico's lovely manga shoujo anime art on them. Just too cute!

Next, this lovely High Fashion Lina doll clone or mannequin? She has the same body as Lina, but her hands and feet along with her facial expression are different. I've only seen one other from a fellow collector. So I am not sure what to make of this?! Because I have never seen them before ever in all my years of collecting Lina dolls. Perhaps, someone took the molds and created a new girl or perhaps, these were prototypes and are only surfacing now? Well, either way, it's truly stomped me! I will have to take side by side photos to show a more detail explanation. Maybe on my next post. More soon! Truly a mystery for now! I also searched and found these cute egg cups. A fellow collector had them in her profile pic on IG and I just had to find them. Surprisingly, I did!! The hats are not original to them. But, they make for cute posts!! Squee! Happy finds for sure!

A fabric book, that needs a good wash, but also has adorable graphics on it. These unique clown posedolls I found as a lot, have wires in their arms and legs. I thought they might be ornaments, but they aren't. Still adorable and great for props too! Love their clowny faces. Last, another Vanavana Japan long sleeve top, that would be cute even on a Rushton plush! Fits a size 4T in toddlers too! Has already been listed in my Etsy shop!! Be sure to visit!

My How Time Flies!

 I've been MIA as of late because of many things... One of them being the reason I became a collector, and then a seller. It has always been a joy to find amazing vintage dolls and toys, but I must admit, there are times when I just want to stop, sell everything and move on to the next adventure! And a few times as you've probably read, I have come so very close to doing just that! 

But then, I find myself falling right back into it, mostly because of a new interest, new find or just the joy of finding things, that I found in myself to be very therapeutic in some ways. But, sometimes there are moments, when you get that feeling of WTH, and oh my gosh, it just makes me cringe. I have heard a recent fellow collector having to talk about "Bullying" in the Squeak Toy community. So she did an IG video about it. It never fails, and for those of us who are avid collectors, it's like a drill and we go through it often so we just have to ride the wave until that person or persons get with the program. 

I've even resorted to creating a blog post about the way we collect and what rules one can expect when collecting and dealing with other collectors. The post was done back in 2018. Read more here... 

Now this brings me to one of those kinds of experiences... I was recently asked by a fellow collector via IG, if I could buy him something? Generally, if most buyers ask me to buy them something, it is after we've found something they've wanted and then send me the money to help them get it, etc. So, it could be a miscommunication thing or a language barrier, But this person seemed to speak very good English, or so I thought. But, at the time, I felt a bit insulted. It wasn't anything expensive, but the way he went about asking me, seemed awkward. He then said, he'd pay me back. As a seller, I'm sorry, I don't do credit or loans for my services or I'd be broke, and we had only been talking about our collection via IG for the last 2 months or so. I felt like he must think I'm some rich old broad. LOL Nope, I've just learned to be very careful in the way I spend my money and how I save. So, this recent experience, had me stop for a bit. I've gotten some oddballs in my time, but it felt like this person assumed I was a millionaire! Nope, far from it dear!

Okay, just had to vent on that and move on... I haven't shared this lovely vintage Rushton Happy Bear, I've had for several months now... Mostly, because, I was hoping to use him to adopt the Happy Bear I've long wanted. Sadly, that was not the case... So many are holding onto theirs and I don't blame them. This vintage multi-colored Rushton, I gave in to buying is from Japan. He is missing his tag, but there is the Rushton Co. markings under his chin. So he's authentic for sure. He is also quite rare because we've never seen him in a tri-color edition.

He has blue, pink, a purple tummy, ears, and tail. He is about 9 inches tall and is filled with foam and cotton batting, I believe. Some of the foam pellets fall out, because while I hold him and look him over, sometimes I find small foam pellets in his fur. He doesn't have any odors and he's quite clean and lovely actually. His face paint is a bit worn, but nothing major.

I have been told I was crazy to let him go and have thought maybe I shouldn't. But, he is not the one I actually want. I want a large size Happy Bear. One day, I hope too! Next, are a few of the items I've acquired since my last post. Yes, it looks like a lot of stuff, but these are purchases that have accumulated for the past 3 weeks of finds and a few I bought last month. This lovely vintage ceramic 'Soft Cream' coin bank. I've always been wanting a ceramic ice cream cone, and this one was at a reasonable price, so I got it through Yahoo Japan. When it arrived via DHL, it smelled of heavy cigarettes, yuck! Quick solution, wash it in dish soap. Ta-Da! Smell is gone. Whew!

I also got another 2 boxes of Charmy-chan doll miniatures to sell. They had to be on back order sadly, and now, they are sold out in most places. I also found this lovely My Toy plush Rooster, mostly to sell in my shop. He is listed there already. A grouping of vintage Saila dolls for a commission of a friend. She won each of them and at auction start price! I'm so happy for her too! In early January, I began sewing this cute Fuzcow in being. He has a squeak in his right hoove, and a tingaling sounder inside. I didn't share this one too much as I am having a hard time letting him go...LOL I didn't realize I would like the cow plush, but now I'm finding I do! Haha!

These Geo deers above, are listed in my shop now. Finds from Yahoo Japan as well. I had to get myself a set of these gold and silver tone Charmy-chan's. They don't come in the boxes we buy from shops. But, I was told they do? I've opened 5 boxes so far and never found one in them. So, I believe these special boxes are sold only to shops. I could be wrong. The Sekiguchi Bunka, nice and minty and still in her original packaging. She 'Coo's' too! In my Etsy shop!

Oh my gosh! This Chocoholic retro shelf, I found online in Japan, is the bees knees!!! I was very happy to find this one! The brand is a part of Swimmer Japan. Sadly, no longer open. But, from time to time you can find their items on Yahoo Japan. I was searching for some plates I could display in my GE cabinet, and I found these lovely Starburst tin plates for children, about 1950s. Sadly, they are too large to fit inside the cabinet with the sliding doors. But, I love the design, and they came with silver spoons, forks, and knives.

I also bought from a fellow collector and friend's shop on Etsy, Feerique. This lovely vintage Lotte Licca chan flat vinyl paper doll. She had to go to my sister in WA, then mailed back to Guam to me. LOL Especially since, EMS doesn't ship to Guam still, ugh. Below that, still trying to find a set that would work lovely in the cabinet, this set of aqua Akro Agate tea set, missing a few pieces. I was surprised they made children version of these milk style glass tea sets. So adorable and small, but still too large for my GE. Ugh! At some point, I hope I find something?!

Found this lovely Gund bunny with wired ears came in her original box too!! I was so surprised and she is so minty too. I did have her washed as she smelled a bit like moth balls. Otherwise gorgeous and her box graphics too!! I may sell her... These lovely odd plastic bunny rabbit craft faces are creepy cool to me! I will have to think of what I can make them into! I also found this lovely oil cloth vintage clown via ebay! I had him on my watch list for a week, and finally caved and bought him! He's another creepy cute keeper!!

Last, is this blue straw plush Easter bunny, made in Japan. Just adorable and will go great with my other bunnies! A lovely addition to my little collection! From the last post of my Lady Baltimore suitcase, I was able to find a replacement key via Ebay and it works too! So now, I am able to lock the suitcase. I still need to clean it down. Been too busy. We also finally had a guest booking for our Tonggan Garden Studio. It was a staycation and not tourists from off island. Still, it was nice to have someone enjoy the place! Back to the grind...
