February Finds...

 Oh my goodness, I can't believe how fast February has gone, before you know it, it will be March!! Here are some of the finds for February thus far...

I bought this adorable Ado M. lady vase via Japan. She is actually an incense vase, I believe. she has a short type vase area on the right side of her head. She reminds me of the movie "Boxing Helena". I've never watched it myself though. I also received a lovely gift of treats from a dear friend for my birthday too! Alvina in Canada, thank you dear for the yummies!! We are enjoying them!

Below some celluloid dollies I got from KitschandKawaii shop on IG. She had a box full of them and I was able to snag two!! Yay! This adorable Humpty Dumpty ceramic ornament, I found while searching felt ornaments. I love his retro look and style. A sweet cutie to decorate my dresser with!

Next, I preordered the new Ken Elephant roly poly dolls above and Sanrio cases below. They are new colors for the dolls above. I definitely wanted a blue one and also the green one, but it is not in the photo. The Sanrio case are similar to the Rune Naito ones, but in Sanrio characters instead. How cute! I have both sets available in my shop now!!

This adorable baby duck, I won with a Lot of 8 plushies and dolls. I fixed her up first and will work on the rest this week. Now, that she is done, I'm having a hard time letting her go. Oh boy! Haha! Just too cute for words and I'm not sure the brand, perhaps My Toy Co.?

Got another adorable pink telephone above, and it doubles as a coin bank too! Purchased from the amazing shop LepetitCherie on Etsy. Always love vintage finds by Alvina!! Be sure to check out her shop for awesome ceramics too!! Below, I found this lovely vintage Rushton Diaper baby as well, and she needed major cleaning. I didn't do too much and she still has her original stuffing, diaper, and bonnet. She will stay with me for a bit...

Last, some adorable tan girls, the large one above has already been adopted and is on its way to her new owner. She is definitely too cute and so big too! The ones below, I adopted for a fellow collector. The different styles that came from Japan are just too cute not to want them!! LOL

Sunny Bear, Baby Dolls, and More!!

 I recently had the most amazing find to arrive the past week... A 1958 Sun Rubber "Sunny Bear" in brown! I have been on the hunt for a decent priced one for over 5 years now. I try not to collect too many rubber squeaks, only because of space and just a personal preference. But, I have always wanted a Sunny bear. I've had one other opportunity to get one mint in package from another collector, but at the time I didn't have the funds to acquire him. Ugh. So, while doing my ritual of searches, I finally was able to adopt one for a decent price! Yessss!

Above, Sunny, just needed a bit of cleaning up and touch on his face paint too. Sadly, the seller mentioned he didn't work. But, that was okay for me, as long as I had him. If you recall, I had a ceramic version here in this post. I traded it some time ago to another collector as well. But it just wasn't the same. I wanted a Sunny bear. Haha, well anyhow, this guy turned out lovely and I added a blue satin bow to him as well. I discovered that his mouth had a hole, so when I glued it closed, his squeaker ended up working after all. Yay! Now Sunny sits amongst my display by my bed. Greeting me every morning... Ahhh the joy!

I also won this lovely Rushton 'Fretty Freddy' plush in an estate auction online. He needed a lot of work! I washed him, cleaned his face up and touched it up. He was missing his vest, bow, and hat. I had to search for a few days to find a hat that suited him. I made the vest using vtg felt fabric and buttons I had in my stash. Then, used a red grosgrain ribbon for his tie. Now, he was ready for a new life! I had him in my Etsy shop for a week and just yesterday a buyer in China adopted him! Yay, go and be loved my dear Freddy!!

Since getting that mini Crosley record player, I found and bought a few more 3 inch records. Yup, found the Disney singles above and Charlie Brown Christmas sets too! They will be fun to use for Christmas posts this year! I also bought a lot of 2 plush bunnies, and one has a roly poly doll face!! The blue bunny girl is already listed in my shop. I will keep the roly poly face one for now.

Next, I decided to locate the rattle teether rings you see in this adorable Meyercord decal of a baby bear playing with one, and sure enough, I did!! It was sold in a lot with other rings. So, I made two sets, and one is added in my shop. I was so happy to see, this all come together! It was nice and I will keep this set for now. I also decided to sell my Cortendorf Red Head girl wall Plaque. She is listed in my Etsy shop as well. The small one I will keep.

