A Closer look at My Finds from Japan...

In a few days it will be Halloween and November not long after! I've been so busy this month with travel, and I am not complaining mind you. Haha! It has been amazing for sure. So I figured I'd make a separate post on things I've found while on my trips.

The items above, I got from the Daiso at Aeon Narita Mall. I found so many cute things! Never easy leaving a Daiso shop empty handed. Of course Halloween cards, a blue tooth speaker that looks like a retro record player, Miku Hatsune coin purse, another applique of a bunny this time, and some acrylic anime girlie card and stand up character.
From the gacha machine at Aeon, I tried to get some cuties like Mikko Illustration figures, and mini plushies, but when I went back, the gachas were sold out and not replenished. Darn! I bought three charms from Patty's Shop, and from the local supermarket store I found Sebon Star lip balm, hair clip and Jewel case!
I will add the lip balm and hair clip to my shop later. The jewel case, was my fave find! It was in the color I wanted too. I saw purple and pink, but only bought the pink and teal. I thought I wouldn't want it, but when I opened up the box... it was just too cute not to add it to my dresser! Haha!

I simply love the coloring. It also came with a heart shaped necklace with the same teal gem on it. Brings out the Sailormoon vibes for me too! LOL! Below, a closer look at the mini record player. I've already charged it. Sadly, it doesn't come with a plug to charge it. You will have to get that separately. Still it is a nice look and great for retro decor or display. There were others in blue, and white, besides the pink, that I got.

Above, are some of the items I got from this recent trip with my sister. These mini plush bag tags that say, "Rainbow" on the monster and the rainbow man. The shop had them as popular for tourists on the display and specific to Haneda Airport mascots. I got one for Sara and one for myself. The name plates I found at the SoraDonki with our names in Kanji. Sadly, I couldn't find one for Taby. Not even the name Tabitha. Darn!
These gachas I became a bit obsessed with... Seashore Uwakai Pearls. The gacha vending machine was about one thousand yen each pull and they are all random of course. If you get a gray ball that means you will get a special pearl or a set of two pearl jewelry. So I got a few. Haha! I even got one gray ball, it came with a pair of earrings and a necklace!! I even snagged a black pearl bracelet!! Keeper for sure! Below, my Happy Meal toy from McD's a mini world travel booklet. I was hoping I could use it as a journal, but instead it is a magazine style booklet of miniatures in 144 scale of Japan sights. Still a keeper for memories with my sister for sure!
A few of the things I got from the Gacha shop! I gave a few away and kept a few. Hoping to add them to my travel journal! I found Rune Naito acrylic charms!! So happy to see them. I was trying to get a blue one! No dice! But that's okay!

If you recall from my last post I said I found a black bag in a magazine, well, I also found a Hello Kitty purse!! There was one is black and one in white. I got this white one! It comes with a shoulder strap in case you don't want it to be just a hand bag! So cute too! The black one was a makeup case. I decided not to get it just this one.

It was a lovely journey with my children and with my sister this month. Now, it is time to enjoy Halloween at the end of the week!

I hope you all have a lovely Halloween! Enjoy!

He Spoke Not a Word, But Went Straight to His Work...

Tis' the season folks!! Here are some unique finds the past few weeks into December!

I received a lot of items from Japan, that was sitting in a warehouse since 2020!!! Yup, 2020. When the pandemic began, I was still getting my boxes via EMS Japan, but by that summer, all flights stopped coming out of Japan into Guam. So, I had a lot sitting for over 2 years, because it was filled with ceramics that could not be sent in a cheaper way besides EMS, ugh. Oh well, so my loss is your gain. Many of these cute ceramic coin banks, etc. are listed in my shop!!

Can you imagine even this cutie who is the largest I've found, was stuck in Japan for that long as well. He is now safely with me and will be added to my shop as well!! Adorable Fujika flocked bear holding an ear of corn! Haha! Below, I also won this lot of anime girl toy jewelry sets. They are already listed in my Etsy shop!!

This 'smexy' and not a typo, Ado Mizumori Bouffant lady reading news ashtray? Not sure, perhaps just a figurine. Was listed in my shop and sold. I've only seen one other from a friends collection too! Below, a tiny tin canister by Chocoholic!! I fell in love with it and its so cute and tiny too! It now sits on my dresser for display.

I also adopted another vtg Japan dakin plush tiger. This one is just too funny and cute. I couldn't resist him! Both tigers are unique and remind me of 50s Japan. I also got this adorable new to me vtg rattle doll that stands upright. She has a wood body and rest of her is plastic or celluloid like my other cuties. I love her so much and she is quite unique for sure!

I also won this lot of plushies below. Most were in beautiful condition, no issues or flaws. My favorite is the Ideal pink Piggy. She will live with me for a bit. The others are up for grabs in my Etsy shop!! There is a Knickbocker Pouty baby in blue, a fabric face sleeping baby in amazing condition and so nice and soft too, and a Chubby Tubby the small size!! Trust me I so want to keep him!! Ugh! Or all of them, but I can't!

This adorable child's suitcase, I could not pass up on... It is definitely made in Japan and possibly by Rune Naito, because of the art work on the front of the case. Inside it is lined in a lovely pink color. Still in pretty decent condition for its age. I did have to reglue the mirror and I need to figure out what to use to take away the glue residue along the edges of the vinyl on the outside of the bag. It is a gross orange color.... Hmmm. What to do...

