Love the Giver More Than The Gift...

15 more days til' Christmas! Here's what I've found recently...

This adorable rare Macoto Journal or "Free Diary" is in used condition, but just simply lovely. I was very surprised to find it. I love Macoto's artwork and his ladies are always surrounded by flowers. This book will be treasured for sure! One of my favorite finds last month or so. Next, while do my usual searches, I found a MaWaPhil doll with her original tag. This is Little Miss Muffet by Mary Rushton. She is in beautiful condition and her tag is just too cute. One of Mary's earlier works for sure. She is already listed in my shop!

Next, I found this lovely musical record player and coin bank. I added the blue bear decal by Meyercord on the front. Just adorable! Now, to decide if I will keep or sell... Haha! I also won this lot of 2 baby doll fashions via Ebay. One fits my tiny Rushton Baby and I am hoping the other will fit my Sekiguchi baby!

Just having fun with tiny Rushton baby in her walker. She is truly special to me and just had to share... Than, I was able to snag this Rushton Box from Japan. Just look at all the adorable art work on it. This one is definitely an earlier Rushton box because it mostly features plush animals, and only one rubber face. Yup, you guessed it "Chubby Tubby" so probably about 1950s or so. Just look at each of the plushies represented...

Also, I did a few restorations and upcycled this adorable Rushton kitty. I gave her blue eye shadow and eyelashes. She sold in my shop last month and I'm so happy she has a forever home. She is quite unique and still had her original Rushton tag. Then, I restored this lovely curly haired 'Happy' bear for a collector in Japan. Her 2nd time utilizing my service. Thank you dear Satoko! He turned out lovely as well and I'm so please she was happy with him too!

This adorable Sun Rubber, yup you heard me right, Sun Rubber tin baby doll crib! It is a doll bed and if you flip it, a doll rocking bed. I couldn't resist getting it. Mostly for the color and graphics on it. Just too freakin' cute for sure! I believe it fits any of the Sun Rubber squeak dolls perhaps. I have not found any information on it. It sits underneath my pink Christmas tree this year! Eek, so cute!

I also received a care package from one of my dearest friends! Thank you Alvina! I love the Johanna Parker creamer and sugar bowl she sent me. We do get some J. Parker items, but only through Ross on Guam. So they can be hard to find if you don't catch them when Ross stocks up their shelves. LOL So many cute things she sent, like a tin filled with yummy snacks, and lip balm and lotion. I just love everything. I truly appreciate you dear!

Lastly, this adorable artist made rubber face, "Scrappy" bear purse by the talented, Bluu.squeaks on Instagram! I bought one of her purses to go with my blue dress. And just look it is perfect!! The quality and cuteness is just amazing. I love the pompoms most, so colorful too! Can't wait to wear my dress and get out there for photos!!

Bluu has other styles available. Be sure to check her out on Instagram or tiktok! Definitely worth getting and affordable as well!

Hope you've gotten your Christmas shopping started?

Upcycled Goodwill Find!

The past week, I worked on the adorable Goodwill piece I took home with me from Jacksonville in my post here.

I was trying to find a replacement ballerina for the third spot missing one. But, sadly, this style of ballerinas are not so easily found. So, I thought perhaps I could use cake topper ballerinas. Nope, only because their legs would hit each other as they twirled. So, I remembered I had a pink rose cabochon that was given as a gift from a purchase some time ago. I searched my drawer of treasures and finally found it.

This will take the place of the missing ballerina. Now, to find my Dremel to make the hole... While trying to remember where that tool was, I began painting the top of the Gazebo. I liked the gray but wanted it to match the rest of the music box. So I painted it white. I touched up just the white parts of the gazebo as well, and left the pink as it was also nice that it was dinged up in some areas. Only because it gave it some character and history of once being loved by a little girl perhaps. I also began sewing new pink sheer tutus for the ballerinas, since one was missing hers. So I had to make em' match.

After not being able to find the Dremel tool, that my husband misplaced. He suggested I heat a nail and just melt the hole into the cab. So I did. Sure enough it fit right into the metal peg for what would have been the 3rd ballerina's spot. I glued down all the items onto each of the pegs. While that dried, I began to add this lovely pink lace trim around the gazebo. Than, I added some Meyercord sticker decals around it. Last, I added some pastel pink and blue sheer ribbons to each of the arches.

I winded up the music box and even though the song, "Music Box Dancer", played slightly a bit slow, it was still lovely to see the ballerinas rotate as if they were dancing around underneath the gazebo. Even the rose rotated, how precious. Haha. I can imagine the little girl who once owned this music box, must have loved it a lot and played with it often. But as she grew up, it was time to let go of it or perhaps because she misplaced one ballerina she that she took from it to play with, and in the end lost it. If only a vintage piece could speak. LOL Maybe not, we might get freaked out! Ha! Above, the before and after shot of the gazebo music box.

Well, either way, this adorable music box has many more years to be enjoyed. For now, it will stay with me! Have a great weekend dear friends!

"If You Are Always Trying To Be Normal...

... You will never know how amazing you can be. " - Maya Angelou

I recall a former teacher telling me normal is boring, and that idea has always stuck with me. Hmmm, nice to visit old ideas perhaps...

I recently, found this love vtg dollhouse wooden closet, and it looked a lot like a closet I had purchased from MerryBee in Japan. Sure enough, it is the very same. Merrybee had upcycled the one I bought, and I decided I would do the same with this one!!

I repainted the doors on both closets, even the one I got from Merrybee. I changed the Happy Birthday decal that it had and decided to place these adorable small meyercord stickers onto them. A lovely choice of bears or fawn and lamb. I will keep the pink one and the blue closet is already listed in my Etsy shop! They each have working doors and drawer. Too cute and great for a mini nursery themed bedroom!

Then, I found this adorable vtg Ganz Bros. Toy Co. plush doggy with bone. He arrived to me safely from Canada. I almost didn't get him, because the seller had put the wrong box number. He was listed on my Etsy shop yesterday and was adopted fast! Just too cute and he just needed a good wash and I added the satin blue bow to him. I also found this box of Zany Zooful miniature plushies made for Montgomery Wards. They are sawdust mini felt animals, made in Japan. Sadly, four of them are missing, since the previous owner must have kept them. The hard part is deciding to resell them. LOL The box even has its original price sticker. I love NOS finds and can imagine when they were on toy shelves...

Next, this lovely vtg new baby greeting card, I found. Features a lovely Gund lamb. I sold one very similar to this one. Love vtg cards with toys and plushies in it!! A great addition to my collection! Then, I finally was able to snag this awesome Rushton pink Happy Bear brooch made by the famously talented and funny KewtKitsch on Etsy. Heather is so down to Earth and always makes me laugh. Thank you so much dear for the lovely note, I will treasure the brooch and message. You inspire me dear and now, I have something to remind me of your inspiration!! Love you!! Be sure to visit her shop on Etsy! She has many cute creations to add to your collection too!!

Alice won't give me the brooch back!! LOL

Have a well rested 3 day weekend for those in the USA!! Around the world, I hope you all have a great weekend too!!

Thank you for visiting! ~ ggsdolls
