Hickory Dickory Dock, The Mouse Ran Up The Clock...

..."The Clock Struck One, The Mouse Ran Down. Hickory Dickory Dock." ~ Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme.

August is on its way out... Here are some finds from the past week! Below, 1963 New York Expo Napco shakers, boy and girl repaired. Still a lovely vintage shaker set. They are just too adorable. I've added them into my shop and by the way, since Friday, I have been running a 25 percent off sale in my shop! check it out sale ends Monday, August 26th.

Above, this item is not vintage, I made sure to get myself a lovely handmade beaded "Shroom" bracelet by Acid Banana. Susie has so many cute beaded items and this one I just had to go for because of the lovely pastel colors. A great addition to my jewelry collection. Below, I got several vintage pieces from Japan. A lot with anime girl coloring books and memo, along with an Alice in Wonderland hanger still in its package!! Most of the items will be added to my shop.

This amazing find, Alice hanger, was what made me buy the lot. Faded, but still lovely. The hanger is mint in package and I removed it to clean up the hanger. Still with tag. She has some wear, but just too cute. I may decide to keep her. We will see... Haha!

The next few items are already listed in my shop, this lovely coloring sheets from the 1950s are unopened and I believe includes a paper doll and sheets to color. This lot of 9 Seika Brand coloring fashion doll overlay and memo notebook. My favorites because the dolls remind me of Lotte Pretty Lady Gum dolls. Kimiko Tanaka is the artist. The booklets are available in my shop, your choice with Free Shipping!!

A boys vehicle memo booklet case with memo pad, includes lovely art of different vehicles like a motorcyle, ship, train and spaceships, unused. Below another fashion doll coloring book also in my shop. These items are in unused condition and lovely for any collector!!

This adorable plastic toy compact, watch and lipstick set, comes with a mirror, brush, and necklace. I love vintage jewelry sets, this one I wanted for the lipstick and compact. Mostly because it reminds me of Max Factor compact and lipsticks. This is the first lipstick to look more realistic so it will make a great prop for my photos!! I have a second set that is in my shop if you are interested! Below, I worked on a glass bottle I got from the Goody store and added a Meyercord decal to it and bow. This bottle is also in my shop. It turned out lovely too!

Last but not least this adorable My Toy pink and white bunny with rubber head. I cleaned her up and added a bow. Her face was touched up a bit. She is already listed in my shop and ready to be loved. I hope you all had a decent August, now let's enjoy the holidays coming up...

Happy Thrifting Y'all!!

Busy Creating...

As I slowly completed some projects the past few days, I was able to begin on others to get them done. I had actually gotten this adorable vintage rubber face cat girl doll from a fellow collector via IG. She had the doll up for auction and I was actually surprise to be the winner. I had gotten her since last week. Last night into today, I decided I would work on her!

Above photo not mine, from the auction on IG. She was basically, a rubber face modified onto a 12 inch doll body. She had two fashions with her. When she arrived, I took the head off and saw that the neck was pushed in from the back of the neck, and glued in order to fit the neck joint of the doll body. I was able to remove the glue on the neck area, but the rubber part of the back neck was bent inwards and glued to fit. So, I used an Exacto knife to slowly cut at the glue and allow for the rubber to be released from its position. I then, removed the tail which was sewn onto a crochet panty. I knew I would want to use the tail to add to the plush I was going to make for her body. She was cute as a dolly, but I thought she would be better as a plushie instead.

I decided I would use the pattern for the other My Toy Co. plush kitty I restored last time. I still had the old body and could make a new one with it. I began with white fur and decided that her underside would be pink, just the way the old plush was from the other cat. Generally, when I choose a color scheme, I try to go with what the rubber face looks like and since this face had white hair I figured a white body with pink underside would look amazing on her. I began with cutting out the pattern last night, and then started sewing. By mid day, all I had to do was stuff the body, add wiring to the front paws and close the stitching. A little fur trim to match the white fur. Then, touch up of her face paint and added some blush.
By the afternoon, I just needed to add a satin bow to her. Below, here she is side by side the My Toy Co. kitty. I think her plush body is perfect on her, the fur tail also matches her quite well on her backside. I may remove the satin bow and instead use blue cord with a little bell to make a collar... I absolutely love her wittle face! She turned out quite nicely. Ugh, that just makes it harder for me to let her go if I have too! LOL

Next, I received this lovely Acid Banana necklace as a trade from Susie on IG. I have been wanting this version of her necklaces forever!!! I am so glad to be able to have one. She sells out so fast it is really hard to get one. So this beaut will be treasured. I found this lovely vtg Gund bunny to restore and resell. She just needed a good wash and given a pinafore. She is quite unique and already listed in my shop! I also found this lovely maroon Easter 1940s plush bunny. She doesn't have satin ears, but still a lovely color! I may add her to my shop? Be checking my shop often!!