Next, I purchased this adorable miniature porcelain doll made by a S. Korean doll artist NursingU. She arrived safely to me and is just the cutest tiny little thing! Very well made and truly the sweetest thing ever! I hope to get another doll by her. I also bought a lovely plush side sleeping bear by Icecreambearshop. He arrived safely and so soft and just too cute!! So many cuties by Icecreambearshop are selling out!! Be sure to snag yours before they are all gone!! Available in my Etsy shop!

This posedoll I found in a Lot, I have one doll listed, but this one I will keep perhaps. She reminds me of Junichi Nakahara's 50s style art. Her face and eyes are just dreamy, and she's a whopping 24 inches tall!! She came with her original box as well. Just look at how adorable it is. I can imagine a Dad buying his daughter this doll to bring back to the States... How sweet!

Last, this adorable Macoto paint palette. It too was in a lot that I purchased from Yahoo Japan. Lovely artwork of Macoto T. girls and this one is my fave for sure. It also came with its original box. Made by the Japanese company Venice for school supplies.

It opens up like so. Truly adorable for sure!!

Well, that's all for now. I hope your holidays are shiny and bright this year! Until next time...

New Cuties and Finds!

It has been a decent start to the week! A few goodies I found through out the end of December into January and her they are...

This lovely Artist Bunka doll from Japan. I found for my shop. She is a lovely version of Bunka and even has saran hair. She is already listed in my Etsy shop. I have been wanting this lovely pin caddy, mostly because of the colors. So, I found one with its original box!! It came with 3 safety pins too! I will be using mostly to display the bead pin dolls I've been making. More on the bead dolls later in this post!
Shaped like a rooster, the pin caddy is cute! You push down on his crown and his beak releases the safety pins. Its tail part can be used to undo the pin or redo the pin with one hand. Helpful when you are changing a diaper. You might've seen it often. I know I do. Haha! Next, this lovely Lucite jewelry box, I found recently, is from Japan. In Japan auctions they can cost a lot, but outside of Japan, they are very nicely priced, and it still works too! I may keep this one? Haha.

Then, this vintage Toho Bussan pink plush bunny, is similar to Sekiguchi plushies. She has sleep eyes with eyelashes and just reminds me a lot of Twin Stars or maybe Joan Anglund children? I was going to keep her, but she's big and I just don't have the room! Already listed in my Etsy shop! Back in September, I found out that a these adorable Rune Naito mascots were going to be released in December. So, I was able to preorder one set. It arrived safely and they are just like the ceramic versions!! Smaller to the ceramic ones, they can also twist their heads! A set of six and all are available in my Etsy shop!

While doing my usual searches, I found this lovely art print. The seller listed it as a silhouette of girl with bird cage. It reminded me of something whimsical. I bought it straight away! Now, to find a companion! A doll collector via IG announced the release of her porcelain doll Sleeping Sylvy!! I was fortunate to snag one and she arrived to me safely. Oh my goodness, she is just the sweetest artist doll. If you love Frozen Charlotte dolls, Leledolls are perfect! Made in S. Korea by Leledolls.

I was able to snag this rare "Ooh Bunny" girl Rushton in red and white dots. Definitely worth it. I originally got her to sell, but oh my goodness, I fell in love with her! She is just too cute! All original and still has her original tag. I only added a red ribbon, and the daisy in her hand. Back in October, I found this lovely Rushton "Crying" Kitty too! I lovely condition as well. I will add her to my Etsy shop sometime soon! So be on the look out or keep your notifications for Etsy on!

This Rushton "Cuddle" bunny needed help. I snagged her for a good price, and knew I could probably restore her. So, it took me about 2 weeks. I had to wash her twice. Sadly, the stains couldn't completely come off. But, most did get removed. Her face had caked on dirt and dust. As soon as I used the Mr. Clean eraser, I was so happy to know that it would work. Because at first, I thought I would have to repaint her whole face. But after using the eraser, I found she just needed a touch up of her eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth only! Yay! I found a vtg doll skirt in red and added a satin red bow. She is just too cute and would be lovely for Valentine's Day. I hope to add her to my Etsy shop soon too! Just check out the before and afters...

Okay and now to talk about my recent handmade cuties... I decided to try my hand at making bead dollies. I made them to be similar to nursery rattle dolls. But, these versions you can wear as a pin, on a necklace or even a key chain and take them anywhere with you! The first batch I made below, sold in one day!! I was thrilled and so thankful!! I decided to make more in other colors.

2nd Batch of bead dollies above, are listed in my shop! I worked on a 3rd batch, and this time used "Swarovski" crystal beads at the center of the flower. I literally paint their tiny bead faces similar to the vintage Japan wood beads you see in craft supplies, and then pick and choose certain colored beads to make them look like doll rattles. My favorite colors of course are the pastels. Haha, can't get enough of em'!! I add a colored safety pin and TADA! A brooch to wear!

Above, are flower brooches which are a work in progress. I was testing out the beads, a bit heavy so I need to figure out a way to put the pin at the back side, so that it will be stable. Sadly, my first attempt, they want to fall to one side or the other. Still needs work for sure... Last, these pics Taby sent me while she was out Thrifting. She found me a cute Posedoll. But sadly, it has stains, so I will not be able to fix her. So I told her I'll pass. It's nice to know that my local thrift might have some gems like this though! Yippee!!

I hope your January is off to a good start! Hugs all around!
