Keep Creating and Recent Finds...

 Oh my goodness, it is already November!! The past month leading up to now has been busy, and the good kind too!

I finally finished a commission project for a customer! Whew! She is a Rushton Daisy Belle cow that used to be white with brown spots, but her owner wanted her to be a white and strawberry pink spotted cow. So, back in mid October I began, working on her yarn hair, felt parts and the lovely strawberry spotted fur!! She turned out so lovely, that even Sara told me she wanted one! Haha! Aww, thank you my girl, that means a lot to me!

Above, just the last few touches of sewing her back up after restuffing her with her original cotton batting. They were perfectly good quality and I wanted to put something original to her besides her udders and face. I also remove the straw that was in her hooves and replaced it will cotton wool that will hold up better. I added a vintage cow bell and yellow satin bow along with a pink daisy with blue leaves. TaDa! She was done! No sounder inside her as per owner's request. I am very pleased with the way she turned out. Now, to work on 2 other bambies for her! Ha!

While waiting to begin on the next project, I received these cuties in the mail as well...

This wild red and black striped tiger made in Japan arrived. I have seen him in an Ayumi Uyama book! I didn't think I would want to get one, but in the end did! He's just adorable and mid century modern to me! I also found this lovely Whitman 1947 Baby's Own Story book with box unused and is fabulous condition. I love the graphics inside too! There's even a Family tree page! The box is just too cute and adorable. Mostly the reason I bought it!

From Japan auctions, I got this lovely anime girl make up case. In amazing condition too! Has a mirror and lock closure. I also found this lot of 2 vintage Iron on Bear and Elephant. They will be added to my collection of iron ons.

Next, these vintage Ribon Japan books and mangas above and below rattles. I already have a few of the books listed in my shop and the rattles as well. My fave is the yellow in the middle, and I kept her! She actually quite large too and just the cutest thing!!

I also received this lot of Gimmick miniature pencil cases. There are 5 sets. I love the girlie ones best! Each even comes with tiny pencils and erasers or even protractors! Too cool! A commissioned Gund Bee I found for a friend, and is already on it's way to her too! He arrived in amazing condition as well. No need to do any major cleaning to him either!

Than, this adorable large posedoll with box arrived too. Lovely red dress and boots, she is already listed in my Etsy shop. This huge version of the Ado Mizumori's mermaid figurines is actually a coin bank! I found her with her original box! So cool. I've only seen the smaller ones that are just figurines, so to find this one was dreamy. I listed her in my shop and she sold very quickly!

I don't often find a patchwork Elephant plushies, but this one was hard to resist. Just adorable and probably made closer to the 90s than 80s. Still had its store tag on it too! LOL The happy mail that arrived from Japan below, showcasing a few more of the items I found.

The bento tin with Miyako Maki art work I will keep. I did list the white ceramic poodles and they sold really fast as well! I'm glad to see these items go to good loving homes too! The brown fawn plush, was a surprise to find! In lovely condition as well and I just added the yellow satin bow. She is already on her way to her forever home in Japan!

Next, I found this adorable rag doll bear or is it a puppy? Not sure. He is already listed in my shop. The ceramic blue kitty, I will probably list as well. Still deciding... Haha!

I was truly blessed to find this adorable Princess doll by Rushton, with just some minor flaws. She has been washed and slightly restored, with just a touch up of her face and added a bow. She is a pajama bag. I have only seen her in pink so far, so to find her in blue, was a lovely surprise!!

Next, I also found this adorable Play Girl Bunny by Rushton, in practically perfect condition!! She just needed some blush and a bow! She is exactly as the catalog photo! I was surprised that no one adopted her. And she is huge! I mean as large as my Granny bunny also by Rushton. I will need to do a side by side comparison. Definitely 29" tall. Perhaps a store display? Love her to bits! She will be awesome come Easter!

Last for this post, adorable reproduced decals by Merrybee in Japan. I bought a few to use. They are just as awesome as the Meyercord versions, but a bit trickier to use. If you do not cut them as close as possible to the edge of the decal, than the edges can show on the item you place them on. Also, you have to work quickly and swiftly to get the decal on while trying to make sure it is not folding up on the sides. So definitely takes a quick hand to use them. Haha!

I tried them on some adorable buckets I found and painted from my local Daiso. Not too bad. They are cute! What do you think? More projects using these decals to come!

Another Rare Find!!

 I recently received the icing on the cake plushie by Rushton!! This adorable vintage Rushton bear in pastel colors and holding a little blue plush bear of his very own!! I have only seen this type from a Japan shop that sold it long ago... So, of course to my excitement, finding it was truly a blessing in disguise!!

 He arrived safely from a seller in Texas. Upon inspection, he was in pristine condition for its age. A cream and pink rubber face bear with the similar face mold to the Chubby Tubby. Sadly, no tag, and I could not see his stamp under his chin. He wears pink pants with satin pink ribbon as suspenders, and adorable pastel blue buttons. His satin ribbon tie was somewhat wrinkled up, and may just need a good ironing. The little plush blue bear has felt ears, tongue, plastic eyes, and sewn on nose. His bow was also pink and kind of too thin for my taste. So, I added a nicer bow on him. The chubby bear is about 14 inches tall. He is definitely a part of my Rushton Collection now!

A view of his backside. I replaced the small safety pin, as the last one was all rusty. He is simply the cutest Chubby Tubby bear I've seen in this version. The seller was so sweet and wrote me a lovely note and shared with me the story of how this bear was found. "This particular plush I found recently at an estate sale, it was a keepsake item, it was in a cedar chest along with old baby clothes blankets, and a few other toys, but this was the only rubber face" I think that it why he was so stunning. I did have to touch up his blushing a little, and seal his face, which helped a lot. Because sadly, his rubber face was getting oily in feeling and gave off a stickiness to it. Yuck! But, with the sealant I used, that was gone. Yippee!!