These adorable "Curly" Baby doll fashions, I acquired as a lot from Yahoo Japan. I wasn't sure who they were meant for, but I have some idea. I mostly wanted the pink dress in the first pic for Alice. She fits it well too. I believe the latter 2 styles may fit the doll that follows after the fashions, Takara Cuddle Baby doll. Made in 1965, she is the Japanese version of the Vogue Baby dear doll also with sleep eyes. She is quite large too. Again, I don't often collect Baby dolls, but this baby is just too cute not to want to keep her! LOL  Going back to the fashions, I believe they were meant for a toddler size doll. I'm sure I will find out who that is someday.

Yup, like I said, I'm finding other cute baby dolls that I am smitten by... This one is by Sekiguchi Japan made in the 70s I believe or late 60s. She is an adorable baby doll I bought from another Etsy seller's shop. She took a month to arrive, but was so worth it. She was very dirty and needed a bath. So I washed her fashion and cleaned up the doll as best I could. You can even see in the photo below, I had to use Mr. Clean magic eraser to remove age old dust on her arms, face, and legs.

Here she is before and after. The photo above the arm one is when I found her a new dress to wear. Yay! There's something about her eyes, almost hypnotizing to me. I believe she can suck her thumb, just like her family to dolls, Moncchichis. She has a cloth body and rubber face, arms and legs. Her toes are in a cute pose too! Haha, yup I'm smitten. I also found this lovely Fancy Gund bunny, I cleaned her up. She is just too cute! Than, this adorable funny and weird plush mouse! Love his fabric eyes! Both are in my Etsy shop already.

Next, I was commissioned this past month to restore this lovely Happy Bear, who luckily, was rescued from a house fire!! He smelled of kerosene and so I decided to wash him twice. In the end after washing, his fur became so brittle and basically as I tried to sew his ripped areas, his fabric began to rip as I was sewing. Poor baby. So, the only plausible decision was to give him a new fur body. It took some time for the fur to arrive, but now he is ready to be loved again. He's already on his way back to his owner in Japan.

Making a Tree Skirt and More...

      I've been trying to keep busy as of late. No appointments given to me as yet. So, I decided to make a tree skirt for my little pink table tree I decorate during Christmas. I started off with the idea to use some more of my Rushton fabric from Japan and the cute Alice in Wonderland iron-ons I got from my local Goody store...

I couldn't work on it a week after coming up with the idea, because I had to wait for the pompom trim to come in. When it did, it was a bit larger in size than I had hoped, but still lovely. I didn't have a pattern to make it. So, I formed the circle, using the lid from my vintage plastic hamper! LOL Yup, I did! I figured it was just about right size for the circle. I then, cut the baby blue satin fabric and then the Rushton fabric to size. I cut a line towards the center of the circle on the fabric to make the opening of the skirt, where it ties. Then, another smaller circle at the center for the tree trunk. I used satin baby pink ribbons and sewed them into the skirt along with the baby pink pompom trim. Turned it inside out and TADA! I was almost done. It was definitely a little bit rough as you can see, but it will do, since it is only for me...

It took the next day to find out where I had placed my iron. Yup, don't iron much, if rarely at all. Teehee, I'm a wash, dry and wear kinda gal. Found it and added the Alice iron-ons. It was fun to watch everything come together! Now, I have a reversable table tree skirt! I can use one side this year and a different side the next! LOL

From Japan, I received a box with some adorable items, like this Fujiya Peko chan rug and key chain tins. I've always wanted the Peko chan vintage sign, but its very expensive to buy even in Japan. So, this mat is cheaper and more affordable for me. The key chains, I've added to my Etsy shop if any are interested. They are cute to hold little things and you can have them hang off your keys or purse!

The rubber face ladies with adorable hats or bonnets, I shared in my last post here. I made them into roly polies too! These are also with rattles in them. I have added them into my Etsy shop for sale. Next, are these amazing High Fashion Lina by Takara doll fashions made by My Balloon, a Japanese doll artist. I just happened upon her blog while searching up information on Lina dolls. Oh my goodness, she created these lovely mod style fashions for another collector of Lina. I had to ask if it was alright for the very same fashions to be created for me and the other collector said yes! Thank you dear!! Yaya, did an amazing job! I love each of them!!

I chose this lovely peach nighty number with hat, this amazing mod style dress with hat, below, and last, the Liberace style in red with lace ruffles below!!