Then, I found this lovely vintage pink puppy sleeping plush. She was washed and I added some flowers and a bow to her. I hope to add her to my shop soon as well. I was going to keep her, because she reminded me of the cute puppy in the vintage baby card below!! Definitely a Gund in the card. But the one I found had no tag, so I don't believe she was a Gund. But, perhaps a Genie or Columbia Toy Brand plush.

Last, this lovely Artistic Toys Inc. vintage sleepy puppy in white and hot pink. She has in gold letters the name, "Marilyn". Perhaps Marilyn Monroe? Definitely vintage, she has a little bell on her tail and is just to cute with her sleepy face and tongue sticking out. I may keep her... Not sure yet?

Summer storms are coming and going. I hope you all are enjoying your summer daze?!

What's Up?!

February has come, and is now on its way out! Time flies doesn't it? Well, at least when you are older it seems to go by in a flash, and you wonder what day it is or what month it might be! Ahhh, such is life...

Busy can't describe half of what goes on here. So, here I am a few weeks later to share what I've found and what things I've come across... Enjoy!

I finally got my Acid Banana necklace from UK. It was a trade between the amazing artist Susie Wong of Acid Banana and I. She loved a few of my shop goodies and we traded for one of her necklaces. Which by the way are worn by a famous music artist, Post Malone!! Susie creates playful jewelry and repurposes Chanel buttons in her works! I love the fact that its repurposed!! She added a few fun gifts too! Thank you dear Susie!! Sadly, mail has taken so much more time to get to me, even with Stateside mail. I don't think it will ever get better... On my Bday, I got this cute handmade organizer basket from a dear friend, who is currently Stateside. I love the Skeleton mermaid design. It will get a lot of use, that is for sure!!

I also decided to get these two Roly poly dolls in blue and pink. I meant to sell both, but after seeing the blue baby, I think he will make a great photo prop too! Besides how can one resist their cuteness!! The pink is still currently listed in my shop for adoption! These are smaller versions of the Rolypolies. About 7.5 inches tall. I was also able to find another Chocoholic shelf. This time it has 4 tiers. I just love this retro shelf. Their colors and design, remind me of the vintage shelving of the 1950s and 1960s, but in colors, not the drab browns or blacks.

Next, I decided I needed a Tee from Fugly Barbie on Etsy. I got the sweatshirt last time, but on Guam its too hot to wear. So a Tee would be perfect, and in pink too! I also had the idea to take the Ken Elephant Nostalgia miniature albums, and create a scrapbooking fun pic, below. I basically took some cute Rushton plushy photos and made them into tiny Polaroids and Tada! A mininature scrapbooking sesh! It was fun to shoot too!

Also, I found this lovely tan gal, a vintage Japan mascot blonde doll. She is huge and has movable arms. I didn't realize they made them like that. Generally, they only have the simple twisting arms up and down, and not sideways. Neat! She was in near perfect condition for being over 40 years old!! I will keep her for now. I also was able to snag this lovely My Toy rubber face bear. At first, I thought he was a bunny. But when he arrived, he was in fact, a bear! I love his face, so chipper too! He was washed and fluffed and I added a blue satin bow. He will live with me for now.

On Valentine's Day, the hubs, got me this lovely box of Parisco treats!! Thank you my love!! It was enjoyed every other day, then week after Valentine's too! Parisco always makes some unique yummy treats! They are my fave place to go for nomnoms. Even the card Sam got me was just too sweet! He always knows how to make me smile. Next, I also found these cute Sekiguchi tan boy and girl dolls. I have seen them often, and decided to get them to add to my shop.

I also won this vintage rubber face Kitty plush in purple on Ebay. Made by My Toy also, he needed a good washing. When he arrived, he smelled of strong perfume and musty odors. He also needed a lot of cleaning on his face. He is quite unique with his licking lips mouth. Still has his original tag and there are wires in his body to help you pose him and in his tail. He's quite unique and was adopted as soon as I listed him in my shop!

Last, I needed an updated photo of my current Rushton plush family. I hope to be downsizing soon. When, not sure. But slowly. These are my faves so far and these days, they are just too expensive and even harder to find cheap... ugh. Which makes it harder for me to decide to let any go. I know I will not find them again and for the price that is good.

I hope you all have a great month! Stay safe and well!