The Japanese shop that had him up for sale long ago. Also, here he is side by side with my Chubby Tubby Cherub. Same face mold too. He is just adorable and I love him!! A welcome addition to my little collection for sure!

This lot of vintage dime store vinyl dolls, I also found online and if you look closely, they look just like "Chico-Chan" or "Tiny Terry". The lot included a blonde, a brunette, and a dark brunette doll. They have arms, and heads that can twist, sadly their shoes are painted on, and legs are stationary. Just too cute! I had gotten so many requests for them, that they sold through IG. I'm just glad others will enjoy them! Next, I had gotten a vintage rubber face plush cat, that had a weird combination of colors and his plush and stuffing had cardboard in him. Seriously, very odd indeed. So, I threw away his old body and remade him into this laying kitty with a rattle! He was snatched up in my Etsy shop already!!

Then, I found this lovely vintage mermaid doll mascot made in Hong Kong. She just needed a good washing and touched up her eye shadow and blush. I listed her in my shop and she was adopted as well. They are quite rare and often hard to find too. I finally became inspired after making the purple kitty above, to finish Sara's pink kitty. The first attempt, I did I was trying to create this similar stance for her plush, but had no pattern. Since I remade the body for the plush kitty here, I have her old body as a pattern now, and was able to complete Sara's kitty. She loves her and I'm just so happy that I finally had her completed. She had been sitting in my boxes for several months now. LOL

Last for today, this adorable very small celluloid blue puppy toy. I thought was a rattle but it doesn't work? Not sure, Still so cute. I will use him in some photos. They are available at KitschandKawaii on Etsy! I missed out on the other colors darn, but still this cutie is special.

Last week Friday, I had 2 biopsies. It was a very odd surgery to have done, and quite uncomfortable. The surgery was called a "Stereotactic Biopsy". Just look it up and you will see what I mean. It is something I don't think I want to experience again. So far healing is fine and it wasn't as invasive as it sounds. I hope to find out results in a week or so, as the lab that it goes to is off island and in Hawaii. Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers, they are very much appreciated.

Before You Speak...

 ...Listen. Before you write, think." is the quote for today. It has been a nice, easy going week. Here are my vintage finds that have arrived to me, safely...

I bought these two adorable nude angel ornaments, because they were unique. Both made in Japan, They have wire with sheer fabric wings at the back, closed eyes, and hands in prayer. Great to hang upon your tree this season. I also received a box from Japan, with two Yahoo Japan items, I won. This lovely ceramic puppy head coin bank. I cleaned him up and added the pink satin bow and rubber stopper. He is already listed in my shop. His eyes are stickers and possibly earlier versions of Rune Naito or Ado Mizumori.

This lovely large posedoll, is similar to others I've found before. But, this one is my 2nd little girl. As the others are a Princess or Southern Belle Lady. This little cutie, has some issues, like her leg is bent in at her calf, and she had a smudge stain on her right cheek. I wiped it a bit, and hopefully it helped. She needed replacing of her bows on her braids. She wears a red dotted satin dress, and red shoes. Quite lovely I think. Now, to decide if I will keep her or not... Haha!

This lovely upcycled Cinderella book, I found through Etsy at, "OstentifieousGoods"! As a little girl, this was my favorite Golden Book. I used to read it over and over, and look dreamily on the illustrations. Not because I wanted a Prince, but because I loved the way the artist drew Cinderella's tiny feet. As I've shared before, I am born with, "Clubfeet". Growing up, I used to wish I had normal feet and be able to wear slippers like hers... Well, one can still dream. The book is made into a journal/sketch book, with extra pages in between the story to write or draw in. How cool is that?! A treasure for sure. The shop has an amazing idea of upcycling old books. I hope they make others!

This lovely ceramic girl with her cat figurine, I had been eyeing for the past 2 weeks. I wasn't sure if I should get her. But now, I am so glad I did. She is made in Japan and has the oddest looking eyes. Haha! As she glares at her kitty. So sweet and her coloring too. I added a ribbon, but may change it to satin instead. Next, I received from Yahoo Japan auctions, a Lot of vintage dolls by Sekiguchi and others. In the lot, is this lovely green jumper Gege doll, similar to the smaller one I shared from last post. They are like sisters. I've already listed the entire lot in my Etsy shop. The taller green Gege is adopted. There is a bonnet girl, not made by Sekiguchi. She is different with her 'Southern Belle' style, and her shoes can come off. Where as the Sekiguchi girls shoes, don't. I love her face too! The three mermaid dolls have color changing hair! From Pink to Purple, Green to Blue, and Yellow to Orange!! Each will be sold separately.

Next, this lovely posedoll with craft hoop. I bought this one from a fellow collector that had it listed on IG. I was so surprised no one else snapped it up. It arrived safely and Katie even added a few treats! How sweet. I love the unique look of the artwork. It is basically, fabric from a white blouse... Then, she printed these cute posedollies on it, and secured it on the hoop. Just adorable and great to hang up too!

Last, my little pink pastel Christmas tree above, I received some blue silk apple ornaments and this lovely pink gingham angel from a lot. Paired the new arrivals with some of last years decor and now, my little tree display is complete! Below, is our living room tree. Taby came down on her day off from work, and helped us to paint the wall to freshen it up. Then, we put up our tree! It looks amazing thanks to her, Sam and Sara!!