I also received this lovely vtg plush bear made by Chiltern, England!! I have been searching for one for 2 years!! Now, I finally have one! He is blue and white fur, with pink ears, paws, and feet. Just adorable and a welcome addition to my little plushy collection! Chiltern is a company that made rubber face plushies similar to Rushton Happy Bears, but painted differently. Some say, they are Rushton knock offs? Who knows...

I also found these lovely Love, Love Usagi mint in box Rune bunny couple for a fellow collector. I was surprised no one had snatched these up. In lovely condition and to see their box was a treat for sure! I decided to take my Winkin' Rushton kitty and give him a restoration... He had the orange sponge inerts and they needed to be trashed, some turning hard and most into sand. I replace his stuffing and decided to touch up some of his nose, lips and cheek blush. He is very special and the only cat I own I believe. Haha!

What's Up?!

 February has come, and is now on its way out! Time flies doesn't it? Well, at least when you are older it seems to go by in a flash, and you wonder what day it is or what month it might be! Ahhh, such is life...

Busy can't describe half of what goes on here. So, here I am a few weeks later to share what I've found and what things I've come across... Enjoy!

I finally got my Acid Banana necklace from UK. It was a trade between the amazing artist Susie Wong of Acid Banana and I. She loved a few of my shop goodies and we traded for one of her necklaces. Which by the way are worn by a famous music artist, Post Malone!! Susie creates playful jewelry and repurposes Chanel buttons in her works! I love the fact that its repurposed!! She added a few fun gifts too! Thank you dear Susie!! Sadly, mail has taken so much more time to get to me, even with Stateside mail. I don't think it will ever get better... On my Bday, I got this cute handmade organizer basket from a dear friend, who is currently Stateside. I love the Skeleton mermaid design. It will get a lot of use, that is for sure!!

I also decided to get these two Roly poly dolls in blue and pink. I meant to sell both, but after seeing the blue baby, I think he will make a great photo prop too! Besides how can one resist their cuteness!! The pink is still currently listed in my shop for adoption! These are smaller versions of the Rolypolies. About 7.5 inches tall. I was also able to find another Chocoholic shelf. This time it has 4 tiers. I just love this retro shelf. Their colors and design, remind me of the vintage shelving of the 1950s and 1960s, but in colors, not the drab browns or blacks.

Next, I decided I needed a Tee from Fugly Barbie on Etsy. I got the sweatshirt last time, but on Guam its too hot to wear. So a Tee would be perfect, and in pink too! I also had the idea to take the Ken Elephant Nostalgia miniature albums, and create a scrapbooking fun pic, below. I basically took some cute Rushton plushy photos and made them into tiny Polaroids and Tada! A mininature scrapbooking sesh! It was fun to shoot too!

Also, I found this lovely tan gal, a vintage Japan mascot blonde doll. She is huge and has movable arms. I didn't realize they made them like that. Generally, they only have the simple twisting arms up and down, and not sideways. Neat! She was in near perfect condition for being over 40 years old!! I will keep her for now. I also was able to snag this lovely My Toy rubber face bear. At first, I thought he was a bunny. But when he arrived, he was in fact, a bear! I love his face, so chipper too! He was washed and fluffed and I added a blue satin bow. He will live with me for now.

On Valentine's Day, the hubs, got me this lovely box of Parisco treats!! Thank you my love!! It was enjoyed every other day, then week after Valentine's too! Parisco always makes some unique yummy treats! They are my fave place to go for nomnoms. Even the card Sam got me was just too sweet! He always knows how to make me smile. Next, I also found these cute Sekiguchi tan boy and girl dolls. I have seen them often, and decided to get them to add to my shop.

I also won this vintage rubber face Kitty plush in purple on Ebay. Made by My Toy also, he needed a good washing. When he arrived, he smelled of strong perfume and musty odors. He also needed a lot of cleaning on his face. He is quite unique with his licking lips mouth. Still has his original tag and there are wires in his body to help you pose him and in his tail. He's quite unique and was adopted as soon as I listed him in my shop!

Last, I needed an updated photo of my current Rushton plush family. I hope to be downsizing soon. When, not sure. But slowly. These are my faves so far and these days, they are just too expensive and even harder to find cheap... ugh. Which makes it harder for me to decide to let any go. I know I will not find them again and for the price that is good.
